  1. There are smaller swings in PLO8 than in HE. So 8 is about what's recommended. And Fish, I was basically saying I've been cashing out my profits nightly.
  2. Grudge, you should have been on tonight, it was better than a Friday night on there. Is there some new thing where people play drunk on Tuesdays now?
  3. I've always been pretty bad about bankroll management and I think I've finally found my cure. I play mostly PLO8 and have been keeping 8 buy-ins in my account. I have been cashing out every night when I'm done playing anything above the 8 buy ins. This has been keeping me from having the itch to step up and play higher than my bankroll allows. How often does everyone else out there cash out?
  4. I don't see how he called on the flop. But I don't pay much short handed.
  5. You played it fine, although I have run into AA in hands like this in the past....
  6. Do you play much high/low split, as this hand happens to be?JJxx and QQxx are garbage, unless your XX is somethinglike, oh, A2...as I said, they are worth playing only in an unraised pot, not playing hands like that if you can get in cheaply is -EV.
  7. I think hands like JJxx and QQxx are worth playing only in an unraised pot. I don't play much limit, so my thinking comes from pot limit.I think your flop play is okay, but you need to think of a flopped set as a drawing hand. I think this is a fairly easy dump on the turn, you have to assume that the flush draw is out there, considering the flop play. I actually lost my stack on a similar hand yesterday, so I learned my lesson.
  8. I always feel like I've missed the boat if I post in a thread after DN. Anyway, Mike wouldn't feel bad about taking 100 G's of DN, so why should he care?I think a better question would be if you would take the last dollars of Jen Harman...
  9. I love when I'm sitting in a ring game and someone asks me in the chat box "are you FCP?" For some reason, I always get a kick out of that. It's like I know the secret handshake, and no one else has any clue what we're talking about. On a related note, that happened to me tonight. And I asked him "Did you see the thread about the guy folding AA before the flop?"
  10. If you're looking for non strategy, I'd suggest One of a Kind. Strategy, TOP is well worth reading. If you're in the mood for non-poker, Crossing California or Middlesex are personal fav's.
  11. It allows the person holding the naked ace to bet and put pressure on the other player in case he is playing a lower flush, as he knows he is not betting into the nuts. Holding the naked ace of a flush draw is one of the few times a bluff will work in Omaha.
  12. I would play this hand full speed ahead on the flop. There aren't many hands you are behind. If someone has Ah3h8c9d your EE is .544If someone has QsQh9c8d your EE is .599(the 89 is just my stab at random cards)The only hands you have to worry about areAh3h5 X and A 3 Q Q. So you really want action on this, at this level, players will call pot sized bets with pretty much anything, so I think potting it is the right move. But you want a caller on your bet, so betting something you think will be called is the move you want to make. I also like the raise preflop, I think most players are too
  13. can someone give us the jist of what his original post that started all of this was about?
  14. The hand is playable, and your play looks okay to me. Your bet on the turn kind of screams "naked low" but that's not always a bad thing.
  15. I might min-raise here, and see if he'll bite and come over the top. I think a call here puts you in a bad spot. It let's the villain now you have a hand, and if you come out firing on the river he may lay it down. And if you check the river hoping to CR, he may just check behind. I think some kind of raise is needed, and as the previous poster stated, it needs to be something he'll call.
  16. Let me first say that I hate no limit Omaha 8. I think pot limit is a great game because of the progressive nature of the betting. That being said, there are hands that I'll reraise with preflop and have no problem getting all in with preflop.Probably any AA2x, AA3x, AA45, of course single and double suited makes them all the better. Maybe A234 double suited. That's probably about it.
  17. I probably play live less than 20% of my total play. When I play online, I'm more focused and it's more of a money making mission. Most of the time I play live it's a friendly game to I don't really care if I win $20 or lose $20. And when I'm in Vegas, it's my vacation, so I get really drunk and usually make a donation. Also, I second the notion that it seems like you see more strange things online because of the increased number of hands.
  18. As for the result, he did fold, so I assume he was on a similar draw as me. I usually don't like betting a large amount on pure bluff, especially in Omaha 8.
  19. okay, I'm an idiot, I didn't read his other thread.
  20. Did I miss something in his posts? I didn't see anything about him wanting to punch someone. I am at work so my attention was divided at times while I was reading them, so it's possible I missed it.
  21. Good post. Hopefully, if the big name players keep pointing out the problems with the WSOP, Harrah's will do something to correct at least some of them.
  22. yeah, I just looked back and saw my numbers were wrong, I'm at work and had to close down the history as I was writing this.
  23. Oops, just noticed the section this is in, I found it in the Omaha 8 area.
