I Heart Caffeine

You're goddamn right if I made coffee it'd taste like Tim's. It'd taste like Canada. It'd taste like coffee. It would not taste like a tiny tub of year-old second-grade grains that someone bought a $300 machine to run hot water through.True story: I have worked at a Second Cup and a Tim Horton's. I spent a summer working at Second Cup when I was 17, and while doing so, committed certain crimes that provided my initial poker bankroll. I spent one day working at a Tim's a few years back - I left because the khakis they made us wear didn't have pockets, and goddamn if I was going to stand behind a counter all day without being able to stick my hands in my pockets.
You have been on fire with your stories lately. I love them all.

Funny story, I'm home for the holidays and my mom asks if I want to go to the spa today for a massage. I'm like sure. She says she knows this place that has cheap massages. We went to this "spa" massa

Wow...you seem to have an IQ that is lower than Britney Spears' IQ. And a sense of humour that could be equated to, say, watching someone hit their hand with a hammer, laughing about it and, only late

So you are saying that you operated as a Second Cup but kept all of the sales in your pockets?

I was working as a legitimate Second Cup. It would be inaccurate to say I kept "all" the sales in my pockets.

It would be inaccurate to say I committed "Grand" theft. And I'm unsure of the statute of limitations, hence the quotation marks. I mean, not really, because I'm pretty sure hockey message board postings could not be used as evidence, but it's funnier this way.It was also fun bringing home ~$100-$200/day in change to roll up, having thousands in rolled up change stuck in my bottom drawer, then hauling a knapsack full down to the CNE casino, since my local bank was also where I went to make change for Second Cup, and I thought they'd be suspicious if all of a sudden I showed up one day wanting to change thousands into large bills.

Off topic but the rolled change reminded me that my parents had a huge glass jug that they filled with pennies for some 13 years. I really wanted this bike and it was like $400+ dollars and I was too young to have a job. So they said if I rolled the pennies I could use it towards the bike. It took so long. Felt like months to roll all those pennies but I did and it was enough to buy the bike. The only issue was getting it to the bank. We got them in the car and then had to have the security guard at the bank help us get them all into the bank. Carry on.

You are not out of the clear yet.So if you were winning at poker why did you need to keep "some" change in your pockets. I understand that the change maybe hard to exchange at the bank because you may need some security guard to help you take it into the bank.

This was back when there was only 5/10 LHE and 10/20 LHE. I played 5/10. Would've been been about 2001-2002.

That's awesome. I was pretty sure it was going to end up being $76 or something. That is an absolute buttload of pennies. You probably would've got more keeping them in the glass jug and taking them to a scrap metal yard. Though that's probably illegal.

I wasn't winning at poker yet. I had deposited $25 at Party Poker that summer and started playing. I think it was $75 by the end of the summer. The change went towards me having a bankroll to play 5/10 at the end of that summer at the CNE! Not surprisingly, the quality of play at the 5/10 games was significantly below that of the penny and nickel games online.

Talking about change, someone went into my van last night and stole about $10 in coins. Nothing else of value was taken. This is the 1st time something like this has happen to me in my neighbourhood.I believe these no good kids went to each vehicle and try to open each car. Unfortunately my van was unlocked.

My buddy used to walk home in college and check people's doors randomly. If they were unlocked, he would take their change (usually less than $1) and lock their doors for them. He said it was a small fee for them to have him lock their doors. He added that it was amazing the valuables people left in their cars with the doors unlocked in a large apartment parking lot near a college.

When I lived in a house with 9 ppl, I would throw the forks in the garbage to see how people react to the frustration of no white person utensils. My buddy ate his steak with chopsticks. Funny stuff. Other people lost their mind and blamed it on everyone but me. It caused chaos.
