  1. There's no context when someone goes all-in wih J10 after you reraise someone with it and then someone RERAISES you for the third raise. Kido is a good player. but it was a terrible play.
  2. Even though Phil Hellmuth might have played in more World Series events than with the possible exception of Men the Master and T.J. Cloutier its still not easy to win a bracelet especially in the larger hold'em events which Phil has won all his bracelets in.Also Doyle won half his bracelets in fields with less than a 100 players. Here's the breakdown of the fields of each braclet the Holy Trinity have won:Bracelet Phil Doyle Johnny1 178 17(?) 335(?) 2 84 22 152 3 284 65(?) 1674 173 34 226 5 69 14(?) 326
  3. Here are some other great WSOP's:Chris Ferguson 2000: 1st Stud, 1st in main event. 7th in Stud Hi/Lo, and 8th in Razz.Phil Hellmuth 2001: 1st NLH, 2nd Omaha 8, 5th in the main event, 6th in Limit Hold'em, and three other cashes.Layne Flack 2002: Two No Limit Wins.Chris Ferguson 2003: 1st in Omaha Hi-lo, 1st in Limit/Stud event, 2nd in PLH, 4th in NL Deuce event, 6th in PLO, and set WSOP record with 8 cashes.Phil Hellmuth 2003: 1st in Limit Hold'em, 1st in NLH, 3rd in Limit Omaha, 6th in Limit Hold'em, and two other cashes.Men the Master Nguyen 2003: 1st in Stud, 1st in A-5 Triple Draw, 2nd in
  4. You can only show two cards to take down the pot, but it is better to show all four. You don't want to show just two and realize your beat and accidently muck half the pot. Also you don't want to inadvertantly slow roll so it is better just to show all four.
  5. No that's not the one. This tournament features 21 players representing 21 different countries.
  6. Who do players borrow from to get the 500 to 600k needed to play in the big game if they're broke?
  7. It's a damn shame this show was never given a chance. It was great to see great poker players disecting and analyzing the play at the WPT Championship and arguing whether or not certain plays were right or not. The Travel Channel was idiotic for not giving this show a chance.
  8. Sometimes you have to gamble even with a small pocket pair with the blinds that high.
  9. 7-3 suited, Q-5 offsuit, and J-2 suited.
  10. While I think the best odds are for players who play the highest stakes cash games I'm not going to count out a lot of tournament players who seem to excel at all five games. Here are the tournament players I think have the best shot:John Juanda (One of the best in No Limit, Stud 8/or better bracelet, multiple stud final tables and wins, and multiple Razz final tables. Only problem is Omaha 8/or better is said to be his weakest game).Chris Ferguson (Final tables in all five games. Stud, 2 in Omaha8 or better, and one in a limit hold'em/stud tournament)Men Nguyen (One of the best stud tournamen
  11. I say raise because you might get the original raiser to call too bets cold. Even though your only four low and only have backdoor draws its worth putting in the extra bet in because besides a 7 any card completing your low will give you some kind of draw. A 3 give you an open-ended straight draw and an ace and 6 will give you a gut shot. You can even a high club and bet out and get the other players to fold. You could catch the three of clubs and bet out and get the other players to fold when you only have eight-high!Throw in the fact people often chase and call down with just high hands, I b
  12. I believe the blinds were really high and it was a blind vs. blind battle and Daniel probably felt that he might legitimately have the best hand.
  13. Defnitely not a call. The only thing I consider a call is if someone verbally says call or puts chips into the pot. I've never heard "What do you have there" by considered a call and never have met anyone who has.
  14. I hope they bring in some new blood. I hope Matusow buys-in and puts his money where his mouth is. I would also like to see Ivey and Hansen play.
  15. WPT has banned deals ever since Paul Phillips and Mel Judah made a deal at the WPT Legends tournament in season 2. Deals at WSOP use to be highly common. In the 90's I would say around 25% to 33% events were settled in deals. I know some deals took place in non-TV events at the 2004 WSOP, but I haven't heard about any deals in the TV events at the WSOP.
  16. Definitely jacks. I've probably lost more pots with that hand from either there being a ten-high flop or pot logged myself after re-raising with them. After jacks I would say next would be AQ, QQ, and AK.
  17. I can't f***king believe Phil called with that f***king piece of ****. He played that f***king real bad. He f***king called 25k on the turn and called another f***king 40k on the river with f***king top pair no f***king kicker. F***king so bad. Hellmuth asking for f***king insurance. F***king ridiculous. I love f***king Phil Hellmuth, but he played f***king terrible tonight.
  18. This is the video taken by PokerPages.com.
  19. You know its a well researched article when they say the "World Series of Poker" is on the Travel Channel.
  20. I was wondering what happen to Jenifer Harman at the heads-up tournament. She's listed at Cardplayer as one of the participants and I remember seeing her on the original bracket. Does anyone have an answer for this?
  21. Closest I have ever seen was playing a heads-up freezeout and both me and my opponent were dealt aces.
  22. There was no ESPN crew the year Huck, which is a shame becaue it was great final table with Huck, John Bonetti, Men the Master, and An Tran. This site has a play-by-play of the event http://conjelco.com/wsop96/bigdance4.html.The one final table I'm upset that didn't filmo or have shown is the 2001 WSOP. The final table was absolutely sick. Phil Hellmuth, Mike Matusow, Carlos Mortensen, Dewey Tomko, and Phil Gordon. And to think Daniel was also two spots away from the final 9 also. That would have made for such great TV. Here's another recap for the event if anyone is interested.http://casino.co
  23. The following hand is from a three table sit-and-go. I have 4600 which is above average. I just was moved to a new table so I don't know most of the players patterns yet.The chipleader with over 9000 raises my 200 big blind to 625. A short stack player calls leaving himself 1200. A player calls all-in for 400. I'm in the big blind with AK offsuit. I think about making it 1800 to put the other player all-in and maybe forcing the other play all-in and forcing the original raiser to fold. Insted I opt to take a flop.So there is 1600 in the main pot and 675 in the side pot. Flop comes:Qh 3h 2s. Ch
  24. Super System 2 is better because its more up to date. The No limit sections are nearly identical, but in SS2 you get a better limit hold'em section than SS1, omaha 8 or better, 2-7 triple draw, stud eight or better, and pot-limit omaha. The relavent section in SS1 that would be useful to a beginner is the 7 card stud section by Chip Resse. The rest of SS1 is either games that are no longer played or games only played at the highest stakes.
