Worst: It's the absolute farthest point in the nation from an ocean BEACH... and that sucks. The weather is violently extreme. We are often the coldest spot in the nation in the winter and the hottest spot in the nation in the summer. I don't understand how this is possible, btw.
oh yeah I'll move there right.me:best: tbd.worst: no women wal marts or job prospects to clutter up my concentration on hating my life.

Rent is high, but it has gone down a lot recently.Studios in the area are now in the 1500 range, where as they used to be more in the 2000 range. A one bedroom is now about 1700 or 1800, and it was previously about 2100 or 2200. I'm not a real estate expert so these numbers are just estimates, and it really varies a lot.I'm moving in August so I'll be able to take advantage of the low prices.

IowaBest: It's beautiful. The entire state is like that grassy hill scene from Windows XP. Except there are trees everywhere and beautiful fields on rolling hills. It's exactly like Field of Dreams (which was filmed here). I've been to every state, and I really do love Iowa. Also, Napa Don lives here. A six bedroom, 2,500+ sq ft house would sell for about $175,000.Worst: It's the absolute farthest point in the nation from an ocean BEACH... and that sucks. The weather is violently extreme. The past couple days I have been driving around the state and even before the crops come us and the trees green up, Iowa is an amazing place. No where I have ever been have I seen a more vibrant, living landscape. It's also the most altered landscape in the world. I wonder what it would have been like to see an endless sea of 10 ft prairie grasses waving in a gentle breeze with small wetlands almost everywhere, all framed by oak savannas. I remember one April day when I was growing up, it was 75 and sunny one day and -15, two foot of snow and 40 mph winds the next.
One thing about about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach, all the damn vampires.

To be fair, I did put a + sign after the 2500. But I was just using my house as an example.

Never been to Iowa, and never thought I'd want to go, but now I sort of do.
You should come to Minnesota instead -- all the natural beauty, and, unlike Iowa, there's actually something to do besides look at cows (we have a great arts scene, decent nightlife, good restaurants). But hurry, we've got about a month more of nice weather, then it's hot until September. September is spectacular here. So yeah, May, early June, or September.

To be fair, compared to New York, neither state has a nightlife.

actually, some people here refer to large, vans with 10+ people as "Guatamansions". We dont have any Mexicans in Miami so I cant comment.I wish I could figure out how to get a picture from my cell phone to on here. I got a great shot from a Publix parking lot of a van with a window-unit air conditioner wedged into the back window. I thought that was pretty awe-inspiring.My mother-in-law says it is not uncommon in some hispanic neighborhoods of New Jersey (ex: Dover, NJ) for a group of Mexicans to buy a big, nice house and then live with 25-35 people inside. I suppose it makes sense to them.....but there are lots of places where zoning laws prohibit that type of use. (Many places near colleges will have similar zoning laws in certain neighborhoods to keep 19 year olds from renting them and having 10 people live inside.)Bet you were not expecting a serious answer.Another thing about miami that sucks: the driving. people are horrible. no one uses turn signals. no one pays attention.
