NorthPacific 25
Here's where I may contradict myself....I tend to agree with everything you said. The problem is as you said, is where is the balance, where does the line get drawn? I don't have an answer I'm not gonna pretend to. I want my privacy as much as the next guy, but i also want to be safe and will give up some things as a sacrfice for safety. I think checking phone records is the least I can give up. But I can do without the recording part. That line gets drawn and redrawn every day in the courts across the nation. The lawyers argue that we cross the line. One court agrees, we challenge and the higher courts look at it and decide if the line was crossed or if there need to be new safeguards in place or if we were within our prevalence to serve and protect.Sometimes the line is drawn too far on the side of protecting the criminal and sometimes it gets drawn too far on the side of impinging on our rights, but the line is always being watched.Hey North, you remind me of Mr. Universe in Serenity during this late hour...Can't say I know that correlation. NorthPacific 25
Ok, I'm pretty much all alone still and it's way past my bedtime and I'm all caught up. Can anyone guess that I have a passion on this subject. Brad. Good night and good morning to those who will arrive shortly. Broadcasting your message out for all to read in the thread all alone...The movie version of a sci-fi tv show...I am to understand you are a lawman?yes, I am broadcasting my message, will you convert. DrawingDeadInDM 0
2ndYou read any Piers Anthony? I was always partial to David Eddings and Terry Brooks Ditto! I even enjoyed Lynn Weis & Tracy Hickman's Dragon Lance series. I guess thats why I love Metal music so much. Its in my blood! My mom liks all these authors. JS."Hold'em for Advaned Players" would be more accurately titled "Hold'em for beating tight players". It's actually a less complicated and rigorous book than SSHE. If I recall correctly, Gary Carson once said that if you find yourself in a game in which the advice in HFAP applies get the heck out.Gary Carson = Prick. JS.Contrary to popular belief, Brett is only 7 times as cool in person as he is on here--not 10 times as cool. I'll write up a 'trip report' when I got some free time tomorrow at work. Many, many good times and many Jagerbombs were had. I'm not sure Brett will ever forget--nor will I--the guy who told us all about his Shih Tzu licking his testicles--multiple times. Good times, very good times.

dms26 3
My big thing is that, if they start to assume you are going to do something without you actually doing it, it undermines the biggest and most important thing about the judicial system...."Innocent until proven guilty." Not, innocent until we think you might do something illegal.I will also say if someone blows something up, take care of them however you see fit.so we're supposed to wait until they blow something up, again? dna4ever 2
Morning - Happy FridaySharon - Geeessus still sending good vibes your way babeAllie - I love that you like it sloppy and weird, jsAng - @$#^%@#%@% OK Parental Question Time:I'll try to make this short. Yesterday my daughter (12) comes home and tells this long story about how her and a friend read some note that some girl wrote to some guy. Well the guy finds out about it and gets all mad. Then the guys friend makes up this story about how my daughter and her friend kicked this guy (which she says never happened and is a total lie) so they get called to the principal's office.Later that day the girl that supposedly made up this story said this guy that they supposedly kicked was pissed off and said he was going to bring a gun to school tomorrow and kill both my daughter and her friend.I immediately made a phone call to the princpal, but they were already gone for the day and am waiting on a call now so I can go meet with him in person. I kept Bethany home from school today and I am 99% that its just kids being kids and there was probably no sincere intent behind the threat, but we live in a fucked up world and its not like this shit hasnt happened before. She goes to school in the Ghetto of Nashville that is 99% black and has its share of 'thugs'. Needless to say I dont like the whole situation one bit
