Overall profit for August: $4,526.08Thoughts, well here first is my graph of nlhe play:august13-overall-final.jpgThis was a very 'rough' month for me. I really had a lot of ups and down, but overall I'm very happy with the month cause I know I grew much as a player. I took $4,337.25 in losses playing PLO. That really sucks, and obviously is quite a big chunk out of the graph.I lost $766.6 in MTTs and didn't play > 5.While I did get my roll back to where I wanted it, this month was just a very stressful one for me. About half way through the month I wanted to break windows...but I regained my composure, realized that I'm making a few mistakes, but for the most part playing well, and taking shots at 10/20 HU in PLO or NLHE can mean I will swing a bit more. But I pulled it together at the end and did 'ok' from a money standpoint. But, for September...I'm going to shoot for $20k in cash...I really should be making this kind of money at the limits I'm playing and the amount of hands I'm playing. So, I'm going to do it. I'm the most confident I've ever been for some reason...I may look back on August and see it as a sort of "defining" moment...but we'll see.I have a lot going on...I really want to get off to a good start with school this quarter, as well as getting back into working out and eating healthy. I'd like to put on 5-10 pounds of muscle this month. I just moved into a new place and am really looking to change my lifestyle back to a more positive one. IE: 3 meals a day, fruit and veggies, lifting weights again, biking, running, amongst other things. I'm really excited about September and I'm not looking at this money out of greed. I just should be making it playing the amount of hands I do, and stakes...so I'm going to. The WCOOP is this month and I want to play 3-5 events. Depending on how the month goes, I may end up buying into the main event if I do not win my seat within a few tries. I really don't want to spend more than 900$ trying to get into the $2.6k event. So, we'll see. I'm really stoked and looking forward to this month. I didn't play at all the 31st, as planned. I spent the evening with my girlfriend...so gl fellas...have fun.- Jordan

I didn't play for shit in august. I'm not even sure if I got in 15K hands. I basically broke even. Well, at least my internet it up again after being down for 8 damn days.soooooo, I'm gonna have some modest goals that I'm gonna try to hitmy roll is still around 8K, but I'm about to withdraw 2K so I can afford my drinking, so essentially my roll is gonna be at 6K, I want to get my roll up to 9K and play 25-32K hands. not gonna set a winrate or anything like that, but 3K with rakeback+bonii+winnings is doable...........I hope

August was my most succesful month of the 4 months i've been playing the micro MTTs on stars, I made my first final table which put my bankroll to a level where i am confident if i continue to play well i can continue to move up in stakes,I also had my largest live cash to date with a 3rd in a €20 freezout for €450,As for september goals I hope to be able to play 40-50 mtts despite going back to college,And hopefully make another few final tables and take down my first mtt win,Furthermore i will be playing in the cash games on campus which are usually very soft,I hope to build up a bankroll for live play so i can play more live tournies and get more experience in B&M.

August I said I would 0 hands, i played 3kish. Ran my $12.50 to $250 then back down to $17 then back to $200ish after entering the FCP heads up tourney.I dunno not really focused on playing poker... but I am going to shoot for $500 at the end of the month.

The beginning of August sucked and I lost 600 in the first two weeks from 2-10 cash games but I ended the month -$34 which is pretty damn good for such a terrible beginning. I won one small tournament for a decent cash and did well in cash games during the last part of the month. If I had a decent first two weeks in August it would have been a great month but as is, I'm happy about breaking even.My goals for September are to build a bankroll to where I can play 3-20 on a consistent basis and do well in a few big poker events going on. Theres a Heartland Poker Tour league starting at my casino so I want to be the points leader of that by the end of the month. current bankroll 2,200end of September 3,500?1,300 is doable.

I want to get in over 20K hands, make over 30K, and play more 6 max NL besides my heads up binges. And at some point, learn how to play PL Omaha starting at 10 cent 25 cent, although that realistically probably won't happen. If i hit a massive downswing and it doesn't let up, then I'll try to learn Omaha.

August was the best month since I turned 'pro'.My grand total profit, was $5,745.96, assuming I don't cash in the VIP Invitational later.I cleared ~$1200 on rakeback, ~$1000 in bonus money, ~$1000 worth of ARPs, and I guess I cleared the rest at the tables (~$2500), although my PT data shows a different result because I played a few sessions where I was staked, and either shipped a portion of my winnigs away, or had some money shipped to me to cover the losses, etc. However, PT shows overall, a winrate of 0.96 BB/100, which I'm extremely happy with. If I could run at that rate forever, I'd be happy. :)Also, I played significantly less than I wanted to, mainly because my month was interupted for about 5 days or so because of a trip I took. I only played 22,252 hands, and my goal was 30,000. According to PT, I was at the tables for 118.72 hours, meaning my hourly rate was $48.40. If I could force myself to work 40 hrs/week, I'd be rich, loool.Either way, I'm super happy with my results, as my previously best month was only $4600ish.Also, I'll prolly win the VIP Invitational tonight for $1500 more :-P******************************Goals for September are simple.25-30k hands, I'm going to try to split it between 3/6 and 5/10 as my BR allows (I'm a bit short for 5/10 right now), and perhaps some more well-timed shots at 10/20. This will all vary depending on how good the tables are at each limit, naturally, as I feel the strongest part of my game is table selection.I'm looking to have a $5,000+ month again, and I don't see why that shouldn't be possible. On the non-poker front, I want to cut down my useless spending, sorta. I'm not going to be taking any trips or anything anymore, as my gf is back in school. I'm gonna try to stay away from the fast food, etc. I would like to make one purchase when possible. I need a video game system, for tilt control purposes. I think Madden would be a good way to get out some aggression when I feel tilt coming, and also, I want to get out from laptop more often. I also need to read my new poker books, Winning In Tough Hold'Em Games, which is supposed to be amazing for SH LHE, and Ace on the River, which should hopefully help me with the mental aspects of poker.Anyways, as always, gl all.[edit - I just remembered, I have to wait for today's rakeback to be updated, so I'll add in the extra $30 or so when it gets updated tomorrow]

I've never been a big fan of first-person shooter games. More of a sports/racing game fan.Btw, anyone have any insight onto what the best system is?It needs to be able to play NHL 08, so unfortunately, it looks like the Wii is a no go. :club:

PS3 is not worth your money, best bet would be a 360..But if you want to play Madden as well, you might consider giving up NHL 08 for a wii? Then again I'm not canadian..

I want NHL for sure. Like 100% definitely. So, unless I'm just a tard, I don't see NHL coming out on the Wii, unless it's delayed or something. (Btw, it's ****ing retarded that some titles are out for Wii, but not others.)And, I can get Madden for the 360 too. I'm prolly gonna end up with that. I need to make a ton of money before I can justify this purchase anyways, cuz I gotta pay off a dude I've owed money to for way too long first, and make sure my bills are paid, and my bankroll padded, etc. But, I'll prolly get the 360 eventually, then I'll just buy a Wii in a few months. :club:

If you're filing as a professional, you should try writing that off as a business expense. Not, you know, because it would work, but because it would be fun to see the auditor's expression.

Actually, that's something I REALLY should look into eventually.I'm Canadian. There's no tax on gambling, unless you're a professional, so I just gotta cover that up. I was a student til May, that should do.

August Goals: move up to nl25 dammit. As I said unsuccessful shots were taken but gar, nl10 is taking forever to move past. The problem is doubly hard as nl25 is 2.5x bigger rather than 2x. I don't think I'll feel comfortable moving up with less than $650, so thats a profit of $150 needed in the first few weeks, which is doable i think. Hopefully it's all smooth sailing from there, the eventual goal is to get to 1/2. I probably won't start to cash out till nl100, and regular cashouts won't happen till nl200. Also when this happens I'll get rakeback on fulltilt and split my play up a little, but at the moment I'm happy with stars especially If I can move up. If I move to nl25 within the first week, I will also set the goal of becoming goldstar.Edit: started playing sunday $100 grand sats to build up $T so that I can work on my tourney game cheaply. Goal there is just to make some money from tourneys/satellites.
August Results: Augustholdem.pngAlso played a little Omaha, which I hope to do more of AugustOmaha.pngSo I moved up to nl25, yay. First half of August was sooo nice, 17 buyins in a week at nl10 and so move up pretty quckly. Also broke the $1000 dollars online barrier. Played a little nl50 and lost and then had about two weeks of breaking even, if you include the Omaha results. Was very annoying. Also lost about $50 live but thats ok as it was 1/2 so its practically nothing. Also got some money on Full Tilt with rake back, earlier than I said I would. So I'm splitting my play between Stars and Tilt, usually two Stars tables and 1 or 2 Tilt tables, depending on how I'm going and how my computer is going. Didn't make goldstar, I think I need to be playing higher for that. My tourney dollars lasted about 3 days. I've given up on tourneys pretty much. I might play them again in a couple of months, but at the moment I'm focusing on cash as thats what I enjoy, an am profitable in.Heres my Holdem graph for August.AugustGraph.pngSeptember Goals:To have my first $1000 dollar month. Move up to nl50 which I want to do when I reach $1500. So thats about 18 buyins, which I want to do in about 2 weeks, and then another $500 is at nl50 in the second two weeks. About 25k-30k hands and I want to play at least 1k hands of Omaha. Hopefully alot of the profit will be on tilt, as I'm underolled over there.

August was my best month of poker ever.My goal for September is to continue to beat the 25/50 and 50/100 limit holdem games at On Game for over $2 per hand and to continue to have On Game love me and hate my opponents. My goal for my play at other sites (mostly Poker Stars ) is $1 per hand as I'll play from 10/20 to 30/60 at sites other then On Game.I don't set any goals in terms of the amount that I'll play as I have some other commitments that take priority over playing.
