TheWynn 0
Chip Caray's twitter. Whoever put this up is awesome.http://twitter.com/chipcaray I saw this yesterday. I like the post about when I say "fisted" be the 1st to call and win an I-phone. My friends and I would take shots when he would say fisted during the Tigers v Twins game. He'd say it at least once every 1.5 innings or so.

BigDMcGee 3,355
They fired Emmitt? I wondered why I didn't see him anymore. What happened?Well it probably was because he was the most incompetent commentator in the history of broadcasting. THat was his charm, but the guy could barely put a sentence together, and dropped malapropisms basically every time he spoke. That was his charm for me, but ESPN execs probably weren't down with the whole "laughing at the hall of famer" thing the rest of us were into. I also miss Michael Irvin, who is hilarious, and isn't afraid to call people out and to talk blatant shit to other announcers. I remember I think it was with Tom Jackson, they had a disagree ment about something, and he just blatantly said to TJ " OH yeah.. well how many rings you got, 'cause I got 3" or something on that order, and just bitched him down. It was hysterical
TheWynn 0
Irvin was great too. On monday nights, I usually listen to the 2nd half of MNF on the radio. It's commentated by Marv Albert and Boomer Esiasson. Boomer is another one of those guys that "tells it like it is". I didn't like him at first but he grew on me. He gets into it with Marv all the time and I like when he puts that panty wearer into his place.

BigDMcGee 3,355
The sports guy sent out this tweet ( and really, this is what I love twitter for.. comedian's one liners, and porn star debauchery.) sportsguy33 Never enjoyed Joe Buck more than tonight. He should ask HBO to launch "The Chip Caray Show" and stick it right before his.about 15 hours ago from web

BigDMcGee 3,355
yeah, I didn't even get a chance to see it. What a shocker that Chip caray has no sense of humor about himself.
BigDMcGee 3,355
So, I sent matthew berry, espn fantasy sports " expert" a couple of snarky tweets last week@therealtmr how did a comedy (loose usage) writer ever become taken seriously as a sports analyst. what a joke@therealtmr Nice read on Braylon and the fin's back field. How about you stick to what you're good at and go write Tropic Thunder 2So today, I went to send him a real tweet, about if I should start mccoy or maclin ( which is a real stumper for me), and I noticed he was off my list.. confused, I went directly to his twitter page, and he had apparently blocked me. Apparently he's pretty sensitive about his b-movie writing career.

I had my lineup set last week prior to watching the show, but decided at the last minute (1250 or so) to change a few of my starters due to their recommendations. Suffice it to say, the guys that I changed out (Burleson for Mason; Redskins for Jets D/ST, Benson for Westbrook) had great days and the guys I put in totaled 8 f*cking points opposed to 47 that I took out. From now on I am going with my hunch every weekend. Go f*ck yourself Matthew Berry, Kuselias, and Hasselbeck.Edit: 53pts were left on my bench because I changed those players
TheWynn 0
I really like the MNF crew this year. The addition of Chucky Gruden adds life and knowledge to the cast. I already liked Jaws & the Ann Arbor guy Mike Tirico.

BigDMcGee 3,355
Dilfer just called the broncos a classy football team. Facepalms all around there. First of all, does he really need to say football.. can't he just say "team" or better yet, " the broncos are classy" I think we know that they are both a team, and that they play football. No one's going to think Dilfer is talking about a minor league baseball team or something. Second, and most importantly.. what the **** exactly is so "classy" about the Broncos. What does classy even mean? I hate that adjective attached to teams.. that's a meaningless word that is used for teams that are good, that haven't had their warts exposed to the public yet. You never hear a losing team described as classy. I've seen plenty of photo's of Orton at play, and classy isn't a word i'd use for him.
powerpoker 0
I hate 95% of ESPN analyst. They are all pretty much equally terrible.Any play by play or color announcer that has no clue what the difference is between an end around and a reverse. I mean are you kidding me, this is stuff you learn when your 8 years old. Also why do some announcers keep calling it a hook and ladder. Where is the ladder on the field. Its a hook and lateral. Last but not least is the use of the word "referees" during a game. They are not all referees. There is only one referee on the field (the guy in the white hat that enforces the penalites). They are officials plain and simple, they all have different titles, please use them accordingly. The main reason this irritates me so much is because people listen to these guys and repeat this misinformation and it just gets on my nerves. I think that all annoucners should have to pass a basic test, on the sport they are annoucing. Nothing hard just basic terminology and and rules so they can pass the right info on to the fans watching the game. It would make the games more enjoyable to watch overall. BigDMcGee 3,355
When asked about the saints, the first thing Scharlith said was " The saints are one of the most complete football teams in the national football league" That, in one single sentence, encapsulates everything I hate about bad sports analysts. That sentence was a big pile of nothing. Just ****ing garbage, killing a few seconds of face time. Any fan knows that the saints are a balanced team. They also know that the saints is both a team, and plays football. We also know what league they play in. And we also know what hte NFL stands for, so you don't need to say " the National... football.. league" in an overly dramatic, extended way. I know these are just little things, but jesus they tilt me. How is schlarith on national tv. He should be doing bad local radio in east Lansing or something.
JoeyJoJo 18
So you know how LeBatard rails against "pukey analysis," but also loves the Hurricanes? They play this clip of Michael Irvin a lot where he says in an overly dramatic way, "In order to be great, you must win the games you're expected to win...and win the games nobody gives you a chance to win."It used to drive me crazy because they played it during those coming back from commercial break segments and they never said anything about it. Finally, maybe a week or two ago, Dan started ripping that quote. Now I can hear that sound bite and not get annoyed. Also, I'm not sure just how much or how often you listen to him, but they've started playing the Stan Van Gundy heavy breath during interviews whenever somebody responds with a cliché or meaningless analysis. It's pretty great because it doesn't intrude on the interview and the interviewee doesn't realize it.

I'm not always paying close attention, but I listen to it when I work out, and other times besides when I'm on the computer. I think that heavy breathing thing is just great. I wish they would get max kellerman's old guest, Typical Football Analyst Guy... he would be perfect for that show.
