AcesOnFire 0
If you have over 35 buy ins for your level then you may join the offical club and talk about your Nitness in this thread!I'm a nit. I have 50 buy ins for my level, and I like it that way, I just feel I can open up my game completely when I have so many buy ins and as long as I play winning poker, it makes it damn unlikely variance can make me busto. mikeysong 0
I don't know how having 50 buy ins makes you a nit for NL. It's actually recommended, especially if you're a pro.and why would you brag about being a nit @_@

iggymcfly 0
Wow, sounds like the nit club has some pretty loose standards. I've got 70 BI for my primary game and 35 for the one I take shots at occasionally, and I'm anything but a nit. It's just that after going broke about 25 times, I realized that this was the only way I was ever going to make money. PLO can have some nasty downswings though, especially when you play a hyper-aggressive game which I absolutely do. I'm doing pretty well this month and I haven't put in a ton of hands, but I've still got separate downswings of 15 BI and 27 BI.

I had a 22 buyin downswing this month and still have ~45 buyins for my level.
Doug 0
Hi guys, I am a nit but this makes me look like a bigger one. I have 150+ buyins for my level. I play $1 sngs but I would like to play like a 3 dollar. But 3's are turbos only and nits get owned by turbos. It's a hard knock life for us nits.

rkard 0
Heck back when I was playing anything under 3/6 NL I'd spread 10-15 buyins over 4x6max tables and I felt like a nit then! On hindsight, I was just a lucky shithead. Now playing a bit higher I'll gladly join the 50 buyin nit club. It's nice to watch 3-4 buyins vanish and still feel all cozy inside. Then again I playwise I'd prefer calling myself an Errati-nit, sometimes you gotta flick that switch and get wacky with it.
ROBBBIGG 0
I really don't think 35 BI is being a nit, it's generally good bankroll management for someone being somewhat aggressive about moving up. Regardless, I hit 35 BIs about 20 minutes ago so YAY! I think once I hit a limit that provides a strong "enough" profit/hour I'll just stay there, but I'm not sure where that is yet. I think once I hit a limit that provides a strong "enough" profit/hour I'll just stay there, but I'm not sure where that is yet.Thats a problem I think I will have too.Fellow nits, I have but a simple question... when moving up, do you aquire a nitty amount of buyins for the level you are moving up to at your current level, or do you move up with a normal amount of buy ins (say ~20) and then build it to nitty standards? No_Neck 0
I have found it is easiest to start taking shots when you have 20ish buyins, take two or three and take a shot. As long as you have the discipline to move back down if things go badly. This makes it so when you are really ready to make it your main game you already have a feel for how it plays. Also it avoids you hitting downswing because you aren't comfortable. But I am not a nit
