Meth-addled alleged masturbator taken down by 15 cops

I hate bull fighting.
You might want to give the Kitten Fights a miss, then. The Catadors are complete douchebags. They have these fake mice hooked to the end of a wire and they shake them around and while the cat is trying to keep up with the rapid shaking, they insert a red hot kabob skewer into the sternum. Yes, cats have sternums, too. It's a crying shame.

According to the smoking gun:JUNE 3--Joran van der Sloot, the Dutch man suspected in the disappearance of Natalee Holloway--and now in the murder of a woman in Peru--was named today in a federal extortion complaint charging him with seeking $250,000 in return for information about the whereabouts of Holloway's corpse. According to the below complaint, which was filed in U.S. District Court in Birmingham, Alabama, van der Sloot last month received a $15,000 downpayment on a six-figure fee to "provide the location of Natalee Holloway's remains in Aruba and information regarding the circumstances of her death." The document does not disclose the identity of the person who wired the $15,000 to a Netherlands financial institution, and an FBI affidavit detailing the case against van der Sloot remains under seal. Van der Sloot is the prime suspect in the May 2005 disappearance of Holloway, the Alabama teenager who traveled to Aruba as part of a high school graduation trip. Van der Sloot was arrested today in connection with the killing of Stephany Flores, 21, who was found dead Sunday in a Lima hotel room registered to van der Sloot. Flores was found face down on the floor with her neck broken. Van der Sloot was reportedly in Peru playing in a poker tournament at a Lima casino, raising the prospect that his buy-in may have been unwittingly provided by his alleged Alabama shakedown victim. Now it's being reported that he's confessed to killing this woman in Lima.I wonder if we'll hear more details of the holloway case.

Yeah, you know, the other day I was thinking to myself, "Remember that one girl a few years ago who died and they only covered her on the news for 6 straight months? I'd like to hear more about that right about now."

I wonder how many girls he's killed in South America that we'll never hear about.

The only winner here is Nancy Grace which means we all lose big.

i would probably murder him
When I was in the recovery house for drug addicts in the mountains of Idyllwild, if someone took a shower with the window open in the winter, we would take the garden hose and spray them with it from outside. If the hose wasn't frozen that it.Otherwise we would just get buckets of snow and throw it on them.I showered with the window closed.

I don't think this is as bad as it seems. For those who don't click on the link, a summary:Woman has baby, claims X is father.X pays child support for a few years before taking a DNA test.DNA test proves he's not the father.State says it doesn't matter, you missed the window, you have to continue paying support. In my opinion, by paying child support for three years you are assuming the responsibility of the child. You shouldn't be allowed to just cut the kid off. I agree it's kind of sucky, but this is his fault. He didn't want to pony up $500 for the test, so now he's stuck with 18 years of payments.

I did not expect you to take this position, but okay. What if you hooked up with some random, and she later listed you as the father on the child's birth certificate? Assuming you aren't the dad obviously, and assuming the random never tells you but still lists you on the BC, this same scenario applies. You still miss the window and you're still on the hook for a kid that's not yours. The reason this rule stands is 'for the children', but it most definitely gets taken advantage of. This just seems to be a horrible situation all around. I think it would be difficult going through life knowing my mom ****ed too many guys to know which one donated the sperm to make me. That seems less than ideal. However, I think you should absolutely be able to 'cut the kid off'. If the father is out there, then I would say it's on mom to find them and get support from him. Why should the non-father be penalized? Ignoring this specific situation which probably includes laziness with poorness and jail time, why should the dad have zero recourse? I understand the need for timelines and deadlines, but would you agree that exceptions should be made in extreme cases (this one)?

No, the window starts when you are made aware of the situation. The state said, prove you're not the father now and you don't have to pay. He didn't take the test until years later.

Probably easier to find the real father when it's not years after the fact.Zero recourse? Um, take the test when they tell you about it. How 'bout that?

I don't know all the details on this case and neither do you. I think I was being general and you were being more specific. Sorry about that.If you add the disclaimer of acting upon notification, then I would generally agree with that. What about an order where the suspected father wasn't notified, such as if he was out of the country or in jail, or any multitude of reasons. What's the requirement for notification outside of this case? A registered letter to last known address? Proof of service or something? I see your point that the guy should have acted long ago, but I'm curious what you think in a situation where there isn't notification. Does the suspected father have recourse then? It seems like suspected fathers or whatever are collateral damage in the name of 'protecting the children'. I don't have a problem with that, but I'm 28 with no dependents so I don't have much experience with this stuff.
