If you want the honest route, stay at a hotel for 48 hours. You are allowed $400 (around that figure) per person. $750 for a week away.I always have my family with me and when they ask me to rolled down the windows, they see my little girls. I then tell them the majority of items are for these Divas and I am free.Food/Groceries are also tax free. If you want the dishonest route, sorry I can't help you.
Hmmm, sounds like you are taking the dishonest route if you aren't declaring the dollar amount...Sev made it sound like kid's stuff is explicitly duty free. I know I could stay at a hotel or something to get to the 48 hour mark - doubt I'd be over $800 in total.
I love Kanye, but I understand why a lot of people hate him. He really does make damn good music though. All 5 of his albums are really really really good. Rappers are notoriously inconsistent, I don't know if there is another guy who has 5 albums in a row that are as critically acclaimed as Kanye's. I also have no doubt that the concert will be a huge production, and be just an amazing show. he is probably the only person other than Eminem that I would fly across the country to watch ahis concert.
To be fair, I wouldn't have any feelings for him either way if he wasn't making some quality music. He is one of the very few public figures who are staying public based on the quality of their output, rather than their antics.

I actually do declare everything. We usually make a trip out of it and stay at a hotel for a couple of days. Some people I know do not declare everything when they make their day trips to Buffalo.Kid clothing is definitely not taxed when you cross the border. That is the majority of our purchases, childrens clothing.

My two cents on the rapping subject:My favourite rapper of all time is Snoop Dogg..Its not even close..Not only do i like his music, I think he is just an awesome guy...Happy go lucky..He is a hockey fan and a poker player..I would just love to be his best friend.
Tupac!can I take the Beastie Boys too?Am I the only one who can easily picture a reality show called Slamming with Serge+Snoop Dogg?

I honestly think that I can hang with Snoop and we would be best buds..The man is a legend. He is about a year older than me..I like Tupac as well and the Beastie Boys too..Maybe this younguns dont know too much about them..There is too many rappers these days with weird names that I dont know ...Lil this lil that, t-bone this t-slash that..My day there was a few big names and they ruled the roost.

I thought it was more Jay Z, with a little Kanye. Thats pretty cool if Kanye plays a lot of his stuff too.As for Kanye, his antics in real life make me shake my head, but frankly, unless its really bad, I just ignore that stuff from atheletes+entertainers and try to just appreciate them as entertainers, if I can.As for his music, I quite like him too. There were a few songs (mainstream stuff) that he had that I enjoyed but nothing I loved. Then, he came out with a new album in '08 I think, and I just loved the first song released from it.(Love Lockdown)So I downloaded the whole album one night, thinking eh, probably a lot of songs I wont enjoy. Actually, it was full of really different songs that I really really liked. (808+Heartbreak is the album I guess)Started listening to it in the car, and next thing I know, my son (7 yr old at the time), liked it. Kinda became a bonding thing for us, Kanye remains one of his faves. It was a bunch of songs that I dont think got much airplay, but really beautiful stuff. I dont know if thats the Kanye you like, but I quite enjoyed that album. Gold Digga an all time fave too. :club:
808s and Heartbreak is a fantastic album. Heartless is probably one of my favourite songs ever. I think that album, more than any other, showcases his ability as a songwriter and producer, as the guy literally cannot sing well at all, and he made an entire album with just him singing with autotune, and it was actually fantastic. As for the concert, Kanye and Jay Z are releasing an album together next week, and this tour is promoting that album. I expect the concert will be pretty close to 50/50 Kanye/Jay Z. Early indications are that the album is awesome as well.

Ah, gotcha. I'm trying to save my vacation days, so we're getting in an out in a day. I'll be sure to do some research next time though, and make sure I know what is excluded. Thanks to you and sev for the heads-up.
Grandmaster Flash and the Furious Five!!
Awesome. In the car the other day a rap song came on. Like every other rap song these days, it sampled a 20-year old song. I was in car full of rap fans, who were bopping along. When the sample came in, I popped up and mentioned how great it was that it was a fuller sample than most these days, forcing people to realize it was a sample. Blank stares from the car. I told them the Grandmaster song it was from. Blank stares. None of them even knew it was a sample. Goddamnit. I did feel pretty cool though, and lorded it over them the rest of the ride.

I don't like rap as a whole. I have a few songs on my touch. Some eminem, some snoop, some dre, some lil john, some atmosphere, and some nelly. But all in all I am more of a fan of rock. Probably because I play guitar so I like songs with guitars in them. That is all. Have a nice weekend. Go Beavers!

Songs with guitars in them. GO: Thunder Road, Springsteen: 'Well I got this guitar and I learned how to make it talk'. Your turn...

hehe, when we were kids, my dad would always play That album, and before the song came on, would say, "Ok kids, what does Ziggy play?" And me and Dev would yell out "Ziggy played guitar!"corny, I know, but I still love that song.

Rehearsal dinner, wedding, and reception were all amazing. Everything ran super smoothly and everyone kept saying how great a time they were having. I'll post pics/link to pics when they're available.

How many times did the DJ play Party Rock Anthem? Because I made him play it twice at the wedding I went to on Friday. Drunk dancing is the best.
