AcesUp46 0
I watched the World Series of Blackjack a few days ago and saw this Dave Stann dude. Man, that guy is really annoying...and annoying in a very annoying way. Mike Matusow and Hellmuth are annoying but this guy brings it to a whole new level.Anyway, I looked him up online and it says on this website http://www.vegastripping.com/features/feat...re_id=38&page=4that he almost exclusively plays No-Limit Texas Holdem. Any idea how he's done in tourneys so far? It'll be really funny to watch him get into a verbal battle with Hellmuth/Matusow/Tony G/Men the Master. Especially since he's no where near as good in poker as he is in blackjack. I can see Men the Master telling him "Luckily for you, I'm not drinking Corona. If not, I would spit at you..." ala the USPC.

After about an hour, I gave him advice a few times including an answer to a question that he had. He then said, "Why don't you leave me an autographed copy of your book?" in a manner that led me to believe that he had enough of my advice. TylerDurden82 0
I like the guys style myself probably because it kind of like mine and scarey thing is we kind of look alike. So I've been a fan of his for years and from what I can recall he's only playied holdem for a year or so now so he's still in a learning process for sure. He's wicked smart though from what I can tell, chatted with him a couple of times. Dudes been into a little bit of it all even caught him in a crappy movie.

Ralphy 0
Tournament blackjack requires more skill than regular blackjack especially with a few extra variables thrown in like the BK power chip and KO card.I'd like to see Dave Stann get his effeminate little head kicked in. He was more than just a little annoying. His goal is to pick out one or two people at the table and heap non-stop abuse on them.
Wandigo 1
18.) Do you get angry when people play against strategy at a blackjack table? Would you leave or try to adjust to their playing?DS: oh man, please. ****os who get pissed at ploppies who play the 'wrong' way are just morons. their 'wrong' play has the same chance of HELPING you as much as it does of HURTING.What's a ploppie? Dirtydutch 8
By Dutch- Sunday, February 12, 2006Hollywood Dave Is a Conceded ******I've always hated Hollywood Dave, so when I heard he had his own blog I figured it would be a good chance to laugh my *** off. Mission accomplished:"So i am literally at a point of insanity over this grand, lethargic equilibrium in my life. i scream it to the hills inside my mind, and still i do not break free. we're talking more than money -- a lot more. money, sex, love, destiny. notches on the belt. big goddamn notches. no more baby steps. Iam the ****ing baby step king, i swear to christ. so NO, there is no more "oh but look how far you've come" -- as of this moment, **** THAT. i want what i've been working towards my whole life. and we both know its not just the turn of that card that puts me in 2nd place instead of 1st, or the girl i lost because i was terrified of truly deserving the love she gave me so freely, so sweetly, so absolutely completely that it filled my heart and my soul and made me whole inside. the only thing that ever calmed the fire. the only thing that's ever made any sense" I find it funny that he was concerned enough about looking smart to cram "lethargic equilibrium" in there-- with a proverbial sledgehammer, no less-- but otherwise uses the grammar of someone with... well, an internet blog. Here's an idea: instead of trying to describe things with big words that don't actually describe them, why don't you apply capitalization, which falls well within the intellectual grasp of a 9 year old? That rant, incidentally, was the result of him losing a small stakes poker tournament, in which he was clearly over matched. After seventy-four painful paragraphs, or so, he stated that the top prize was "so beneath [him]," and that "[he's] ready for [his] MILLIONS," anyway. He then went on for another three-hundred paragraphs about how great he was (which I wouldn't mind if he weren't so annoyingly stupid), then ended with a barrage of hilarity that still has me in stitches, not only as I type this, but also as you read it:"That's right, i'm special and i ****ing know it. Prove me wrong. I've read Nietschze, too, ****ers. You can't do it."First off, I don't believe you have read Nietzsche. I believe your lifetime reading list looks like this:Goosebumps #2, #12, #387The Cliff Notes to The Great GatsbyThe Da Vinci CodeAnd second, I think most people who've read Nietzsche can spell Nietzsche. Dipshit.

Athos 0
Some snips from his imdb.com page (hmmm....wonder who wrote it?)http://imdb.com/name/nm1307726/bio"Never one to speak softly, his art became increasingly graphic and non-traditional. Soon he formed boygirl productions, a performance company that "explores the boundaries of artistic expression through the often experimental, explicit, unexpected, and unusual lens of cutting edge theater and film" (from mission statement); the name comes from the androgyny inherent within all of us, the similarities that make us human.""Immediately he found success in the independent film world, playing leading roles in many edgy, festival-bound projects. He has stayed active, building an impressive resume of LA-based theater (Shakespeare at The Actors' Gang, for one), cult movie hits (like the slasher horror flick, Goth), cyberhacker gems (Corbin Bernsen's Bellacam), as well as countless breakout roles in films that are still flying low under the Hollywood radar, awaiting their day in the sun.""A member of MENSA (but too cool to hang out with those brainiacs), Dave found early in his acting career -- when the money wasn't always as plentiful as the acting gigs -- that he could make a lucrative income playing blackjack and counting cards. He had just the right combination of acting ability, intelligence, and a trademark spark of in-your-face attitude to be successful at this cloak-and-dagger enterprise. His alter-ego `Hollywood Dave' was born and for years made quite a supplemental income off the green felts of Las Vegas; eventually (like many before him) the casinos caught on and made it increasingly difficult for him to play without getting barred." After reading this, I like him a little bit. There's nothing better than unsolicited advice at the poker table. Funny how people who do this feel slighted, like they were giving someone a gift and it wasn't accepted. I may be confused, but it doesn't seem like someone would make that comment if there was an even exchange of thoughts and information. I usually give someone the benefit of the doubt the first time they do it. But a few times in an hour? stfu and get over yourself already.

Hollywood Dave is a pretty conceited and overpretentious guy.I hope you were being ironic, otherwise, realize that this is not a word. Since "pretentiousness" is a poor quality already, it need not be emphasized with the "over" prefix.Yeah, thats right, I'm the grammar police.
InsanityCubed 0
He is a very good tournament blackjack player (which requires a large amount of skill), and his antics at the table are designed to do one thing: induce mistakes from the other players. He's a gigantic ******, but I've seen him goad people into making horrible plays against him at the tables, so there is some method to his whiny madness.
