Official Palin/biden Debate Thread

Recommended Posts

You is blinded, sir. Democrats dont win presidential elections often and when they do it is usually close (unless they have the good fortune to be running against Bob Dole---good pick GOP). I think Obama wins in a squeaker. Also, I dislike Palin too but she is only the VP candidate. Since there are still two debates coming up soon I am sure people will have forgotten all about this soon.
"Also, I dislike Palin too but she is only the VP candidate." A VP that, God-forbid something happens to McCain should he be elected into Office, will take over the Presidency. She just doesn't have enough experience to run this Country. If she was a Democrat I'd still feel the same way.

Nobody "fears" Palin. That's wishful thinking on the part of The Republicans. She's everything the Democrats could hope for in a Republican vice-presidential nominee. She's a ditz while also attempting to be a good party hack. She's a good ditz, but a bad hack.
shockingly, I agree. I also agree if Obama wins he will have a hard time getting eight years (mostly due to circumstances outside his control).

If the reason you vote against somebody is "what if he dies" you aren't a rational human being, no if and or buts about it. It can be an issue- it can be a worry- but like life I don't make choices based on,"Well, if I eat this burrito I could die." That's the ultimate in fear mongering and worse you do it to yourself. How sick is that? You are blinded by your own crazy irrational fear. Good luck with that.

I can't believe the standards have fallen so low for debating at a presidential/vice-presidential level. Are people just surprised she didn't drool on herself!!? Are you kidding me, she is beyond stupid. I felt like I was watching "Idiocracy" at some points. As for Biden, he needs to stop saying so much socialist bullshit.
You know what. This is pretty silly. No, she isn't stupid - She ran a business, was a Mayor, and was elected Governor and served well in each case.Just guessing, but I'll bet you haven't accomplished 1/10th of what she has accomplished. You certainly have the right to think/say she is stupid but you look pretty silly to me when you do.

Idiocracy? Enjoy your complete lack of credibility.

Some of the initial Knee-Jerk vitriol aimed at Palin seemed like it was "fear" driven. There were plenty of "she scares the heck out of me" comments, many with anti-religious basis. Now that the first reactions have aged and hardened into "conclusions" it seems that her critics no longer have that visceral fear - they just view her as a ditzy soccer mom from Alaska - but the initial core certainly had that kernel of fear.So much is based on an individual's starting point and if they are trying to score any points for their Party. I thought I was "Conservative" but had to laugh out loud last night during the Debate After-Glow on Fox when a certain Conservative Hack gushed: "She was nothing short of AMAZING. Like Reagan in his debates. We have a SUPERSTAR"I think that is equally as ridiculous as the Liberal Hacks claiming total victory for Biden.
I do find her religious background a little scary. But the more I learn about her the more I think maybe she wont bring all her religious beliefs to a vice presidency....so that is good. However, I am not sure how many brain cells she would bring......and I cant stand the way she NEVER answers a question directly. Yes, most politicians do this sometimes....but not every time. Also, if Palin was Reaganesque last night then that hack must have been referring to this Ronald Reagan:http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kzx7VEH9YUM

The "never answering a question diretcly" is way overblown. Yes she returned to script a few times, but so did Biden. And a few times she had to finish a prior question because she had run out of time. The comparison between the directness of her answers and Bidens to the questions isnt materially different.

I was still VERY impressed that she answered the question about Same Sex Marriage as directly as she did - which then forced Biden to admit that the BHO/Biden position was the same.

The Dem talking points sent out to Moveon and Huffington were:Make Palin stupid, no matter what, turn it so she is stupid.Ignore that she has been governor of Alaska for 2 years and doing such a good job her approval ratings are in the 80s. Just focus on stupid, say it often, say it for any reason, make it stick. It worked on Bush, we can make it stick on Palin.Looks like so far you guys got the message.

given her religious stance I am not sure how else she could have answered it. but yes, she did answer that question directly.

Wow...no wonder there's so muc BS in these blogs. Everybody overreacts over what's said and turns it into something else completely. I didn't say that the only reason I'm not voting for her/McCain is because "what if he dies". It all narrows down to the same fact that she is not experienced enough. That was my point. She doesn't have the experience to be in office whether she is a VP or Pres.

Her role as VP will intially be focused on energy policy. She is far more accomplished in that area than BHO is at anything, or that Joe "Never been right on foreign policy except when Ive flip flopped" Biden is in his supposed area of expertise.

Welcome to a very extensive club Kongos.
haha, thank you.I thought that movie was a damn good social commentary so if it puts me in a "lack of credibility" club, I'll wear the badge honorably.

First, her approval ratings in Alaska have dropped significantly since she was tapped to be the VP pick. Two, I have never even visited either of those websites. Three, it is her responses to questions that make her sound stupid (though she was fine during the debate). Four, GWB's stupid tag comes from him botching press conferences so badly. He might be a smart guy and just the worst public speaker ever."This legislation.....is not letting gynocologists practice their love on women"

Pretty much anyone dumb enough to vote for Obama? That club?
I'm not voting for Obama or McCain. They're equally bad in my opinion.

She is not stupid compared to the man on the street. But to be second in command of the most powerful nation on Earth? Utterly frightening. A HOCKEY MOM CAN'T BE MY PRESIDENT UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES.

My wife saw Kissinger speak yesterday. At one point he commented on the constant Media and Liberal (I know that is redundant) barrage against Bush - always claiming that this Ivy League Graduate, Pilot, and Businessman who got elected as President was Stupid and Wrong 100% of the time in every decision. Kissinger said in his famous dry tone: "I believe it is statistically impossible for anyone to be wrong 100% of the time"Point is. You may not like the man. But he isn't stupid.

Pretty much proves my point.Everyone I know or have heard interviewed that has spoken one on one with Bush says he is a very smart guy, but his poor public speaking skills results in a complete belief that he is stupid. The point has been driven home to the point that it is now a 'fact' and will be for the rest of our lifetimes regardless of it's truth. That is also happening to Palin now. People are pretending they know her because they've seen her speak to a reporter a couple times. Some of whom were downright antagonistic about their interviews.I never thought you would actually read Huffington or Moveon, they are just the democrat's first level strategy vehicles for the last 8 years for vicousness and lies while keeping their hands clean. It is filtered by the time it reaches the news, they only report them as bloggers, then quote them word for word as a source.

That's not what you said. You specifically focused on McCains death. But don't let facts trip you up or anything.
