Henry....if you do get let go....would you ever consider moving to vegas if an opportunity presents itself for the same type of position? are there other casinos near chi-town than the one you work at?good luck with that shiz

Ok, I'm starting to get a little freaked out.Yesterday and today, I've gotten numerous calls from co-workers checking up on me because apparently there's a rumor going around the boat that I got fired Wednesday.I certainly didn't hear anything, I do know of another guy who I think got fired Wednesday, just not sure how I got lumped in with this news.

Hopefully.The 3 guys I met up with tonight were all co-workers, one of which is my floorperson and sometimes pit manager. He knew that there was a rumor going around but had no idea if I was getting whacked or not.
Wow.. this is giving me stress...
No idea.HR wouldn't tell me. I'd get called to the shift office, and the shift manager would handle things. That's what happened to the other guy who did get fired Wednesday. If I was on the chopping block, I don't see why they wouldn't have done it Wednesday as well. I was there all day.
aaand more stress just thinking about "not knowing" wtf?

Badbeat got hit last night for 90k at a 3/6 limit table. All the regulars were pissed. They built the pot and a bunch of players that were sitting with less than $30 got the money. I didn't even know the 3/6 game was in the pot.

I'm trying so hard to have a good day today. We're supposed to be taking the kid to the Yanks/Jays game this aft, so I'm looking forward to that. And tonight I'm going with the girls to see SATC 2, so I'm looking forward to that. But - was up this morning at 630 with a nightmare and has been whining and falling over, and just generally miserable all day. Think I can trick him into thinking that 11 is actually noon and he should go for a nap before the game?

I'd like to, but I'm pretty stuck here for awhile. I currently owe more on my condo than it's worth, and the job market is just as shitty in Vegas right now.There are a couple other casinos, but both are about an hour away from me and both would be less money.

I think you should try, so he's not grouchy at the game. That could suck the fun right out of it.

yup, their license is only for machines. They are trying to become a full service casino but the state isn't going for it. Heck, why create new jobs?
