InternetExplorer 2,609
I can't believe the amount of bothering other people that LinkedIn does on my behalf. literally emails me any time anyone I am connected with does anything to their profile, so I have to think it's doing the same when I update my photo or whatever. Iphonenkinder 558
I have never tipped on uber. Onoes, and blech. PS took the new gay guy out for drinks. A mezcal something and honey + a gin and citrus and mint. I feel self conscious and drinky, so I left my car at work and am taking a bus home. Still not tipping on uber, but not using the service, and I bought the first round.
BigDMcGee 3,355
Would you tip a cabbie, Frau? If so, what's the difference?
Theraflu 1,035
Our 14 team league, 20 rounds (5 keepers already selected) will be done in just over two hours. I always wanted to do an auction, but never got enough people to agree to it. Those definitely take all day. As someone who drafted Bryce first in a 16 team last year, I can't say I love him at your spot. Outfield is crazy deep, and you'll already have Trouty. I'd go for top 2 or 3 of an infield position. Posey is great with the dual eligibility, but you gotta remember that the Giants are only good every other year, so he'll probably contract AIDS or something from Pence while he's teabagging him. Father in law is having pseudo-emergency heart surgery tomorrow. Wife is extremely close to him. I think it's about as minor a heart procedure as possible, but I don't have all the details. Iphonenkinder 558
I have tipped and overtipped cabbies. The difference is the point of payment. I'm paying in a cab, uber feels prepaid.

Napa Lite 3,279
I saw a lot of drivers won't rate you 5 if you don't tip. I think that's BS, personally. Ratings matter to much to penalize somebody for aomething the service explicitly says you don't have to do. Go on not tipping, FRAU. It's absolutely not necessary. If you're not making enough from fares alone find a different job.
Napa Lite 3,279
There was a cabbie in the parking lot I was hanging out at between riders last week. Felt there might be a showdown if I stayed so I moved up the road to a church parking lot. No riders yet.

Tiltinagain 973
So there were some delays with the movers getting done last night. I won't go into the details because I'm to tired to type it up but I didn't end up leaving for N CA until 7:30. Pulled into my inlaws at 3:45am. Then, though they told my wife the truck would be up here today, they are now saying it will be up here anytime between tonight and Monday. Then today the company followed me on Twitter. Can't be random, right? I figure they're probably wanting to watch out for the shit storm I rain down on them about all of this throughout the inter webs. Which I won't do until after I get by stuff but I will most definitely do shortly thereafter.

hank213 1,823
Not once have I heard somebody have a good experience with a moving company. My experience was quite adequate. Of course, it was an in town move.
BigDMcGee 3,355
I have tipped and overtipped cabbies. The difference is the point of payment. I'm paying in a cab, uber feels prepaid. . Because you're physically handing over the money to a cabbie, you feel guiltied into tipping or something, but with an Uber driver you can just hop off, guilt free? That doesn't make sense to me, particularly since it's the same work ( and uber costs significantly less most of the time). Now, if you're just not carrying cash, I get that. And it you never tipped cabbie's, I'd also get not tipping Uber drivers. But tipping one not the other seems like an arbitrary distinction.
Napa Lite 3,279
Last night was a dud. Only 2 small fares (neither at bar close even though I got a prime bar close waiting spot) and so I'll have to hope to get 2+ riders an hour for the rest of the peak hours in order to make my guaranteed fee for last night. It was pretty cold last night so I assume that contributed to the low numbers. Hopefully when it warms up thurs/fri/sat will be popping and I won't be wasting my time. Napa Lite 3,279
I invested in some alfalfa ground for this upcoming season with my brother. I originally offered to pay 50% of the rent with both of us paying 50% of the spring payment for a 40/60 split of the profit and he told me to GFM. He countered with I pay the full spring payment and I'll get $200 back on my investment when he eventually sells. Or whenever he decides to pay me back. And I accepted. I wouldn't do so great on Shark Tank.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
Just out of curiousity, if you're footing half the bill, why would you accept less than 50% equity? Is there a ton of work that he's doing and you're just the money? And are you getting only $200 out of the deal or 200% return? If I may ask, what's your outlay and what's the risk? This is curious. You have way more interesting things going on than I do. I just golf, watch tv and occasionally go out for dinner and get drunk.
