LG was second at +8. I haven't updated today yet.

loogie 115
I have been way too sober lately, and my writing is suffering. My panel (like finals) is next Tuesday and all off my projects have at least one fatal flaw. Additionally, I agreed to write a 30-sec spot for a local ad agency and receive the brief tomorrow. The pressure is officially on.Thus, on my way home I bought a handle of Canadian Club, Don Draper's whiskey of choice, and I just got off the phone with my old roommate about procuring a decent amount of non-decent weed. Hopefully, things are about to turn around.I must admit that it sucks to be reliant on substances to help fuel creativity...but there comes a point when you gotta suck it up and, well, suck it up.When I'm off the shit, I get very angst-filled regarding society. Mainly, its obsession with religion. My apostasy (Speedz, that means the loss of one's religion) is peaking. I'm reading The God Delusion by Richard Dawkins, and it's pretty much exactly what I've believed my whole life. I grew up in an extremely Christian family. I probably know the Bible better than Balloon Guy and Braveheart combined. It just never felt right to me, especially the part about how lucky I was to be born in America under the one, right religion. BG likes to associate evolution with racism, but it doesn't get much more ethnocentric than this belief.During my entire tenure as a Christian, I never once felt motivated to try and convert someone to Christianity. It's like when I tried to sell food packages and giant freezers to people and never made a sale. It was a total scam, and I couldn't bring myself to dupe anyone. I have morals and ethics. However, now that I am embracing my burgeoning atheism, I want to bring everyone to the light.Balloon Guy is hopeless. He's too afraid of his entire world crumbling apart to listen to reason, and he basks in his undeserved superiority. However, I think there's hope for Braveheart. Deep down, I think he's starting to understand. Being established in society and having a family makes it difficult to make the leap, but it certainly is refreshing.

It's too conversational in here. If we play the most replies per thread started (non super thread division), I bet I'd do really well.

speedz99 145
I'm at my parents' house at the moment...I'm having dinner with my mom while my dad's out of town, and I came here early to get some use out of their hammock. She's currently tutoring some kid that she used to teach (she's a first grade reading specialist), which I'm finding odd. I mean, the kid is from a pretty bad part of town...I'm guessing that his house could fit in our basement. He was brought here by his mom in their shitbucket car, which pulled in next to my mom's new-ish BMW. And at some point during this situation, his mother will be giving my mother twenty bucks, or whatever she charges to work with the kid for an hour.Just seems strange. I understand that it probably isn't, since she's a good teacher, his parents obviously care about his education, it's a fair transaction for everyone, and it's just a fact of life that some people have more money than others...but, you know, it's still weird. I have been way too sober lately, and my writing is suffering.Actually, I thought that whole post was very well written. Although you probably meant comedically. You're right, it wasn't that funny.
