Mattnxtc 0
We could use you around here more Chris. It's tough to find guys well versed in big limit cash games. Most of the people who are very successful it seems are either doing it with tourneys, or multitabling and killing 3/6 or 5/10. Even though I can't play much anymore I still read and try to stay fresh.my thoughts exactly..it was also fun watchin him and aseem go at it back in the day...and wrto if u got better then man id never want to end up at ur table

GetSprung 0
Agreed Chris, my girlfriends in high school never seemed to like Dave. I've always been a huge fan. I'm sure he gets enough high school and college age ***** for the whole forum. And thanks, hopefully I don't go broke before I get to show off my skills. Can't wait til January! Wandigo 1
I now know how to take the time to prepare for each session, regardless of how small, where before the idea of doing that would have never even crossed my mind. That is a HUGE concept and has been one of the biggest steps forward. Can you maybe go into a bit more on this?

wisky_VI 0
Hmmm, I'm not as good at speeches as some of the other students but I've certainly thanked Steve directly more than one time and have discussed many times how things have changed for me and where I'm at and where I see things going. Some of the things Steve teaches are hard for us to accept, but if we do listen and deal with it/learn it and move on it pays huge dividends. Learning to play and already up to mid limits on a new poker game(new to me) was something I never thought possible but I've done it. Also being exposed to some other games including some basic strategy and advanced strategy will help me work on those games as time goes by. It sure is sweet learning things the right way!Working together with Steve and the group has always been a positive thing and a great way to get through the trials and tribulations of the poker training process. It's certainly not always easy and being brutally honest is not always fun or easy but it's the only way. Thanks again Steve and we'll certainly be staying in touch for a long time to come !!Jim
mx957 0
I'll keep it short, but Steve, Adam, Jamie and the rest of the group helped me out alot. My game still isn't where I want it to be but that's my fault and not theirs. I haven't spent as much time on my game as I'd like but with the tools, knowledge and information that they have assisted me with, I can still say I have learned alot and I now have the skills to keep moving forward. Thanks to everyone and I am looking forward to the trip to LA!Ron. Mercury69 3
If you are young and you are thinking of taking the plunge, I say go for it. All of the boring life stuff is always there, real jobs and responsibilities never go away. Hey, I am 41 and I am thinking of moving to Vegas. I am just waiting for my 18 year old son to be self suffcient, which he is getting close to that situation.Do they have micro-limit tables live in Vegas? ;-)
CobaltBlue 662
Either way, we need better, higher limit players posting in strat. Cobalt can't hold down the SH and FR LHE sections all on his own!Ha. Full ring LHE and me really don't get along much anymore. I'll still play it every now and then, but it just seems to boring in comparison to SH.And, I actually feel bad cause I need to be posting a lot more 20/40 SHLHE hands. I've had some interesting ones over the past week. I just need to fight the urge to make "brag" posts and keep to my strategy of posting equal winners and losers.
AAsnake88 0
Well, now that my Pokerstars 2k Adventure is over (for me, my money is apparently going without me), let me show a little appreciation for what Steve and our group has done for me.When Steve and I first spoke back in May, I had been trying to improve my game through reading books. I was then primarily a MTT player, and a total cash game donk. I had some nice tourney cashes over the preceding 2 years and somehow managed to keep the br somewhat intact even though for some reason I thought that a 5k tourney cash meant that I should go play 10-20 nl for fun. Training taught me to think well beyond what the books can teach. No matter how much you read, there is no substitute for time and experience. I used to agonize over single hands, small decisions, and was basically 'in my head' far too much. Getting over this mentality was probably the most beneficial of all I learned. In addition, I learned to play more games, including the opportunity to sweat Steve in live sessions of games I never dreamed of playing before in both Vegas and LA.Our group, most of whom have posted prior to me in this thread are a fantastic bunch of guys. Some I have met in person, others still only on the net, but the friendships developed nonetheless. We have been there for each other for wins, losses, bad beats, final tables, sweating cash games, etc...and all help each other to improve. Our 'training' may be completed, but we will continue to help each other get even better. We've all come a long way.I'm looking forward to our 'graduation' get together in LA in January. Jamie's going to look so cute in his cap & gown! Thanks again Steve, and of course thank you to the 'boys'AA
