  1. Was that the hand when Hoyt hit running 7's?I think that was also the hand where afterwards Phil makes a fist and shakes it a bit and it sounded/looked like he was about to completely go off like "you.... *shakes fist*" bahahaha definitely #1. he was so truely completely steaming
  2. GL ZimmerThat seems like a weird payout structure... give 4th and 5th some $ less than their buyin? why not just pay top 3 like a regular sng?
  3. he obviously got all that from some acronym finder web site. possibly even ACRONYMFINDER.COM LOOOOOLLL
  4. No but you can see Tilly's head bobExcellent.
  5. i hate that preflop and flop raisebut yeah you obviously had to lay that one down on the turn
  6. JESUS H. CHRISTI am the moron of the day... been playing on Stars for about 5 months, never knew that. Any time I ever looked at HH, I always immediately saw:"playerA: shows [Kh Qc] (a pair of Queens)playerB: mucks hand"BUT LOW AND BEHOLD, LOOK WHAT IT SHOWS AT THE BOTTOM OF THE HH!!@#!@#"Seat 7: playerB mucked [7d Kd]"TY Socrates

  11. erac22, I played in the same $3R satellite last night. I busted out around 40th, very disappointing for 3-4hrs or whatever it was. Was at your table for a while tooI was in the top 15 for the first 2-3 hours, then for some reason when it got to 90-100 players left (29 advance) I got all passive and blinded down to below average. Felt I made a few mistakes towards the end like folding AQ to some guy that was new to the table and pushed 3 hands in a row, looking back I think he could have had anything, most likely not AK or better.Anyway about your question, I've only ever played 2 satellites to
  12. well i'm convinced...at the $25buyin (.10/.25) NL tables on pokerstars, this strategy is good for about break even, at best.maybe the .25/.50 or up tables its profitable?
  13. maybe i'm missing your point but...I guess the main reason people play the satellites is the most obvious. They really want to play the big tourney (be it WSOP/WPT/WCOOP) but feel they're good enough to get in cheap without having to pay full buyin. I'm sure there are Pros who do this. Didn't Matusow get into WSOP on a satellite?Check out this story, guy got into WSOP Main Event on FPP alone:http://www.pokerstarsblog.com/2005/08/dogg...r9-archive.html
  14. *edit*Actually I misread. Didn't realize you also had the nut flush draw. I guess I would have played that hand pretty strongly too. Oh well.
  15. Jack10Suited,You should have saved the chat log. If it went as you say it did, sure does sound like it would warrant an email to UB.
  16. That's my FAVVVVOOORITE way to bust out, get a free look at the flop from the BB, hit what seems to be a nice one, but NO.That first hand with the AJ was hideous though
  17. *edit*poppinfresh...With those satellites, you (usually) don't have to finish 1st, just in the top 10,15,30, whatever. If the top 15 get a ticket to the WCOOP tourney, then you just have to finish 15th, same as 1st.So, lets look at an example of a WCOOP satellite I played:$10+1 NLHE with rebuys & addon90 entrantstop 12 get satelliteI buyin and addon at the break, so I spent $21 i think.I finish 12th and get entry to the $215 NLHE WCOOP tourney.I unregister from the wcoop and get 215 W$I sell the W$ to someone for $200So I profited about $180 from a $21 buyin with only 90 players with a 12t
  18. I sold my 215 W$ for $207 cash and gave the guy a $10 finders fee. So $197 made on a $21 satellite win.So what is that.. about 91%, not bad I figured.
  19. It's always interesting to hear details about a player's thought process during a big final table. Thanks for sharing, armen. I must say it was entertaining to watch when the tourney was down to around 3 tables (IIRC) when you were short-stacked, in no way did I expect you to make the FT. GG! You definitely got some luck down the stretch, which is always needed in a big MTT.Also Patrick thanks for the HH analysis, I'd have to agree with pushing allin on one of those first two hands (i didn't see final table, so just going by your HH record)
  20. (preface: only read the first 8 pages of this thread so far)SUMMARY of my ~400 hands experience so far: I'd rather get raped with an un-lubed pine cone than do this for a 2nd income.I keep reading posts about "nailed 18 sets, got called 7 times, etc etc."Where is everyone playing, and what buyins? Party only? I think I need to setup an account there.4-tabled $25 NLHE tables from 3:20AM to 5:20AM on Stars. Comparing this to $10 SNG play, SNG play wins more $, but I realize this is a small sample size. I might give this another try sometime, though I must say it's very boring.- Hit 2 sets. Push
  21. Seems like the Buffalo was playing pretty scared at that point... crazy fold imho
