pezeveng 207
Well i do....I am also ****ing bitter and i need a thread to ****ing vent my ****ing frustrations. You know why its fixed...You all know who fixed it, you all just sit there an accept it..The worst team in the playoffs beats the best team in the playoffs...you think thats right..You think thats good for the world..You think it all works out in the end..**** ITSerge in 2001 Toronto was a 7 seed Ottawa was a 2 seed Toronto swept them and only allowed 3 goals in 4 games. And Bodog was there. I love seeing dogs win screw the favs, if you constantly want to see fav win the NBA is your sport.NHL where anything can happen because its a true team sport. pezeveng 207
I don't know what this means.Iam just hating on the NBA and the where amazing happens slogans. Also in the NBA if you have the best players you always win in hockey not so, just look at the Carolina-Edmonton final a few years ago. That would never happen in the NBA. MapleLeafpoker 1,462
Agree with Pez's point. The right system, and the right team of non-stars playing with all their energy can beat even some of the most talented teams. Add to that a hot goalie, and anything can happen. As opposed to the NBA, where its 90% of the time about the 2/3 best players on a team, as long as they have some decent depth.

And maybe 6 guys get the majority of the minutes. And the star players will play something like 40 out of 48 minutes? That's why the stars can affect the game much more than in hockey. It's not because basketball isn't a team sport.

It's not because basketball isn't a team sport.Do I realize that? Yeah, Ive been following basketball a long time. Doesnt that kinda prove the point that an NBA team has a greater dependcy on their stars to win playoff games? Not sure where you got that I said basketball isnt a team sport. My comment had more to do with the NBA, how its played, who usually wins VS the NHL, and how the playoffs unfold there and how teams with less talent can overcome the opponents top stars more readily. You dont win NBA championships without having the stars of the league. In the NHL, you can easily win a Cup without owning a top 5/10 talent. Also, as a side point, as someone who has played basketball all his life, IMO, the NBA game has really bastardized what the sport of basketball is about, and how it should be played. You dont win NBA championships without having the stars of the league. In the NHL, you can easily win a Cup without owning a top 5/10 talent.2004, Pistons beat the Lakers. Nobody on the Pistons was sniffing the top ten and Kobe and Shaq might've been the top two. Also, as a side point, as someone who has played basketball all his life, IMO, the NBA game has really bastardized what the sport of basketball is about, and how it should be played. As someone who has also played basketball all his life, I don't agree. How is basketball not being played the right way? Actually, nevermind, we don't need to go down that path here. I just think, when speaking purely of the playoff tournaments in the NHL and NBA, there is a greater emphasis on the play of the whole roster of the NHL team vs the whole roster of the NBA. also......2004, Pistons beat the Lakers. Nobody on the Pistons was sniffing the top ten and Kobe and Shaq might've been the top two.isnt that the exception, and not the rule? Im not saying its an absolute rule, but that if we looked at say the last 10yrs of NBA/NHL champions, my argument would bear out. Many NHL teams have won with nothing more than a good team, and next to no household names. I dont see that in the NBA.As someone who has also played basketball all his life, I don't agree. How is basketball not being played the right way? Actually, nevermind, we don't need to go down that path here. I'm just desperate for the basketball forum to be as active as the hockey forum.yeah, hockey forum rules! Id hate to think I meant the NBA is not being "played right". Wasnt my intention. I think maybe I meant it more that it lends itself more towards an individuals game, isolations, less fundamentals+systems and worst of all, the unwritten rule that the stars get the majority of the calls. And all that is really just my opinion, personal preference. Not a right or wrong, as it came out.And before that comes of as some kind of racial bias, I love the college game, and I generally hate the softness of the European leagues.I would readily admit the best basketball players in the world play in the NBA, I just find many of the games boring, and way too much of the play selfish. Dunks bore me.Its just a personal opinion, not a right or wrong.
GWCGWC 83
I've officially picked the Vancouver Canucks as my team for the remainder of the playoffs for the following 10 reasons:1. They've got pretty cool uniforms.2. They're in the NW Division.3. Vancouver's cool and hosting the winter olympics was pretty cool. 4. They play the Blackhawks.5. The only team in the west I could possibly root for. 6-10. The Sedin's.
Zach6668 513
You should be against them for being in the same division as your Avs. You'll never find me cheering for the Rangers, Devils, Flyers or Islanders.

Of the eight teams left I'd have Vancouver and San Jose battle it out for the worst looking uniform.

I hate the Wings for their success. SJ just beat my team and they're fans kind of suck multiple large peni. Chicago's named the Blackhawks and has the exploited face of an injun on their uniforms. I'd prefer my division to be super strong for respect reasons and I don't like any Eastern teams. What else, oh yea the Blackhawks are an imported crew of posers that chase the dollar better than they chase the puck.

I have no idea who are household names in Canada. But what about goaltenders? How often does a team win without a top ten goaltender? (I have no idea what the answer to this is.)
