Wsop $10 K Main Event Day 3, 4 And 5

is is just me or is this an absolutely terrible shove:A Bad, Bad River CardAfter Dario Minieri raised under the gun, Robert Clothier re-raised to 16,000 and both Richard Wild in the small blind and Minieri chose to call. The three players checked the {7-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{2-Hearts} flop and the {A-Clubs} on the turn, but when the {K-Clubs} fell on the river Wild led out for 12,000. Clothier moved all-in and Wild called, showing {Q-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds} for the nut flush. Clothier had made a set on the river with {K-Hearts}{K-Spades} and that most-unfortunate card on the river led to his elimination.with 4 clubs on the board your set is not that strong!!!
I don't know...I don't necessarily think this was a value push. He might've just been bluffing here.

I found this odd on pokernewsSpiderman Needs To Keep His Secret Identity a SecretAs a long-time poker reporter, I'm familiar with Tobey Maguire's dislike of publicity while he's playing. He's very nice and friendly while he's playing -- until the cameras show up. That's when he'll hide his face, put his head down, or do something else to avoid a clear shot. He actually put in a request to PokerNews on Day 2 that he not be photographed. We respected his wishes that day. However, now that a major celebrity has finished in the money of the WSOP Main Event, it's newsworthy. The fact that he's seated next to another celebrity (Sully Erna, the lead singer of Godsmack) makes it even more newsworthy. If Maguire continues to survive deeper into this tournament, the cameras will be unavoidable. Once ESPN's cameras showed up to record the two celebrities sitting side-by-side, Maguire got up out of his seat while Erna completed his hand. When Maguire returned, he was wearing the hooded sweatshirt you can see in the photo. Why does Maguire want to avoid the cameras while he plays poker? You'll have to ask him. Perhaps he (or his publicist) thinks playing high-stakes poker would adversely affect his image. Or perhaps one of the things he likes about poker is how far removed it is from Hollywood; the photographers might remind him of the L.A. paparazzi. Regardless of the reason, we wish both Mr. Maguire (currently about 170,000 in chips) and Mr. Erna (currently about 274,000) the best of luck as they go deeper into this event.Although I think it's pretty cool how Sully Erna has cashed back to back years in the ME. I guess he's pretty decent.

from pokernews, i truly wish i could witness the day when someone went off like this after getting busted from a tournament:Feats of StrengthIt's perhaps a bit surprising that this sort of thing doesn't happen more often, but still--the player at Table 24, Seat 3 moved all-in with {As}{9d} and was called by Jimmy Blevins holding {Ks}{Qs}. The {Ad}{Kd}{2c} flop gave both players a pair, but on the turn Blevins hit the {Kh} to make trips. At which point the player facing elimination slammed his fist down on the table so hard that it made the chips on the table jump. And then, when the {10s} hit the river and he knew he'd been eliminated, he LIFTED THE ENTIRE TABLE UP OFF THE GROUND and sent the chips and cards scattering all over the place. The players were able to protect their chips to keep them from spilling into a great messy pile, and the player who lost the hand was quickly removed from the table. The security cameras caught the whole episode, and from what we've heard he's going to be paid out, and then escorted from the building. We're not mentioning his name because we want to make 300% sure we have the right name (the players at his table weren't sure) and we don't want to slander the innocent.

I absolutely love whoever's in charge of typing these updates. First we got a guy from mortal kombat as the chip leader and now they want to be so sure that they knew 3 days ago who this guy was.

You would think that would happen more often.

Andrew Brokos EliminatedAfter being crippled by Danny Smith, Andrew Brokos moved all in preflop with {K-Clubs}{2-Spades}. Brokos was called by Matt Sterling who held {A-Spades}{J-Hearts}. Brokos liked the flop, as it came {K-Hearts} high, but the {A-Diamonds} on the river gave Sterling the winner and sent Brokos home in the late stages of Day 3.This is Focault(sp) who's been posting his WSOP tourney reports. Tough river

Bah. Out in 372nd for $35,000.Really tough day, so card dead. A few moves worked well. I bluffed Varkoni with 4-high (he was a really nice guy and all, but his "nerdy" comments really got annoying. It was probably my biggest test of patience to not call him a dork, and that's saying something given me). My peak was just over 220k, but for 6 hours, I got only KK, and it lost to AJ, and after that, my best pair was 4-4, best non-pair was A-9. Sick bad timing to run so bad and card dead. I eventually survived to the last level where I began shoving. Worked well, but ran into QQ from the button with K9 (woof), and didn't suck out amazingly. Was a good game, very happy with my game, played as best I could before it became desperation time, made two sick calls, never missed an opportuntiy really, and battled back from the toughest beat I've ever taken on day 1 which left me with 6,000 chips and worked it well into the money.Overall, a success, just not the one I envisioned.Between the wsop and the ceo poker tour at the venetian, a healthy 55k week, I think it's gonna still be a good year, but the big one will have to wait.Go Waco.

High Stakes this guy made like 50 million from the spiderman movies and he is married to the daughter of a billionaire movie exec. Who would expect him to not play high stakes?
