Smelly Gambler Tossed From Casino

Recommended Posts

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (AP) -- Yes, Michael Wax stank. He's the first to admit it. The 440-pound New York City man said he was playing poker in an Atlantic City casino for 17 hours Tuesday and didn't have time to clean up. He understands why grossed-out gamblers complained about his body odor, but said he didn't deserve stinky treatment from the casino that asked him to leave. Dave Coskey, a spokesman for the Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa, said it is company policy not to comment on matters involving customers. Wax said he told casino officials: "There's no question I stink. I'm not denying it. I do have an odor. I've been playing for 17 hours." The 54-year-old limousine company owner, who says he is a frequent gambler at the Borgata, said a poker room manager followed him into the restroom and informed him that patrons at his table were complaining about his body odor. When the Brooklyn man tried to retake his seat at the table, he said a manager told him to leave. He said he asked for a free room to freshen up, and the casino refused. He promptly filed a complaint about his treatment with the Casino Control Commission. His complaint will be reviewed to determine whether any state gambling laws or regulations were violated, a commission spokesman said Wednesday. Wax said his instincts tell him to find a different casino to patronize, but he likes gambling at the Borgata. He said the casino was out of line to tell him he stinks in front of other patrons. "I would like an apology," Wax said.

With logical ability like that he must make a hell of a poker player

Maybe the casino should have assisted his request to "freshen up" (does that mean he has a vagina?), but he sounds like a whiner. A big fat whiner.

Yeah I think they could have done better than publicly embarassing the fat fvck. How big of a deal would it be to let someone use a room for a couple hours that has been giving you action for 17 hours?

Going to the press embarrassed him, not the casino.

They did call him stinky in front of the other patrons (but I guess they already knew he stunk lol) . But yeah going to the press was definitely not a good look on his part.

Where does it say they told him in front of the customers. I read it as the poker manger followed him to the bathroom and told him there. When he came back they asked him to leave. Of course the others knew why but management did not discuss the smelliness at the table.

I think there is a big difference here. The offending customer had to be made aware of the situation. Do you want someone to say "Hey fatass you stink and people don't like you. You have to leave."? Or would you rather them take him aside, follow him to the bathroom, to tell him politely, " We have had some complaints about your hygiene." I agree that maybe they could have let him take a shower in a room but it is not the responsibility of the casino to provide that. They was facing the potiential of losing customers with him at the table.

I am sorry but I am fckn lost. I just said they could have gave the guy a shower. The article said they followed him to the bathroom and told him he stunk. It doesn't say they asked him to leave . So why wait til he goes back to the table to ask him to leave. Why not tell him to leave when you told him he stunk in the bathroom. Someone tells me I stink I am gonna take the **** off. Or go buy some axe or something.

I doubt he will profit. It will probably be -ev for his cab company or limo company whatever it is.

i've been at a table with a very smelly person before. My first step was moving my chair away from him in a fairly obvious manner. After that, i discreetly advised the floor to his poor hygene. When they said they couldnt do anything (which i find completely ridiculous) i asked my dealer for a seat change. i moved completely across the table and wouldn't you know it, it didn't matter where you sat, this guy was just that offensive and to top it off, he was really drunk and drooling. I got lucky that he left shortly thereafter. Had he been a giant fish that played i wouldn't have cared, but he was slow and held up the game and drove the table nuts

You shouldnt even be allowed to play if your 440 pounds. They should have special tables for people that big. Besides the smell the people sitting next to him were probably completely uncomfortable and unable to sit as close to the table as they would have liked due to this mans size. Plus, Ive seen people this big sit sideways as well making it ridiculously annoying for the people around him.

^^^^^^^ obv. solution, which is why it was not employed. Staff at Borgota did not impress me relative to the size of the room. (April Atlantic City trip report overdue).

Oh no ... 10 seat 10 seat 10 seat. Always. Much easier to read and see action coming at you.

No, they didn't. Reading is hard.

That has a tendency to happen when you don't think before you post.
