With that board...a fold is okay here. Way too many times you're going to need an A or a 7 to hit in this multiway pot just to get half.
-
Yeah, although tim is probably the equity fave here, he probably isn't by much, and could be a dog. Depends on the quality of his opponent. At this limit though, jamming it here is rarely a terrible play.

at what point is it ok to raise w/ just the low???
Vman96 replied to benhoug's topic in Other Poker Cash Games
For limit O/8...this was a good checkraise. You don't lose money here if you split the low, and gain a ton if you don't split it. -
It is probably buried in the Omaha forum. The Hi/Lo forum did not exist when he wrote the guide.Part 1: http://fullcontactpoker.com/poker-forums/v...opic.php?t=3312Part 2: http://www.fullcontactpoker.com/poker-foru...opic.php?t=3391A mod should make this and Fritz's guides stickys. Assuming we would want to help the fish that is.

I have seen the first one happen before at Pacific actually. For half the pot anyway.A dude gets 9999 in the BB in an unraised pot.Flop comes 777Checked around.Turn hits a low card.BB bets, everyone folds but one person.River comes another low card.BB and nut low chaser split the pot.

what do you all really think? who's signing up?

If I read it correctly...its $1 bonus for $3 rake contributed. So just because a hand is raked $3, doesn't mean you're getting a $1 bonus.Someone PLEASE correct me if I am wrong. -
You do have a flush re-draw...although it's a bit rough. Both suggestions from KVOM are fine. In theory, I'm probably raising, but if I was playing 6-12 for the first time live...I wouldn't be shocked if I called.
-
SWEET
-
Unless BB is pretty loose, I would think this is a pretty easy break. I don't really play single draw lowball though, so I'm not sure if 3-betting a 9 pre-draw is very common. Also consider this, if you stand pat are you calling a bet from the BB post-draw?If you draw, you have 12 outs to improve to a likely winner, and maybe as many as 16. I'm probably breaking and I kick myself if BB has a worse hand.
-
With two low cards on the board, this is a pretty easy throw away as you only have 6 clean outs.Glad to see I'm not the only one in champaign, il that likes O/8...lol
-
Check/folding the flop here. Bottom two pair is crap, even top 2 pair is crap if it's 10's up. The board is pretty coordinated, you're probably on a zero or two outer for the high...a flush or straight is probably hitting here. 3rd nut low will also be tough to hold up 4 handed here too.
-
I would only play 2 high pairs...or AA22, AA33.Hands like 6699 are trash.
-
There are 6 different combinations of AA, and for each of these there are 2 possibilities for AA23, so 12 possible AA23 hands as opposed to 13 possible quads.Yep, this is right. Both are roughly 1 in 20k.I've got it at least once. Lost with it the time I clearly remember...lolI've got quads 3 times.
-
In reality this isn't double suited, it's more like half suited. You can't depend on the 8 high flush draw....and you can half-way depend on the 10 high draw. Better off mucking this preflop.
-
Yeah, thats why I said this was an auto limp. Limping allows you to get those four people with A3, A4, KJT8, or worse into the hand. Now raising, that would be not as smart since you might get worse hands to fold preflop. It is best to try to draw trashier hands in with a limp. Also rocket has a 6! So if he does hit a wheel, he does have a chance to three-quarter.Ironically, the first time I got AA23 (ds) was UTG. Of course the flop bricked though, ugh.
-
I knew you were tight Rocket, but damn!Remember this is LIMIT O/8, position is a plus, but it's much less valuable than in PLO8. This is an auto-limp regardless of position, and I am probably raising it in LP. See those 4 limpers ahead of you? You probably hold a better hand than all of them. I don't think I have ever mucked A246 preflop in LO8 in an unraised pot.
-
Well, as other posters have pointed out, mathematically, the call is probably okay. It depends on if you want to risk a $25 buy-in or not. I prefer to play post-flop in PLO...so I would probably just get out of the way here.
-
Nah, I'm with you here fritz. Check-raising the flop does give us a pretty good idea where we are here. A 3 bet makes this a pretty easy laydown if we can believe a player won't re-raise with a complete bluff. You can't depend on the A-7 to give you low either...although it would have in this case if a low card hit.And for the people ripping on the villain for hand selection...there are worse hands to play 3-handed. I think everyone failed to notice the shorthanded aspect of the game.
-
Yeah the underfull really sucks here. Most likely 1 or 2 people have a K...and each are roughly 40% to hit by the river. If you experience major betting on the turn, you would probably want to lay it down...since your low was just counterfeited.
-
Probably about $200-300 playing 2/4 O/8
-
Although the way you wrote your examples...you make it sound like the 3rd boat example...2's full is the worst. It's not....your 2nd example is a much weaker boat. You definitely push the 1st boat and you pay off anyone with quads. If you are in LP...you could bet with boat 2....but I am more apt to check/call.Boat 3 is stronger because you have the top boat that contains the board pairing. I probably bet and call a raise here.
-
I'm glad your son had a great time dna....sad to see the blues lose again though. I claim the playoff streak for the Blues is over...and there is still 3/4ths of the season left...ugh
-
I dunno...but God, I would hope so for that amount of money! If only I had that kind of money.... Good Luck playing.
-
With that preflop action...it looks like you played it just fine. And there is nothing wrong with "Best Hand In...Best Hand Out"
-
What about a hand like (AA)2? Depending on the table, should we complete here? At some tables that I play at...if I just bring-in here....I am getting 6 to 4th street. And I would think that wouldn't be a good scenario for AA.
