Iphonenkinder 558
EMAI can't get enuff. I'm blocking out most of 2012, just me and that album.BTW, I listen to music via my apple tv and iCloud. It crashed twice last night--is iCloud really that terrible or is my apple tv going bad? mk 11
I guess we should start talking about our favorite music of 2011, yes?
timwakefield 68
PITCHFORK ALREADY DID THAT FOR ME TYVMBut actually, Charles Bradley and Colin Stetson would be well-high on my list. I may make an actual list if that's a thing we're all gonna do (I think we should).EDIT: Actually looking at their list now, Colin Stetson did make it, although at a pitifully and disturbingly low #44 (of 50). Charles Bradley unsurprisingly did not get a mention, despite putting out one of the all-around-best soul/funk albums in a very long time.
mk 11
yeah, that charles bradley album is radi vote people make their personal lists then perhaps we can compile and i can make a compilation best of '11 album.

timwakefield 68
Clams Casino - Instrumentals mixtapeYup!Com Truise - Galactic MeltI'm so put off by his (their?) name that I've never listened to a single song. It just seems aggressively uninspired (the artist's name, that is). The Weeknd - House of Balloons, Thursday, Echoes of SilenceYup! Actually I haven't listened to Echoes of Silence yet. AraabMuzik - Electronic DreamYup!Rustie - Glass SwordsI listened to one or two tracks on youtube when it first came out, and I keep meaning to actually get it and listen to the rest of it.Have you listened to ? They're really fucking good, I feel like you might like them. That goes for anybody else too. It's (experimental) hip-hop.

It's (experimental) hip-hop.Yeah, I dig it.I somehow forgot to include Burial's Street Halo EP, which was my favorite music of the year and St. Vincent's Strange Mercy which constantly surprises me every time I listen. I think Annie Clark would be a huge star if she ever wanted to be i.e. if she ever made a simple pop album. I'm not saying I wish she would or anything; I'm glad she makes really interesting music...just an observation.

timwakefield 68
his beats thoughthey're illOk you twisted my arm, I'll give him a go. And yeah, I miss what. Waffles is a nice backup and I've also been checking up on some of my bookmarked music blogs that I haven't checked forever and finding some amazing stuff so that's good, but...I miss what, even just for looking stuff up like guest spots and compilations. I keep checking http://whatstatus.info/ semi-hourly and they did say they thought it'd be back today, so hopefully real soon. Related: probably the best jazz blog around, if anyone's interested. Very sexy Matana Roberts concert performing Coin Coin just up this week. You gotta click the post title to get to the comments. Mostly flacs too, which is fantastic.
