Agreed. I think you really may have gotten floated on the flop by a player in position on an innocent looking board and then he popped it when you threw out a weakish turn bet. I think the correct move was betting like $3.50 on the turn so you actually find out where you are. If he raises fold. Check/calling makes no sense to me. I assume then you are checking the river and hoping that he checks behind? If he doesnt are you just check/calling the river as well? Were you set mining? At the 1/2 weekend night tables ive played at recently at the Borgota a reraise to 60 is fine if you are expecting to get called. In the game I played a week ago a RR to 40 or 80 would have been considered about the exact same thing by most of the players at my table. I normally play tighter there...keeping the pots smaller until I hit. Not making steal plays like that (even though you may have had the best hand at the time here, im just speaking hypothetically). I'm not sure that my style is optimal for those games so other peoples opinions on steal attempts to pick up $30 pots in sometim

I think you have to bet here. Hes playing it like he had a draw and missed it but at this level he could also easily have AJ or KJ and just be playing it super passively thinking hes beat but being unable to fold. I think your passing up way to much value by checking the river if he has one of those hands. I'd be very surprised if he threw out a cr on the river if you bet.
