Really looked forward to this event. The structure continues to be pretty ridiculous (as it is for any of the low buy-in WSOP events). Table wasn't particularly difficult. There was one really bad player and then a few decents. I played quite well, I think. Made one big scary bluff...which worked. Also made a couple of good reads on laydowns...one that Kirk mentioned that really hurt...Blinds 25/50...UTG limps, folds to me in SB w/ 9h4h. Flop 9c 8h 4s. I check, he bets 200, I raise to 600, he calls. Turn 7c. I bet 1000 into 1325, he raises me all-in for ~1600 more. I can't think of what I can beat and fold. He tells me later he had JT. Finally had to shove A2 from the button and ran into BB's JJ.Since I was out so quickly, I hopped over to the Bellagio and played in their 1pm 1k tourny which was only 45 minutes in. Wow...incredible structure. 40 minute levels and all of the levels are there. I really don't think I can play another low buy-in live tournament after being spoiled by it. There were 90 entries and I made it quite far without ever having to suck out. Some of the players were making pretty ridiculous calls. I'd shove with some medium ace and figure I'm stomped when I'd get called...but I was always ahead. Finally busted in 13th...with 9 paying...bleh. Tournaments are so sad.

Ouch:A severe penaltyA table is broken and players disperse to their new seating assignments. An inexperienced player arrives at his new table with about 700 in chips in his hand, puts them on the table, and reaches into his pocket for the rest of his chips (approximately 7000).The players erupt, saying "You can't put chips in your pocket!". The floor is called over and Dealers on both tables are consulted as to what happened. The Dealer on the table that was broken confirms he had approximately 8000. A penalty is warranted, and they rule that the 700 he put on the table will remain in play, but that the chips he put in his pocket will be forfeited.
You could have just sent a PM. Either way, thanks for the warning.

FCPs very own Gilbertology is still in this event with about 55k. He had a very impressive rail that included Checkymcfold, Nutzbuster, BalloonGuy, Troyomac, and myself. GL tomorrow man, sadly I won't be around to cheer.

Just got back to the house, I had a great time playing this tourney today. The only other live tourney I've played was a $300 circuit prelim event in AC last year so I'm pretty satisfied with how I did today. I sat next to Jeremy Roenick for like two hours to end the day and had a blast talking to him and taking his chips :club:. Also sat at the same table with Ozium for like an hour and a half when we were both in the tent. I'm too tired to recap all the crazy hands I played, maybe tomorow morning I'll update the thread with some of the critical hands and JCesque bluffs I pulled. With 3k chips and 25-50 starting blinds you have to gamble early to get a stack and I was able to double up three times and chip up nicely to get to like 40k then was playing real well until I got to the final table of the day with like 60k. Aside from Roenick everyone there had monster chips and were really good players, especially the Swedish kid in seat 1. I'm going into tomorow with a little below average but at the same tough table. I'm hoping to chip up and/or double up within the first hour and maybe have a shot at gettin real deep. One time bracelet for FCP! ship me some aces.

Railed Gilbert for a bit, best hand I saw was when he had pocket tens, raised from SB and BB called. BB had mentioned at least 10 times that Gil was a bully, always in every pot with seat 5 etc. So you know he was frustrated and wanted to catch Gil. Gil pocket 10s, flop K 10 4 rainbow. Gil bets out about $5K, guy calls. Gil rechecks his hole cards, that's when I see what he's playing. I tell Leftygolfer so we can enjoy the destruction together. turn 6, Gil leads out about $8Kish, BB calls. river 6 Gil leads out all his $500 chips, guy says disgustedly that he let Gil catch up and makes a crying call, Gil shows full boat and guy mucks. He must hav had K4 or K10 and thought his two pair was good. Nice hand Gil.Sickest hand after bubble burst was with a Q9Q flop, and brick turn and river J sick sweedish kid in seat1 bets out a ton, gets called by seat 2, seat one has Aces, seat 2 folds....everyone is trying to figure what that guy could have, most think J10. He lost a ton of chips.good luck gil, stay away from checky...he runs bad and you could catch it.

These are the same floor people that when someone saw a rack under a guys chair with $2,000 in $100 chips, the floor guy picked it and gave it to the guy in the seat. He had just moved and didn't think they were his, but oh well, thank you very much

Haha, are you serious? What event was that in, and didn't the other players at the table object to that?

You'd be amazed at what you see. The first break of the $1,500 event last saturday.....announced "Players you are now on break you must vacat the tourney area.....3 dealers decide this is a good time for me to go on break to. True story. For a "World Class" event, you get some pretty novice people working it and playing it.
