Shizzmoney 0
From ESPN's Bill Simmons during a chat yesterday: Seth, NYC: When you play in the World Series of Poker, who would you most like to eliminate? Would it be Chris Ferguson just so that you could tell him that there is only one Jesus and he was born in French Lick? Bill Simmons: (1:39 PM ET ) I'd like to eliminate that Mike Mancuso guy ... no, that's not his name. It's Mike M. and he has a goatee, he calls himself Mike the Mouth. That guy is the anti-Christ. Always good for a laugh in the morning. Mike Mancuso lol wasn't he in the Gotti family or something?
speedz99 145
Simmons doesn't know **** about poker. I have a bad feeling his WSOP reports are going to be horrible.
StrippersNBlow 0
Thanks for the link, I'll have to check him out more. I couldn't agree more with this view more.Jow: Why have you not exchanged e-mail conversations with Anna Benson?Bill Simmons: (1:16 PM ET ) Because she's loathsome and doesn't deserve the attention. She's not even that cute anymore -- she's starting to look like Elvira, or one of those porn stars that tried to set too many "most guys in one day" records. POW!
FoxwoodsPro 0
Ya I read bill simmons all the time, probably because hes a boston boy and writes about the sox and celtics all the time. He is ****ing hilarious, funniest sports writer by far.J

Naismith 0
I've been reading Simmons for years and he's a fantastic writer. Very entertaining. However, when he writes about poker, I want to, to borrow one of his phrases, "light myself on fire". When he writes about pop culture, he's the best. I love that he talks NBA, even though he's pretty clueless about that, too.

He's not a stats guy if that's what you mean, but he knows more than the average bear.Bill Simmons hates Rick Reilly. And I completely agree with him.Reilly isn't even in the same league. So he's not a poker nerd, big deal.I'm not looking for him to quote the odds on making a runner runner flush...but if he's going to write about poker he should do some research. I expect more from the guy. Wrong. He knows plenty about the NBA. He's not a stats guy if that's what you mean, but he knows more than the average bear.He knows more about the NBA than the vast majority of NBA writers and announcers. You're still a dink for thinking he shouldn't have to know about poker even though he's apparently going to the WSOP.

College sports don't do it for me.I like college football a little, but that's about it. I know, I'm unamerican. In the fall and winter, yes. As far as I know, Caple writes an "Off Base" column each week all spring and summer about baseball that is fantastic. For NFL columns, I read Pasquarelli on Fridays, Peter King on Mondays (CNNSI) and Gregg Easterbrook on Tuesdays (nfl.com). Hobbes 1
Gregg Easterbrook on Tuesdays (nfl.com).TMQ. I didn't realize he still had a column going. Is it like his espn column?
Bizzle 0
TMQ. I didn't realize he still had a column going. Is it like his espn column?Same guy, same column. Backstory behind it was when he was on ESPN, he was abruptly let go for something he said about an on-air personality, which wasn't even really that bad (if you google it you can find it). He does have to tone it down at times (IE he can't go nuts on the NFL for being dumb every week) but he still manages to criticize the DirecTV thing every week. Still an outstanding column, with a new theory or two that he has added recently.

Ron_Mexico 4,219
. You're still a dink for thinking he shouldn't have to know about poker even though he's apparently going to the WSOP.Why should he be any different than 3500 of the other players? I get your point. And I read Pasquerelli and some others if the subject is good.I'd like to read Wilbon and Kornheiser, but I don't spend enough time online to locate their columns.PTI is one of my top 5 shows on TV. Any show, not just sports.I disagree Koop. Read his columns. They aren't race based very ofter. He's no Willam Rhoden. He just wrote a good article about Candace Parker and her "dunks" today. Check it out. Whitlock's weekly NFL article this year with his top ten whatever it was list was very good. IMOI'm glad I "had" credibility with you. I'm sad it's gone.I will watch MNF because of Kornheiser this year. Even if my Phins ain't playing.

Even if my Phins ain't playing.Sucks to be a dolphins fan eh? Dolphins are the Patriots *****. Dynasty!!!On another note ya I read every Simmons column and Peter Gammons, and then of course any article bout Bonds and steroids. You guys all concur no HOF or history books for Bonds? Also, dont you think what Bonds did is worse than what Pete Rose did? (a little off topic but im sure interesting responses)J

speedz99 145
As long as the Pats have The Man in the Hooded Sweatshirt on the sidelines and that same front office...they should be fine. Mexico, I see your point as well. I agree PTI is right up there as best on television along with Good Eats.
