So me and a friend play in a 1/2 game a few days ago. We get there at 8pm (they run a hh for those early players at 1am, for which we were gonna leave after the hh). I start at 150, and over the course of the night get up to about 350. My image is tag, while everyone at the table (excluding my friend who was card dead the whole night) is very lag. The villain, some asian older guy (about 45) dressed in shirt/tie/massive jewelry has been talking about how he makes near 6 figures even though he's playing a 1/2 game lol. anyway about halfway through the night i win a hand w/a set of 9s and he says "he always has a hand, but it's ok imma get him." I'm like " I know we're gonna tangle before this night's over."So it's 12:45 and I'm on the button. utg raises to 10, +1 calls 10, villain is next, who calls, rest folds to me. I look at KK. This table is really loose, I'm thinking of a big reraise here or else there's four of us at the flop. So I make it 45 to go. Everyone folds except villain who instacalls. pot is 103.Flop: Q 10 7 rainbowThe villain leads out immediately w/75. I'm like ok, this guy is lag but hasn't shown to be crazy stupid, so i give him credit for something more than a draw, maybe aq at best. I feel and know i'm still good. Well while I'm thinking he starts putting the rest of his chips on the felt, about 120 more, and literally says it's all goin in. I'm like ok no point in calling here. I have him covered so i say "ok i'm all in." He insta-calls and stands up w/a smile. I say to him "you wanted to get me, u got a set or something?" He nods to my surprise (cuz I knew he didn't have a set).Well I flip my kk over and he flips over Q4. In my head I'm like wtf ok he read me as being tag yet felt the need to go w/me with Q4. I say " really Q4? You thought I was worse than that?" The villain says "I gotta feeling about this hand" Well u know what comes on the turn, a 4. He says "I knew it was coming." I start laughing and my friend says "still need to see the river". Fortunate for me the river is a 10, giving me the pot and felting him.So I win, the villain is pissed. I say to the dealer "I'm gone after the hot hand." Villain says "what you're not gonna let me win my money back? you gonna be a biitchass and leave w/my money?" So I say "I gotta go, I been here for five hours with you playing. Not my fault you decided to go broke w/Q4." Villain literally stands up and gets in my face, sayin he wants to beat my ass and callin me names. I'm smiling the whole time and say "I'm just playin poker man, u stressin over $200? U disrespecting the hosts's house. We can go somewhere else if you want to handle this." the hosts step in, tellem to cool down and literally shut the fukk up. He stays silent the rest of the 15 minutes I was there. I go to cash out and he goes into some back room and doesn't come out. I tell the host "I wish I didn't have to go, he's def on tilt big time."Just a funny story to share. Turns out he lost like 400 more that night.

Cool story. I don't know if I would have been able to leave with that guy there and in that kind of mood. Sounds like he would be down to continue donating.

I definitely would have stayed, if not to play just to watch that guy burn more cash. What made you think he wouldn't crane kick your ass? You know all asians are born with black belts right?

I would have stayed another 20 min...but then again, he should have been quiet regardless. Last night, I'm playing, and a regular gets set over set on me...she's only been at the table for about 1 hr, and after winning about 400 from me, she quits..right AFTER the hand. Another guy at the table is like WTF, "you shoud say something..." But whatever...i have mini sessions all the time...but i never get up right away after a big pot..the lady goes back to playing on the club's PC...just like she was when I got there...hits and runs and takes their free food...lol

Wouldn't it have worked out easier and better if the outcome would have changed to the bolded text as shown above?

Yeah that stuff tilts me... at least fold an orbit and only play aces PRETENDING you're not hit and running
Agreed. I would probably never have left in the first place but to just rack it up and head out is kind of a dick move.

I did stay for an extra 20 minutes, about 1 more orbit w/that full table. I had KK like 2 hands later when he wasn't at the table (assumed he went to let some steam off), ended up losing 40 on that hand on the river to a straight. The hand w/the villain was about 1245, table went around, hh at 1am, then i left when the blinds got back to me.And he was there since 830, so it wasn't like I played and ran. He said he was gonna get me, i was just playin my hands. And I'm asian too, he wasn't gonna beat my ass lol. I'm not even in that mode, I play poker w/no ego. He starts talkin shiit to me, I don't care, I want to win money. And yes I would've left regardless. I had to, work/kids/family in the morning. Plus my friend always leaves at that time, that's why we went at 8pm, to play, then see if we win the hh. I didn't say anything to him until he said that whole biitchass thing to me. And yes at first when he asked me i said "well i guess i'll be a biitchass and leave then" which then setup me saying "it's not my fault ....q4...lost money.." Funny thing is he knew I was leaving around 1am early in the night, which is why maybe he thought to try to "get" me then, but w/Q4? That's his fault not mine.

what are u talkin about? I didn't "hit and run" anything. I play there regularly first, and I always leave around 1 am, after the hot hand and before the blinds get to me. I deserve to lose what? I played my hand. He wanted to "get me" with a garbage hand, I won, he knew I was leaving soon. I played another round before leaving anyway. So I gotta stay there and please him so he thinks he's gonna get his money back? I got there at 8pm and steadily grew my stack near the end of my night before this hand. If anything he should be mad at himself for playing that hand he had.Win lose or draw i still leave at the same time. Again he knew my friend and I were leaving soon, which is why he probably played that garbage hand against me. So I win like I'm supposed to, and now I gotta stay hours longer playing? GTFOH. Villain decides to lose his stack with Q4 and yet he's mad at me? lol

It's hero's money and I support his right to leave. The player whining about is being an *******.But, if you want to keep the peace, don't get up right away. Let the villain cool off a little.

You are obviously under no obligation to stay and allow the MF'er to get his money back-ever. Not withstanding you hung around anyway.

****ing hit and runners. Quite honestly you deserve to lose it all back to him if you play there again.
are you kidding me?! The guy didn't do anything close to hit and run. I set strict limits on how long I play also. Win, lose, or break even I leave at the time I set otherwise my game starts going to shit. I will finish out my orbit but thats it. If he is being truthful in saying that the guy knew he was leaving at a specific time and the villian was making dumb calls with Q4, thats not the OP's fault. Also, its different if you win a huge pot, and stand up and leave IMMEDIATELY before the next hand is dealt. He played another orbit or so before leaving. Last time I checked you don't play poker to make friends. You play to make money. I could care less if everyone at my local game hates my guts as long as I'm leaving with their money. Stop being bitter because it happens online...sits down, plays 10 hands, wins a decent pot, talks shit, and stands up. It was nothing like that. Villian sounds like a complete tool that can't stand losing and wanted to whine after he made a dumb play. I would have handled the situation differently. I wouldn't have talked shit back to him, just apologized for his "luck :club: " and further apologize for not being able to stay. I would then tip my dealer, wish everyone luck, and rack my chips./thread

I ain't gonna lie, when I'm at a casino, I love those people cuz you can just prey on them all night. But I had to go, everyone knew I was leaving soon. Had a good night winning money, had to get up early the next morning (kids/school/work). I'm normally pretty quiet at a table; only said what I said after he was calling me a biitchass n shiit. He acted like I insulted his mom or something. That's why I said "I'm here to play poker."It was funny to me really. while in his tirade, another player who I didn't know but knew the villain was like "calm down, it's just a friendly game...", villain was like "man just shut the fukk up seriously." that's when i knew i had the guy tilted crazy. Villain wasn't at the table when i made my last orbit and lost 40 on one hand w/kk, and wasn't at the table when i got up and cashed out.We could've handled this like he wanted to outside the host's house. I play there and respect his house and rules (fighting gets you kicked out forever). I told him we can go somewhere, but he didn't go any further with it. No more talkin shiit straight up I woulda beat his ass if that's what he wanted. But that woulda been stupid to fight over some petty stuff like this. I'm sure once he actually got his thoughts back he might've realized he played that hand bad and that i didn't leave with his money, i left with MY money.

This isn't a casino... you want the fish to keep coming back
You use the ''common curtesy'' card. I'll use my ''this guy is such a dick, i can't wait to bust his ass next time''

I dont know how old are you, but you have kids right? Would you actually risk something happening to you in a fight over this? Ppl have gats nowadays and shoot for dumb reasons. I try to avoid conflict. When I was younger, I use to kind of run to it, but wiht kids, and being 30, i rather come home in one piece. I honestly dont know what my wife and kids would do without me...So even if he wanted to take it outside, u really would've? Over this?

yeah that's why I said it was stupid to beat him up over this. I do have a family, they always come first in my head. He called me all kinds of names, got in my face, it just made me smile really. In a casino environment I know most of us would've loved this situation. Guy w/money to burn on massive tilt. In AC I'll stay on a table for however long it takes to take these people's money.
