  1. I agree with a lot of what you guys are saying. In regards to stealing blinds later in the tourny, do you guys think your best just to push or just make large raises? (supposing your average stack in the tourny but the blinds are creeping up rapidly) I have found that often times i make a large raise i get called and then face an all-in on the flop.example: later stages of the tourny, blinds 200-400 w/ 50 antestack size is avg. and your about 50 spots out of the money still.u hold :clubsa: :spadesq: u raise 5 times the bbSB calls and is also an average stackflop comes :diamonds10: :spad
  2. Just a question for the forum. I'm trying to become a more aggressive nl player when it comes to mmt. I usually play a tight agressive style that works, but not well enough. Just wondering how some of the successful mtt players here incorporate their aggresiveness? Push all-in a lot? Make large raises with less than desirable hands?Daniel says "in order to survive you must be willing to die"I need to apply this quote while still using skill to outplay my opponents.Any help?
  3. ok, when i first started playing poker online i played mostly sng's and mtt's. after i few months i found mtt's extremely frustrating as you could spend 3 hours in a tourny and bust out without winning a dime. since then i strictly play limit with the odd sng. i find playing limit cash games much more satisfying and just had a question. Do any of you guys grind it out playing strictly mtt's? today i deposited $100 into pstars to play a few tourny's and after spending 2.5 hours in a 10+1 mtt nl tourny i busted out in 172nd place out of about 1400. just feels like i totally wasted my time
  4. my favorite site. deposit your $100 and you won't be disapointed. if you don't believe you can always do play money until you decide.
  5. moderator, could you please ban this guy. i don't feel this kind of post is necessary.
  6. i love the idea. i don't play on stars but i'd join to take part.
  7. isnt this an old quote?i seem to remember reading this somewhere months ago.maybe im mistaken..Probably, but the turnover in here and the amount of new recruits validates my posting it again and padding my post totals in the process. :-)plus, there is not a hell of a lot to do in sudbury!
  8. deposited $100 twice into PP and went broke both times. (tilt lessons)deposited $100 into Absolute and it currently sits at about $210 (never play there, traffic sucks, play the odd sng)deposited another $100 onto paradise poker and have built it up to $270 playing .25-.50 limit over the last 2 months.
  9. i don't even think you can get season 1 on dvd yet in Canada so i doubt season 2 is available.
  10. i play on paradise and haven't encountered any trash talking until today. some guy got sucked out on the river and started mouthing off the typical stuff. but then he started making racial slurs (the N word) and calling people faggats. to me, thats beyond being a prick and i actually emailed support and told them about it. they said he had logged off and they couldn't do anything unless i have proof of what he said. but give me a break, little pussy's that hide behind a computer and say shit like that are spineless. I sometimes wonder what these guys would say if they were confronted wi
  11. so i was sittiing about 300 feet away from him but he did walk by me. i think he mentioned it in a past jouranl entry how he was coaching an outdoor hockey game in hamilton for charity. well there he was in his #93 Negreanu jersey braving the weather. it was actually close to freezing temperatures and pouring rain with big gusts of wind but stayed he stayed out there. i think its pretty cool that a guy like daniel would take time out of his busy schedule to come up to canada and do this and brave the weather none the less. Kudos Daniel. On a side note i left after the second period and saw
  12. possibly the funniest thing i've ever seen on this forum.
  13. im from grimsby which is between hamilton and niagara falls but i usually play at brantford casino even though its a farther drive. fallsview offers usually anywhere from 4-8 to 50-100 at night and on weekends with a couple of 5-10 nl tables. fallsview also closes the poker room between 4 am and noon so it kinda sucks. if you really want to party your best to go over the border (2 blocks over the rainbow bridge) and play at seneca casino. free booze and all sorts of limits. then again you are only 19 and unable to gamble in the US so im going to shut up know. :silenced:
  14. i have totally impressed with vaswani. he's quickly becoming one of my favourites. on a side note i think the ept is just as every bit as good as the wpt.
  15. i always order from amazon.ca and i usually get it within 2 days.
  16. yeah, UB has their software rigged so that as soon as you clear your bonus they make you lose. happens to everyone. thats poker.
  17. i'll get up and go for a walk around the casino every once in a while, especially after a tough beat. also you can split the session up by taking a meal break about half way through (my local casino gives an hour)
  18. the title of this thread should read "proof of classless poker player"
  19. i was so excited to see it and it sucked. i found the notebook more entertaining.
  20. i've been wondering the same thing. my local casino allows unlimited raises when heads-up.
  21. aren't you scared that your going to shat your pants after eating mcd's? thats the last thing i would want to eat if i had to be stationary for another 12 hours.
