question to daniel reg. erik sagstrom

Hi.I'm from Sweden. As many of you know, one of the worlds leading -ever- "moneymaker" at internetpoker is from Sweden and is namned Erik Sagstrom (plays under the names Erik123 and TheSalmon) I was just wondering if you remember this post you made to him quite a few years ago? :-) Hello poker people Im an 15 years old student from Sweden who just have found out about the newsgroup.. I´ve played poker for 1 year now (started at 14) and im playing with some guys who are 20-25 years old in home games and tries to learn as much as possible about the game of poker. Some people thinks im to young to play and that it may end that I will get addicted to gambling over all though I only play poker and nothing else. Myself i find the game of poker very intresting and i`ve started order books and learn asmuch as possible about the game. It also help me use my brain alot more than i would do otherwis :D). Now im intrested what you "experience" men and woman thinks about start at young age. Is it dangerous for your "health" or is it even better than start when you are older. I would love you even more if you told me about the best poker books (specific game or you theory) besides the theory of poker which i`ve all orderd. Dont`t give me to much information it may prove to be expensive :club:). Hope to see you in years to come (hopefully as loosers) :D / Erik Sagström----------------------------I also started playing at the age of 14. It's not a problem unless you make it a problem. Just make sure it doesn't consume your whole life so early or you will burn out too fast. That happened to me when I was 17, I played every night for about a year and a half. It taught me alot about poker but it hurt my quality of life. Be a kid first a poker player second, and you'll be just fine. Maybe we'll see on the tournament trail in 6 years or so. Daniel Negreanu ----------------------------------I think he should be extremely thankful for your support now that we've all seen what he's accomplished. Have you ever thought of this post?Kind Regards,Peter

I'm from Sweden.
Isn't that vierd?
Speedz, my buddy is going to Phoenix this week. Where is the best place for him to play some limit poker. 3/6 to 5/10
There are really two spots...Casino Arizona and Fort McDowell. Fort McDowell is nicer, but 20 minutes further away and really not worth the drive. Casino Arizona is literally two huge metal tents...but it has a lot of tables and plenty of action at the limits your buddy is looking for.One thing you NEED to tell him...there are TWO Casino Arizonas. Only the one on Indian Bend Rd has poker. The one on McKillups (sp?) does not. To Summarize:Casino Arizona on Indian Bend.

If you know where he's staying and he wants directions you can PM me.
This is the very reason I will make love to you passionately when I come to Arizona.Thank you pumpkin. He likes a classier joint so I'll tell him about the one further away and the one you reccommended.

I may or may not be a little turned on right now.Just make sure he understands that although the Fort is classiER...by no means would anyone ever describe it as a "classy joint".

The Fort sucks, don't go there.
Hmmm what happened did I deal you a bad beat???The fort is a great place for cheap turneys and fun mixed games. Casino AZ's poker room should be called the holdem room. So I have to ask why does it suck when its the lowest rake in the country????

I saw this kid play a few 100/200 hands a little while back and just completely blew me away. I would take him to win over anyone in that game any day. His instincts coupled with proper execution, time and time again was worthy of praise. Every single hand he got in every extra bet, either with the nuts or completely marginal to crap hands. I got chills, kinda like watching Ivey. You cannot teach yourself what this kid knows. My insights on a remarkable talent who is worthy of respect and praise.

Why does everyone automatically jump all over anyone for directing a post at DN? This one happened to be an interesting one, but you decided not to pay any attention to that fact before dismissing the OP. Before I even saw DN's reply, I was thinking "Wow, a first post directed at Daniel that is actually interesting..."Think out of the box for a second, fellas, before you become a bunch of flame-bots.

I have only been once, and the game selection was not very good.It was a weekend, but I had to wait until 7PM for a 6/12 game to start.I put my name on the board for a 20/40 mixed game... surprisingly, no one else joined the list :club:

It's funny you mention the post as Erik and I just talked about it last week.  I told him he never sent me that check for 10% of his winnings! :-)
Cool :club: He did get a lot of negative response to that post as well, good thing he took your advice and not theirs

I dont know you. You might be a good player. But that attitude you seem to have, that one player can be so outstanding in one session of limit poker is just wrong. Alright, he might have maximised his good hands and minimised his bad ones, but saying you could follow his every move and determine whether or not his play was optimal is just like saying you are as good as him. What you saw was probably a good player having a good run of cards. One session of poker is highly dependant on the run of cards, no matter your level of skill. To say that he would beat any player on any given day is just so naive. Thats not limit poker. Limit is longrun.

Well, the thing is that he is one of the worlds most profitable online players... So it's not just over one session...

I know that. I know his ability. I am swedish myself and I have played with Erik. I just wanted to give my opinion on the posters view on this game. I have noticed many pro-wannabes has the same attitude.
