I wanted to take my game from online to live, does anyone know of casinos 3 or less hours away from the chicagoland area that have NL holdem? And does anyone know what age you have to be to play? Also do you know what limits they have? Thanks guys I appreciate it.

resorts & majestic have NL you have to be 21 and its about a hour or so away they are both in NW Indiana

Yeah, NW Indiana is your best bet, but I'm not sure about the games there. I'm from Indianapolis but I typically go down south to Argosy, Belterra, and Ceasar's Indiana. Sorry I can't be more specific, but there are options for you, albeit you do have to be 21.Alpha

I live in Chicago, and very much in favor of playing live games, but the time charge at all the Chicago casinos for NL games is ridiculous. The last time I played in one (which was a while ago) it cost $7/dealer (which is 30 min). The game runs slowly, and you're paying $14 an hour win lose or draw. If I were you I'd learn how to play Limit Hold 'Em or Omaha 8. The 5/10 games at Resorts are very good.

His internet is for shiiit though.Potawatatatamatamotami or something is in Milwaukee, about an hour and a half away. Also crappy, but slightly less crappy than Majestic. I'd find a bunch of home games. I couldn't imagine not having a decent casino nearby... :(Mark

Thanks guys. Kind of dissapointed about the age though I'm only 18. It's alot of BS if you ask me, you can bet at the racetrack when your 17, but cant play a game of skill untill your 21? Ach!

Indiana and wisconsin are your only choices. NL is not alowed in Illinois for some reason. However Hollywood has a NL tourney every wednesday. Pretty bad stucture though. as already said gotta be 21 though

LOL, NO.seriously, though. resorts has super soft games at all limits in east chicago. have to be 21 though.does anyone know about the horseshoe's poker room? i heard they opened one up, but i haven't played there yet. how are the games, and what limits do they spread?

Can't you gamble in Minnesota casinos if you are 18?? I could be wrong about that. It's pretty far from Chicago, but it's worth a shot if you can't find a game any closer than that.

Google "Rockford Charitable Games". They host Charity Casinos all throughout Northern Illinois and some time spread 2-5 nl. They also have tourneys and stuff but the structure for those suck. I'm not a big fan of these because the play is soooo bad that you get rivered and out drawn alot but if you can overcome that it is pretty good. Also, i think the rake is a little high but... oh well. A good thing for you is that you only have to be 18 to play. Check it out.

And the Rockford Games are ok.Last time I played, I played 1/2NL, they call it "tournament style" though, lol.It was pretty soft, but I didn't play a real long time, wanted to watch the Bulls game, so I made a bad call with 68, hit a straight, made like 120 and headed out, lol.And it's 18+, so you get lots of young donks too.

Trip report -- short and concise: I played it and it's very soft. The tournaments are the suck ... winner take all, although most people will chop at 3 or 2. Cash games are very beatable. Most people roll in, lose their money and let themselves get replaced by more donks ASAP.
