While erring on the side of aggression is usually good advice, it is not against a 44/10.I would check turn and fold rivers 2-5,7, and decide on river 8-A , 6 based on bet size but mostly fold. trystero 0
suited aces make good 3-bet bluffingish hands imo, and yea it's either fold or raise unless you've got a dead read on a guy and can push him around postflop. looks like you got good value postflop. not sure why he didn't 4-bet pf. otf I like your line honestly; I think many people would auto c/bet it, but it's not a bad spot to check because you're never getting a lot of value from worse hands (maybe one bet from a lower pair...or guess not apparently since this guy called two), and your hand's not as good as it looks to any hand that will tangle with you here. Of course when you get it in you're never in terrible shape, but you know what I mean; even AQ has the equity advantage. Plus if you play with villain a lot he'll have to appreciate the fact that you check dryish boards in 3-bet pots, and that it doesn't necessarily mean you're holding queens here.in your other hand, villain's 3-bet size is kind of ridiculous but really that's just a bit of a cooler. I don't felt it like he did but mehJames on a paired board in position I probably just flat his raise. He's never folding being a bigtime drooler and in some rare cases we're drawing dead to the straight flush. We're probably a bit better than 50% against his whole range, assuming that he cannot fold any of it. In that case I think I'd like to see some more cards and build the pot once we hit something. If he checks to us on the turn, we can bet for ourselves too, again to keep building the pot so we can push it once we're semi-nutted. His river bet seems to be a better hand for value but since he's a fish, fish do dumb things, and you're getting good odds, I could not fault a call.
