irishtimes 0
For what it is worth:I was out at the Bellagio over Memorial Day weekend. They have a new poker room that includes a high limit room with glass walls. The following players over the course of three days were playing in "the game" at various times. DoyleGiangBerman SrHarmonIveyEkimo ClarkCeline Dion's Husband (this may be where they are winning their money)A guy who looked like Habib but larger. The game looked low key and fairly "tight." Not necessarily tight in play but in mood. Didn't look like anyone was having much "fun." I guess at those levels it ceases to be fun and is all about work.

Sushiman 0
Weird, why would those guys travel to AC to play? I would imagine memorial day action at Vegas is plenty good. Ivey I would understand but Doyle being there seems kinda weird.
Socrates 0
Eskimo wasn't playing the Big Game this past weekend when it was going on. He was actually sitting outside the room playing 400/800 stud.

Meatwad 0
I guess at those levels it ceases to be fun and is all about work. Some insight might be seen in Greenstein's poker trails interview: "Why is my bankroll obviously so large? It’s funny that people have decided I am extremely rich because I give money to charity. When I no longer need to make money, I will stop playing in side games. "

irishtimes 0
You may be right about Eskimo not actually playing in the game. He went into the room and was standing but I didn't see him sit. The reason this was memorable is that I was playing in the $540 tourney and some dumbass said there goes that guy ummm what's his name... Yukon Jack and me and another guy laughed or ass off at him. Socko669 0
Pretty much every pro has gone broke at least once or twice. They are by nature gamblers, and its often the gambling away from the table that breaks their bankroll. For a lot of guys money is nothing more than green coupons for more action. In addition, a lot of pros move up to the higher or highest stakes and get busted out because they have no room for variance at the level with their bankroll. I have to admit that when im at casino i have to fight the urge to play other games...even though i love poker and it is my most profitable game. but that roulette table and that damn 3- card poker are so much fun lol
yeffy 0
Pretty much every pro has gone broke at least once or twice. From the stories Linda G tells (dealer ar Bellagio with a blog) Eskimo goes broke more like once or twice a month. He is almost in the same league as Sam Grizzle. They ride a roller coaster of getting staked, making a big score, jumping into bigger games, and then going broke.
dms26 3
Maybe I need to go to Vegas and become a personal finance manager for poker players. :-)
Landon_McFly 0
Jerry Buss (LA Lakers owner) plays a lot of poker and I think he's made some WPT final tables. Not sure if he plays cash games, but I'm sure that his BR can handle the big game.

From what I hear, he is a smart guy and good enough at poker to know not to stop into that game.
