There is a tactic I like to use in the 1st hr. It's better to have a little cushion, so if you get your chips up to 2k, this play works fine. It involves taking alot of flops in LP. It's more of a post flop play tho, so, as in the example, if u ever happen to find urself playing a mediocre hand, u can apply it . Its all about the implied odds of the situation. by the sounds of things, we both play in quite a similarly structured game.I don't like the push post flop but i have seen a few good players make the play, but its too high risk for my liking. I think the fold is good. chances are, he knew Jamie was on a draw, the 34 could easily have been a Jack high flush draw, in which case, binger is drawing to an OESD. Rly wana risk ur life on that ? and the risk that binger has a set and u cud be dead on the turn etc etc

Not sure if I was the player the OP was referring to, but I was losing about $1k when starting. The reason I kept play was because I felt I was getting better. And naturally, getting better means losing less, which eventually leads to winning.As for others, my mom for example, she likes to play just because it helps her unwind and relax. She knows shes a loser but she likes to play, and playing 10c ante Stud isn't going to break anyway. You gotta look at it like this.
