Zach6668 513
I ran twice as cold as any other player online. I challenge this title.
psujohn 0
July results Winning trip to Vegas - will be there for 4 days playing mostly 1/2 NL. I'd like to profit $500 or better to cover the cost of the tripNice thought but it was a combo of 2 days of bad play followed by 2 days of running bad. Lost 1200 at 1/2 NL. Competition at MGM was MUCH tougher than in the past but still should have been beatable. Profit $400 at NL $50 six max - need $600 profit to make me a lifetime winning player but don't know that I can erase all that this monthI'm allowed to ignore massive tilt spewing sessions right? Without two horrid tilt days I made a decent profit. With the two horrid tilt days I ended down about 160. Also played some .5/1 NL and booked a tiny profit of 40 over about 1,100 hands. I don't quite have the roll for 100 NL and made a few scared plays. Overall I enjoyed it more than the 50 NL but I need to get my roll up more and become a lifetime winning player at 50 NL before I move up. Profit $300 at SH LHE 1/2 and move up to 2/4 if the bankroll allows+180 at 1/2 on 2K hands. Didn't move to 2/4 at all. Play on average 2 hours a day but play without also reading forums/email/watching videos/etc. My biggest leak is not paying attention to the table.I'm still playing more hours with less concentration. I find it easier to concentrate when I'm playing higher. Generally playing one table. Still something to work on. Spend more time in strategy and less time in general. smile.gifSpent a bit more time in strat but still need to keep moving in this direction. August goals:I'm planning to play 0 online hands (after this weeK) due to 2 long trips and some much neglected work. I'm planning 1 trip to AC to play some 1/2 live where the goal is +$200 or better and I'll play a couple sessions at the home game where the goal is always break even. Tonight is a new crowd at the home game that plays much higher (.25/.50) and apparently plays pretty wild so we'll see how that goes.
crotig 0
July goals : play 10k hands at 25NL 6-max on absolute with bonus and rakeback.July was looking good. At 7.5k hands with 3 days to go I was up 8 buy-ins and then I go on a 9.5-buy-in downswing in the last 3 days to 9.5k hands. OMFGJKHKJKJI!!!!. Cleared $65 dollars of bonus and $55 in rakeback so still up for the month but still a bit pissed off.August goals:I've only cleared $65 of a $500 bonus and it expires in 30 days. At this rate I'll have to play 70k hands in 30 days to clear it all. The rake just isn't going high enough at 25NL to get the points. I don't want to move up the limits just to hit the rake more often as I think this would be -ev.So i'm going to try and get 4hrs a day in 4 tabling 25NL 6-max this should get me too about 30k hands an just try to clear as much bonus as possible before it expires.Just try to play each hand as well as I can and not worry too much about the cash. I'm running at 18.35/6.9/1.09 over the last 9.5k hands so i'm playing pretty tight.GL everyone.
iggymcfly 0
Well, I haven't got much poker in yet, but I learned a ton of really good life lessons last night and this time they didn't cost me a dime! I may or may not go into detail later when I'm less sleepy, but thanks to one of the less important ones, I have no plans to play another hand of blackjack again in my life and if I do, it sure as **** won't be on my next trip to Bellagio. I have no edge whatsoever counting cards.
Alex916F 0
I'm glad to see July go... So far the biggest losing month i have ever had. down approx. 2200 bucksThe big downswing happened when i decided that maybe the best way to play 200nl fr is to open up my game a bit because everyone seems so much like nits. well i opened up all right a little too much and was unfamiliar with a LAGgy style so i was in unfamiliar territory. Felt like a ran bad and half way through i started to get tilty.... one day down 6 buy ins.... in 200NL so 1200 bucks, biggest losing day to date and it wasn't good. I decided LAG isn't my style and to stick to what i know i will just have to be more patient than anyone else. My br was crippled where i felt i couldnt play 200 nl anymore so i went down to the 100 tables with one 200.... felt like i played great maybe some mistakes but for the most part fine.... won half a buy in in 200nl ended the session down 500 though... it sucked...So now i am super frustrated and just trying to do my best, i am playing 100nl fr for the most part and some 6 max, my br is definately hurting but still sizable... been playing more tournies the past 5 days just so i am risking less money in a day... i am still running horrible though. monday i was knocked out in the early stages of the 20k on PS when there were 6 limpers i am bb with AA i raise big everyone folds except last person who pushes.... he has 77 he gets straight... monday was a bunch of those i put my money in good they suck out.... what can u do. right now i am ok with it. i know i just need to wait out this downswing and concentrate on playing good.Aug. goals:rebuild my roll back up to 20 buy-ins for 200NL fr start playing that again and destroy it.FT some big tournies such as the 20kSat. into the millions and play it at least one weekwork on my rebuy tourny strat. RyanPriceDotCA 0
I had a good July in my books, up about $3k including splitting a tourney win.In August I'll be playing with a $500 bank roll, so I hope to get that up to around $1500 - I don't have time to play as much as I'd like so that's a good goal for me. erac22 0
Well I am completely demoralized after my July. I started the month with 15k in roll playing 3/6nl. I finished yesterday after no cashouts with 5600 and playing 1/2nl. I am getting 5k from neteller though, so at least I've got that going for me.My August goals are ambitious, but good lord I'm due for a heater. I'm done working after next week, and don't start school till the middle of August, so I'll have lots of time at the tables both live and online.Online: Get my bodog account back to pre-july levels so that I can start playing 3/6nl again once I get back to school. So +approx 10k on bodog.Get my FTP account from 500-3k, and pay back my buddy who shipped me 2k there so I don't have to use currency to pay him back. Not that I can't, just that it upsets me...Live: I haver very little live experience since I just turned 21, and would like to gain some. I'm going to withdraw 5k from the bank and try to double it.summary: +10k on bodog +2.5k on FTP +5k live --------------------- +17.5k for the monthAgain, very ambitious, but I know it's doable if I play 50k hands, focus, run decent, and most importantly, don't tilt. aim786 0
Well, I for one actually ran pretty well at min bet in july. pokerplayer24 0
July : My only goal was to move up to 2/4 successfully, right now I've played 4k hands and it's gone ok, up about 3 BIs.August:Starting Bankrolls:FTP - $2900Stars - $11900- 10k hands at 2/4 (Will be tough considering I will be dropping down to 1/2 if my online roll drops under 10k)- Profit in the 2 TS Donkaments I will be playing in August- Profit in the live cash games at TS- Have 25k to my name before school starts (I have about 16.5k total)MMM thought i had recognized ur name at 2/4 on stars. CobaltBlue 662
August Goals Take over #1 online MTT player in Alabama not just on the Monthly board but also the Sliding board. Stick to MTTs and STTs until I get my BR back up over $20k. July Goals/Results Be ranked #1 MTT player in Alabama.I had the lead in this pretty early, fell back to second for a little while, and then recaptured it with about a week to go. Unfortunately, some jackass passed me by stringing together several +$2k scores in the last few days of the month to hop ahead of me. I think I may have barely passed him last night with time counting down on the month, but it'll take a few days to see if the results will be counted. Have a profitable month while figuring out what the hell I'm doing wrong in cash games.Profitable month eventually got downgraded to "avoiding my worst month ever". I continued to run kind of bad in cash games. On the month, I was down $13.5k in them. I'm still not clear why that's happening, so I mostly steered clear of them (particularly SHNL) for the last part of the month. I'm somewhat resigned to being a tournament donk for a while...I'm just too profitable there lately for me to avoid it. I made $8k in them in July. Breaking down the tournament numbers...98 MTTs, $9664 in buyins, $16188 in payout, $6524 in profit, 67.5% ROI35 STTs, $3167 in buyins, $4680 in payout, $1513 in profit, 47.7% ROI

bobbywithani 0
July Goals: Pretty much had to change my focus mid month, with AP adding their stupid BBJ tables I had to take my money off. While waiting for the check I decided to put $300 on pokerstars and start learning to play MTT's more. Mainly started out in the 4.40's, for those I had two wins and three other FT's. I also played a few bigger tourneys including one of the $11 15k gurantees, placed in 6th for about 1300. Only played about 3k hands of cash games and pretty much broke even. Current BR 1800August goals-Win one of the $11 180's and FT a few more, mainly looking to place in top 3. Finish in the top 50 of the $11 100k sundays on stars. Play 15k hands of cash games. Have a working bankroll of 2800.BTW I cannot figure out a way to get my PS tourney summaries to load onto Pokertracker, I use hotmail and I can't import them directly from the mail server and when I save the files on my computer pokertracker still won't pick it up, anyone can just PM me if you know how to fix this. Zach6668 513
The final numbers are in:July Results:23,203 hands.-$2,747.19Yes, that's a 400 BB downswing. Sigh. However!I had roughly $200ish in overall profit from tournaments, although, as usual, I track those very poorly.I also managed to clear like almost $3000 worth of incentives on AP; $1,130.68 in rakeback, and lots in bonus and ARPs.Overall, despite having my worst month ever at the tables, I managed to actually profit overall.Final totals for the month: +$432.80So, as bad as it was, I can take away the knowledge that even my worst months, I still manage to turn a profit.August Goals:Believe it or not, I'm confident as hell, and ready to pound out some serious volume.I plan on playing a minimum of 30,000 hands, but my daily goal will be 2,000 hands. Obviously, I won't play every day, but 5 days/week should result in about 40,000 hands or so.Also, if I play 30,000 hands, I should clear about $4,000 worth of incentives at AP, so if I can add a modest 1.0 BB/100, I could get as high as $5800 total profit. For now, I'm just shooting for breakeven poker, aka $4000 total.Gl all.[edited to include correct graphs]
iggymcfly 0
Warning: I started writing this post and it got way too long. Unless you've got lots of time on your hands or are already interested, you might want to move down to the next post. I'm kinda curious...I mean, if losing your roll wouldn't have taught you this, what did?Seriously, I'm interested...and I hope you do well out there and get your roll back.- JordanWell, I obviously learned some good lessons there too, but last night was from a different perspective. It was this degenerate friend of mine. He already owed me a few hundred bucks which I knew I wasn't getting for a while, and then we went golfing and he lost a few hundred more, mainly taking the worst of it in order to double the stakes when he impatiently wanted to gamble. Anyway, we went to dinner afterward and he kept trying to tell me how no one could count cards and the whole thing was made up and so I agreed to go to his house and let him deal me some double-deck BJ with good penetration, figuring that it would be good practice for Vegas and that I wouldn't be risking any of my actual "available cash" stash.Anyway, he's constantly trying to give me better penetration/rules to get me to raise the minimum bet (even though if he really has an edge, he shouldn't want that). Finally, after about 4 hours, I'm ready to quit and go home up another $1250 or so. He talks me into playing out another 3 shoes with him (we switched to 4 decks at some point), and while doing that, I've completely lost the urge to gamble, but I get the idea that I can at least start counting the shoe down afterwards to see how good my count is. That entertains me a little while longer, but the more I play, the more I realize that my count's really not good at all, even putting in 100% focus, going as slow as I want, and not making any effort to act like a friendly BJ donk at the table. I get it on the nose a couple times, but more often than not, it's off, sometimes by as much as 5. Finally, on a shoe that I was pretty much ready to quit on anyway, I go on a bad run and actually get down a little bit, but somehow it seems like the count is really favorable and I keep hammering it for max bets and go on a huge run getting like 10 out of 11 hands to get back up to where I was before. Then, I count the shoe down afterwards and it turns out, I was off by ten on my count. So basically as soon as I had a little emotional investment to the money, and I wanted the count to be favorable, my counting got completely unreliable to the point of being worthless. Anyway, after that I tell my friend that I'm absolutely, absolutely done now and I don't want to play any more. Furthermore, I don't have any desire to play BJ at all any more, as I'm now positive I don't have an edge. He sits and argues with me for 15 minutes about how unfair is to quit like that and refuses to give me a ride back to my car unless I'll give him some more action and play one more shoe. Finally, I agree, making no effort to count and pretty much just flat-betting the minimum the whole shoe until it's done. I win a little more, and then he complains again that it wasn't enough action and he thought I was going to bet more and blah blah blah. He wants me to cut the deck with him for $500. I finally agree to that too and he wins, so I say "OK, now can you just give me a ride to my car so I can go home". He argues more and says "just cut it again" and how it wasn't fair that I didn't give him enough action, and that if he were winning he'd just let me keep getting credit up to $10,000 (WTF!). Finally, after a ridiculous amount of time (about an hour from when I first said I absolutely wanted to quit), I just say "if you don't give me a ride in the next 2 minutes, I'm walking the 2 miles back to my car" and then he finally did.The whole time though, he's trying to get me to play with him later so he can get even, and then when I wake up, I have like 5 different text messages about how it wasn't fair that I quit and we should play more BJ later. It was honestly a little scary to see someone that addicted that he just could not accept a loss under any circumstances. It was like watching a hardcore drug addict trying to get a fix or something. It's not even like he's worried about the consequences. He knows he doesn't have to pay me right away and he hadn't given me any cash or anything. Also, he's blown multiple 5-figure rolls before so it's not like it's a huge loss that he's never encountered before. He's been gambling for years, has made no effort to learn how to manage his money, and is still at the point where he'll never ever accept a loss.So the lessons were:1. Don't let someone's persistence get you to do anything. It's one thing if someone has a good argument, but going along with them just because they won't shut up is almost always a terrible idea.2. Gambling is extremely addictive and if you're not constantly working on trying not to be degenerate and trying to manage your money better until you get to a point where you have pretty much no risk at all, it will end up just eating you up. 3. I'm a long way from being a profitable card-counter. As simple as it seems, I don't even have the basics down and am at best shaving a tiny little smidgeon off of the house edge in a casino environment.
Zach6668 513
So, this was last night around 4 am, so I consider it a great start to my August.WHAT? 25/50? You say...I got a stake for the session, so $262 was my cut... was supposed to be 70/30, but he gave me a little extra. This is a huge confidence booster for a few reasons. First, I have a lifetime BB/100 at 25/50 of 11.63. (At that table, it may have been sustainable.)Also, the fact that this guy was willing to stake me in a 25/50 game, for up to $1000 of his own money. That's a nice compliment.**********Otherwise, I'm up like $6 in every other game I've played today, lol. Owned at 5/10, and crushed 3/6, as usual, lol.
