Napa Lite 3,278
The girls from last night both work as IT recruiters and when I said I work with excel they're like we could probably place you somewhere for $35/hr. I told her I'd need at least $40 more jokingly than anything and she was almost offended. But then I got to thinking about it and to give up my job security and cushy situation and great benefits (her words, they place people at my company and know how we compare) and not to mention that 40% of my "raise" would go to taxes I might actually need $40/hr to go to contract work. I don't think I'm worth $40/hr, especially doing mainly programming type stuff, btw.
Napa Lite 3,278
OH, they played nothing but censored songs at the strip club last night! Censored! I asked a stripper and she's like "yeah, I don't know either."
Ron_Mexico 4,219
i just dont want to be a guy who goes to a strip club alone. Probably stupid but thats it. So you deprive yourself of something you clearly want to do because, you're blocking yourself
Tiltinagain 973
I much prefer real world nice body, pretty face over the Barbie doll, stereotyped stripper look. Just way sexier to me. Sounds like a fun night Napa. Too bad the two girls bailed on you though. And, I'm with SA. I can't see me going to a strip club alone. Hell, I don't even like going out to a restaurant for dinner alone.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
I have no issue with doing stuff alone sometimes. Essay should work on that. He's gonna need that skill. KIDDING
JSHamm 9
Hell, I don't even like going out to a restaurant for dinner alone. Wrong. No one counts how many trips to the salad bar you make or how gregarious you are with the blue cheese ladle.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
I don't totally get that mentality. Is it being worried about what strangers think about you? I would prefer to go to a bar/restaurant with friends, but sometimes alone is cool too. Sit at the bar, eat your food, read something on your phone. At a movie, who cares? You can't talk during anyway. At a strip club. Do you really need a buddy there while you are trying to get a hard on or filling your spank bank? I get on some level you guys being younger and still sort of caring (wrongly) what strangers think, but it's such a waste of time imo. Hell, I remember back in the day, there were these regulars at TGIFridays (my brother was a bartender there) that were there 3 nights a week, alone. They came so much, they knew everyone that worked at the bar and got to know the other regulars. Not saying to do it that much. Maybe I just like watching people mix and mingle and make up stories about them. Then, with a proper lubrication, I'll make a quip, it'll be funny, because I'm good, then I can be in the mix if I choose

Tiltinagain 973
I do eat at restaurants alone quite a bit with my current job, I just don't like to. And I rarely sit at the bar. If I'm going to be there alone I'd much rather pick out a table where I can people watch.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
But the drinkers and the people trying to get some new ass are at the bar. Better then watching the family of 4 on their big night out At least I think so. Drinkers always more entertaining
Essay21 2,385
It makes me feel bad about myself and self concious. If im there alone i feel weird and wouldnt be able to have any fun. Sometimes i feel that way when i go to the mall alone so i just leave because i cant be there anymore.

It certainly couldn't hurt. Don't you also feel bad about yourself when you're home alone all weekend too?
mrfritz 893
I do stuff alone. You have to get rid of giving a shit about what others think of you.
Essay21 2,385
I dont feel bad when im home alone cause im used to it and i have so many things to distract me like sports and netflix and youtube and porn. Out in the world i see some loser at the casino and somewhere inside my mind i know that im the same type loser and it makes me sad. At the casino alone on friday night cause i have nothing else to do. At the strip club alone would just make it worse, i guess, so i havent done it. 0lus the strip clubs here suck after the law changes so its not worth it.
Tiltinagain 973
I'd rather be at the casino alone. Nobody to worry about if they are wanting to leave or whatever. Plus, we aren't playing together anyway. Except wheni lose and the wife wins. That's good. Staying at the MGM tonight because everywhere else was $200 plus for tonight. Even the MGM is $129 so maybe there's something going on in town this week? Taking some cash in case I get a wild hair to play. Mostly hoping nobody commits suicide down the hall causing police men to wake me up/kick me out at 7am tomorrow morning.
Ron_Mexico 4,219
You can't pick up a room at the Luxor for $50? I see those emails all the time. I guess, why bother if you aren't paying What are the strip club laws in Missouri? Or Kansas? I still have no idea where you live

Ron_Mexico 4,219
Man, I am so happy I don't live in one of those shitty states. No snow, no stupid laws worrying about consenting adults. Florida, just plenty o crazy, and that's it

Scroom 436
If you have a ticket on a gravy train, your objective should be to take as much money AWAY from the game as you can. Do not keep recirculating it back into the game, perpetually doubling back down. During the poker boom, I lived by this. I played at a level I knew I could beat and relentlessly took as much money out of poker as I could. I rarely moved up but for occasional bum-hunts. Now that money is gone and the game is FAR harder, I'm fine. How many former 'big name heroes' are screwed? Or living Eskimo Clark type lives, hoboing from one little hit to the next? Everyone who made gajillions in tech in the late 90's lost it if they stayed in. All those realtors with high school diplomas making 175K a year in 2004 and 2005, they got ruthlessly culled in the reckoning of 08-09. The guys in the oil and gas industry making 100K a year in the Dakotas or Houston driving a truck, the ongoing layoffs are looking to be biblical... A friend of mine just got sent packing from Bakken. 4 solid years clearing low six figures for a relatively trivial industrial skill. What does he have to show for it? A nice 2013 truck (paid), 40K in equity in a house he now can't afford and 4 years worth of lighting money on fire during multi-annual Vegas debauchery trips like some dumb coon. And 9 grand in the bank. The mistake they all make is bulking up an unsustainable lifestyle when things are good, leaving them vulnerable when things change. Everyone does this. They're all idiots. I cannot wait until this current equities bubble pops. When it happens nobody knows but man oh man, its going to be hilarious.
Napa Lite 3,278
I wish I had done that during the poker boom. And also that I hadn't just given up on bitcoins when I first heard about them when they came out 10 odd years ago.
