MarkACE 0
Hey guys, I am finally getting my computer this weekend and I will start playing on my party poker account. My question is.... I have a bankroll of about $1,100 and I understand that you need atleast 1,800 to play in 3-6 limit games. Would it be a really bad move to play 3-6 instead of 2-4 online? because I really don't like 2-4 and I'm used to playing 3-6 live at my local card room.
slash 0
You're not that far from having a proper 300BB bankroll for 3-6. Stick to 2-4 until you make that next 700 and then move up. Or else just be super careful to avoid a bad downswing.Or you could try 20-40.
bdc30 0
I would be careful, until you get comfortable with online poker.A 3-6 table at a casino is one of the lowest limits, thereforeall the fish gravitate to it.Online 3-6 is considered I would think a medium/high limit, given that you can find .01-.02 games out there.3-6 online I would think is about equal to 5-10, 6-12 in a casino (the ones I've been to anyways)Stay to what you can afford. You need 300X BB to play limit poker. What you do with this info. is your decision.

It's pretty profitable and you can use it to make the adjustments for online play before you move to 3-6. I'd suggest you have at least $1700 before moving to 3-6 and I'd be more comfortable with 1800.
akoff 0
just be a little bit careful online. the hands go so much faster you need more reserve then a live game.....i personally tilt much much easier online. learn to walk away, have a smoke or something or it will kill you. cougfan 0
I actually play 3-6 and 5-10 on partypoker daily, and $1100 is close enough to start with. If you fet low then worry about it. I can also tell you that 3-6 games are extremely beatable on partypoker. I have never had a downswing of more than 120 big bets, and when I started playing 3-6 I had only $500, and turned it into $2000 in a month. If you are patient and can take getting sucked out on you will beat the 3-6 game. Also, I found that there are more idiots giving money away in the high hand and bad beat jackpot tables. Good Luck. jjdylan 0
3/6 at your local casino plays about the same as .5/1 or 1/2 online...be careful not to get in over your head if you jump into a 3/6 game online...
TheIceman05 0
Trust me on this. TRUST ME:Start out playing 1/2 for about 5000 hands. You should be able to crank that out a week. That's about 50 hours worth of 2-tabling work. If you're comfortable and beating that game, move on up to 2-4. Try that for 5-10,ooo hands. If you're still beating that game, go ahead and take your 3-6 stab. But the 5-10 game at my local casino(s) is probably worse than 1-2 games you'll find online. Get comfortable with the playing style and skill level before you put a good chunk of your roll at stakeTrust me.Ice
squizie 0
F@%( it.......just go ahead and play 20-40....Go big or go home right???
MarkACE 0
Very usefull advice. I guess the right thing to do would be to try the 2-4 tables first see how I do. 2-4 online should be a lot better than 2-4 at a casino because the casinos seem so unbeatable because of the rake. Thanks for the help!
