  1. Can't you gamble in Minnesota casinos if you are 18?? I could be wrong about that. It's pretty far from Chicago, but it's worth a shot if you can't find a game any closer than that.
  2. Honestly, I started with a total of 3 possible buy-ins. Now, I am at 20 buy-ins in a 4 month period by playing only about 2 hours per week in only cash games. If your friend is LOSING 15 buy-ins, he should take some serious looks at the leaks in his game. I would recommend he read Harrington On Hold 'Em. I know that book is geared for N0-Limit Tournaments, but I have found some of the principals to be useful in cash games, especially at the lower limits ($25 or $50).
  3. Real tough play here - tight aggressive player reraises a pot that has alrady been raised. The only thing I can think is that he has a set of 9's. But then again, he only limped into the pot. I would have to reraise his bet. I think that's the only way to truly know where you stand. If you reraise and he reraises you, you definitely know you are beat. If you reraise, I can't see any hand he would have where he would just call. I say reraise and assess the situation from there, but then again I really don't like the situation at all. Hope that helps.

  6. I like the fact that you bet the flop, although I think it could have been a little bigger. I think his raise on the flop definitely lets you know that you are beat. I would have thought he had flopped a set of 4s or 5s. I think it's a definite fold after he raises - you can wait until you have a stronger hand to bust him.
  7. Hey Guys, I'm playing in my first big live no-limit tournament on Saturday - should be about 400 people. When I play live, it's usually a 10 guy sit-n-go, or a cash game, so I don't have much big tournament experience. I do play in multi-tabe tournaments online, but never had much success. I definitely think I am a better cash game player, but with $10,000 going to the winner of the tournament, I really want to play in this tournament. I'm going in with a strategy to tighten up my starting hands a lot early on, and gradually become more loose as the tournament goes on. Does anyone ha
  8. Ya I tried that and I still can't get it to work. Does anyone else convert hands from Party and wants to tell me how to do it?? I would really appreciate it considering it takes me about 10 minutes to make the hand easy to read by hand. Thanks. It really should workJust post a whole hand in this thread, and I'll try to convert it, if it works, i'll tell you what I did. Here's an entire hand Blink. 11. Definitely need a NL vs Limit section not just holdem.agreed.
  12. I agree with Jesse. You got all of your money in with the best possible pre-flop hand. If he is going to suck out on you with pocket 10s then there is nothing you can do about it...just variance. Nice play.
  13. ******** PLEASE DON'T MOVE THIS TO THE TEXAS HOLD-EM FORUM THAT NOBODY READS!!!!!!*************So I have been playing at the Party $25 max buy-in no-limit tables for a little over a month and have managed to turn my $100 into $350, so I have some experience at these tables. This hand really bothered me so I figured I would post it here and get some feedback. Also, I know you are supposed to use the converter when you post a hand here but I could not figure out how to use it. I tried to make the hand as easy to read as possible. I know the converter is probably really easy to use, but maybe I
