No, I plan on finishing my BME degree, goto law school, and get settled nicely. However, I will continue to pull in the extra monthly money from poker and laugh at my friends when they point out I inexplicably make an extra 10k than them every year.

I also read stuff about people winning the lottery everyday, but that doesn't mean I try and do it. Those guys got lucky, plain and simple.

If I won a million dollars, I'd write a book detailing my experience and pay tribute to my wife who stood by me during the hard times when I pissed away living expenses with my gambling habit and who continued to support my dream. Like Moneymaker. Then I'd divorce the shit out of her once I get on television. Like Moneymaker.

"Trumped up" drug charge? Wtf does that mean? Either you tried to sell crack to a policeman or you didn't. Paris Hilton shoplifting her own video was trumped up, this is Cardplayer softballing Mike for the interview.

making the switch to limit (temporarily at least)
Sushiman replied to benhoug's topic in General Poker Forum
I suppose it would behoove me to get this book, and I will, but it will be against my better judgement as I think Sklasnky is a dick. I had no opinion of him 'till he picked up aces 5 times in one of those Poker Superstars shows and thought he was the duke for winning the episode. Then in the little interview segment he said he probably would have won the Nobel Prize if he wasn't a poker player. I just don't like the way he carries himself. What a dick.I saw that episode and thought Sklansky was pretty humble and was even slightly apologetic at how lucky he was. He carried himself better t -

People who ask questions like that are always looking for excuses to call.

65 bb downswing today. About the first 40 was variance kicking me in the junk, the rest of it unfortunately was me doing shots and drunk tilting.

Wow, you guys are hella aggressive over there. I would have been doubting my 10s from the first flop reraise.

tourneys or cash game? (search doesn't work)
Sushiman replied to All_In...'s topic in General Poker Forum
I have to believe there are. The lower SNGs (if you count them as tournies) are easy money for people with any of bit patience and common sense. -
Shit yeah, we're going to Per Se this Wednesday. Bought a nice laptop and a lot of groceries with poker money as well.Awesome! I spent most of my summer winnings indulging my foodie habit too. Order the Peach Melba and don't forget to goto the Stone Rose Lounge for drinks afterwards. But yea, food and bills.

The bandwidth from poker sites is completely negligible. With 1.7 gigs and no porn habit I wouldn't even worry about it.

Ebay is pretty much the consistently cheapest place I've seen them.

micro & small limits: limit holdem or nl?
Sushiman replied to dave416's topic in General Poker Forum
Starting at microlimits minimizes financial risk, lets you learn the game, not to mention change adds up after a while. Plus hopefully you'll have plugged some leaks by the time you get to 3/6. -
$2 fee per transaction is not that low in my opinion, not to mention I get fined $5 every month if I don't use the card? Wtf is that about. On a side note, I still Neteller.

free advice on playing professionally and moving up
Sushiman replied to rok300's topic in General Poker Forum
Great post, but seems to me you are leaving money on the floor by not playing online. As you said it is more profitable to be killing the lower limits than barely surviving at the higher limits, so shouldn't multitabling 10/20 online be a great thing for you? -
I'd call that a good night.

Because they play with friends who suck equally bad, so nobody feels the need to improve because everyone is so damn loose. Some other people are just stubborn because they got extremely lucky with bad hands when they just started playing and that dictated thier future style.I'd say out of every 30 college aged holdem players there are 5 decent ones and 1 good one. Why? Because college kids are retarded and they are playing with daddy's money anyway.

is $50 nl at party that much tougher than $25?
Sushiman replied to Boogie711's topic in General Strategy
There's no difference. -
Party itself does not offer rakeback. Party skins like Eurobet and Empire Poker offer rakeback. Google search to find affiliates.

It's possible, but that doesn't mean the top cash game players are earning that much. I would say that 10 million a year is way out of whack for a top pro unless he takes down a huge tournament. Ivey is a workaholic and he is reported killing cash games for 200-300k a month, and that still does not add up to 10 million over the course of a year. It IS possible if you are pimping your own line of pokerwear, chipsets, dvds, and selling your face all over the place, but 10 million from poker alone is severely stretching it.

By "taking a pot away with your skill" do you mean bluffing raising the river? Because yea, I'm pretty sure that wouldn't work. And if by "playing that junk" you mean high pockets then yes I guess I should start folding AA preflop as it is a +EV move. If your best game is really online limit holdem then maybe you should realize that one 5 hr session (maybe 300 hands live) allows for no judgement on any level of play. Maybe you ran bad, maybe people got lucky, or maybe you just donked away $100 and are too stubborn to admit it. Btw, does jamming the pot with unimproved AK really win money at

Actually poker as made me a cheap bastard. Nowadays I think of everything in terms of BB and instead of thinking $30 is an okay price for a pair of jeans, I think "wtf at my winrate I have to play like 1200 hands to earn that much" and always end up never buying anything.
