iggymcfly 0
Well I didn't mean laying down the set on a dry board. Just when there was a straight possibility out there, and you are sure your opponent has one or the other. For instance, I saw someone lay down JJ on an AQJ board against a tight player in a deep cash game a couple weeks ago and from the action, I'm about 98% sure it was the correct play. EurekaKid 0
When you make the final table, get all your friends into the arena and act as obnoxious as possible. High five them all every time you win a pot, even if its a blinds steal.

Al Smooth 0
The best advice I can give you was already posted earlier...You can't win the tournament on day 1 or 2, but you can lose it.Be ready to fold big hands pre flop if you read the action to be too much for the cards you're playing...with 25/25 and 20k in your stack, you'll have PLENTY of time to make up for a folded pair of 10s later. Trust your reads, work hard to have a good image at the table. It's ok to fold a hand if you think you're beaten but don't back down because of WHO someone is, but rather play every hand as if you've got a 9 inch ****. You have a better read on them from sweating their hole cards on TV all those hours you watched and they have to get a read on you from the hands you show or how you play against them. Remember, you're the next superstar, they just don't know it yet. GL, HF, play well!AlPS - JC, being the chip leader on day 1 or 2 is overrated...just ask Brandie Hawbreaker. Play to win the whole thing guys!

Glad I took him in my hockey pool. Some people might not like flying and would prefer to drive,..some people dont have 10,000 to buy in to main event but would like to try andsattlite in or possable cash games and see some pros. Thats why someone would wanna drive or fly to niagra smartass.

Buddha61 0
I too will be around. Will be nice to meet some of ya. I will be staying at the Days Inn near the casino. First big tournament, first casino tourney, other than the satellites to get it, and definitely first big/deep stack tourney for me
Al Smooth 0
Day 1 in a 20k chip event - Not much action unless your name is Negreanu, Gavin Smith, Sebok etc. The action players will create action, most of theother pros will wait until day two to mix it up unless they have a pretty nutty hand.Day 2 - Short stacks will look to double up eatly or go home fast. In the Festa I think we lost 50-60 people in the first level and a half. Basically...pace yourself, there's really no reason to be all in on day one unless you have the nuts. The structures in the WPT events move slow enough that the end of day 1 will be the 300-600 blind level. My goal is to have 35-50k in chips at the end of day 1 in all 20k tournaments. The chip leader will have around 150kand the chip avg should be around 40k as half the field should be gone. This has been the case in just about EVERY WPT event I've played. Sometimes I get off track and don't stick to the gameplan and don't make it to day 2, sometimes you'll catch a bad break or two. However, if you play solid enough, there should be chances to pick up chips a number of times in day 1 and you can pick your spots and not have to force things.
Dratj 0
Thx for the advice Al. How many WPT events have you played in? Also, congrats on your last cash. I was hoping that you would have a rush and final table.
Buddha61 0
Yea, definitely thanks Al. This being my first true casino tourney other than the satellites to get in the event, I have an idea what to expect, but not really. Just the little bit that you gave lets me know somewhat what to expect.
gatortom64 1
Read Super System 2 or HOH at the table. Then when they think you are a donk, WHAMMO drop the hammer!!
Ben_G 0
Good Luck guys!! I will be there as well but im not playing in the M.E. Also watch because sometimes they release more seats the day before the tournament so there is still a shot for the other event.
