Actuary 3
i dunno, all us bonuswhores are maintaining solid profit/hour rates, all the while avoiding tilt and downswings.yeah, I was going to note that the rb & bonus are saving many.nonetheless, it's a disturbing trend that the poker earnings seems to be diminishing. Likely related to the fact that winnig players were posting more and perhaps over long term, the true win rates are much lower and these same posters would not have been so enthusiastic had they known then what they know now.I also tend to think the competition is getting better. CobaltBlue 662
poker is getting tougher.no doubttoo many posters are struggling.I wish the explanation was that simple...even though that would suck. Honestly though, I still run into plenty of fish willing to go crazy/broke with trash. I think it's a nice combination of bad game selection, poor play, and running badly...and yet I'm still breaking even...so it's certainly not as bad as it could be. I still feel I have a significant edge over a huge majority of the field.

I don't think I will ever make less than 4K a month, and that is running way bad. Rakeback is my new best friend, and I thank abbaddabba for telling me about all the great things that go along with it. Thank you.
Actuary 3
how do the 100% rb sites make money again?sell ad space ?I just dont' harldy playcan't bring myself to do it
Abbaddabba 0
I think the biggest change is at the micros and low stakes. There're tons of mediocre/tight players really making an effort to progress. I think the reduction (and in some cases elimination) of rake more than makes up for the increase in skill level at the lower stakes though.

Abbaddabba 0
A lot of sites dont offer it to all players. Wpex is one of the few that doesnt collect any rake from anyone.
Actuary 3
A lot of sites dont offer it to all players. Wpex is one of the few that doesnt collect any rake from anyone.so with them there's no rb.there's just no rake at all?
Abbaddabba 0
Ok, they actually collect rake. But i mean they dont KEEP rake from anyone. At absolute, probably half hte players are playing without any benefits except the occasional reload. Maybe 1/4 are getting rb + reloads... and the rest are doing the reloads consistantly, but not getting rb.
Actuary 3
ok, so with the wpx rake-redistribution, it rewards the better players. As opposed to no rake at all, which is nuetral, si ?
iggymcfly 0
It is neutral. They just take rake and give it back to you exactly like you were never raked. The only reason they take it at all is so that you know what you're getting by playing with WPEX instead of one of the major sites.

I guess only the player who wins the pot pays the rake.Somehow I was getting in my head that each participant in the pot was effectively paying rake.

It's really nice when you can 4 table 2-4 or 3-6 and just on rakeback alone be making $1500 a week:) You should try it, that is, if you like 6K a month for free, just as long as youre a break even player. And if you decide to actually win a few thousand, add it to your 6K.
Abbaddabba 0
$1,500 in rakeback a week 4 tabling takes a ton of hours. But yeah. If you put in the necessary hours, a pretty mediocre player can pull in a 6 figure income.

Jordan 1
I'm changing my goals to $5k - $7k for the month. I've had a rough go of it thus far, and I'm not one to quit..it's just with my DUI and moving out, I really feel the pressure of making "x" amount this month...and 10k is just a goal I'd love to meet after I get settled in my new apartment. Running poorly probably hasn't helped..but I know I can still bust out some hands and get back into the black on the month. I just don't want to focus so much on $10k...and hopefully just keep working on decisions and bust out a profitable month.Anyways, that's that for me...who knows, I still could get to $10k, but I'm not going to worry if I don't.- Jordan
TheCinciKid 0
Just finished 3rd in the FCP Midnight Oil Tourney for $320 or so profit. Turned around what had otherwise been a pretty rough night for me getting sucked out on hard in a couple of other tourneys and a cash game. Also, even though I really wanted to win, it was the deepest I've been in a Tourney in what seems like ages and should give me a confidence boost. I got over that final 2 table hump that I've been having trouble with and made it to the final 3. I'm not sure I like the way I played the final hand, but I'm not super pissed about it or anything. All in all it was a pretty good night. Now if I could just start winning at LHE again.
dimseven 0
Placed 5th in the $33+R satellite to the $1050 event. Only top 2 get in. I got my $93 back. It's better than bubbling I guess.
