mk 11
Best of 2011 album is almost done. It's looking something like:1. M83 - Intro2. Holy Ghost! - Do It Again3. Tune-Yards - 4. St. Vincent - 5. Real Estate - 6. Laura Marling - 7. Metronomy - 8. Radiohead - 9. Washed Out - 10. Cut Copy - 11. Toro y Moi - 12. Cults - 13. Jay-Z & Kanye - 14. SBTRKT - 15. Clams Casino - Real Shit from a Real N-word16. James Blake - 17. Burial - edit: or it might end up Do It Again at #1 and then Midnight City somewhere within the first few tracks...been sitting with it and not sure which I like better yet. mk_superphone 0
I'd be really surprised if the chairlift album doesn't make like every top ten list for 2012. It's such a good record. Good music + good lyrics s= good songs+good production = great album. Really happy for them
InternetExplorer 2,609
I am constantly falling into this trap of, "oh, it's on this week's top 10, maybe it's something cool?" it is ALWAYS generic, boring indie rock. indie music snobs have the worst tendencies. SilentSnow 1
Been listening to Warpaint a lot lately. Partly because of Theresa, but mostly because they're pretty good.
timwakefield 68
Earl Sweatshirt is back!I think he's probably the most talented OF rapper by like a ton. He sounds so good on this. Really nice beat too.
InternetExplorer 2,609
has anyone heard sufjan's majesty snowbird? there's a soundboard of it, but that's about it as far as I know. wasn't able to find it in the usual places. looks like pitchfork is the source for this mp3. it gets all kinds of awesome at 8:00. , mp3my friend linked it to me sometime in 2007 saying, "this song from sufjan, it's one of his best, but he never put it on any of his albums for whatever reason." at the time, all we had was the shitty youtube video. sure wish he had cut some of what he did in 2007 (oboe and backup vocals for david garland? what?) to actually record this song. ShakeZuma 585
I'm listening to and enjoying Mikal Cronin. phew, I was fucking going crazy trying to figure out where I heard of this guy and why I downloaded his album. shit is gnar brah. I know it's way early, but I'm gonna go ahead and make the call of this album being my summer album. it's got all the makings.
ShakeZuma 585
oh yeah has anybody seen the bonnaroo lineup? I mean I'm almost tempted to go. radiohead, bon iver, the snins, tuneyards, black lips, the antlers, etc (just going down the list obviously). but yeah, I mean I'm not actually gonna go, but I bet it'd be sweet. probably get some dirty hippy ass too. maybe I should go.
