At a different time, under different circumstances, yeah, sure he's got to go broke w/ this hand, but not on day 2 of the 2nd biggest tournament of the year w/ a top-10 chip stack, playing against a top player who has you covered. Much like you can't win one of these on the first day, you can't win it on the second either.Obv. I wasn't there, and I'm not aware of the intangibles like JC's table image, RDW's table image etc. etc. but there's no reason to risk all you chips (when you have PLENTY) on a hand where you're at best flipping a coin. You can try to make the argument that he was playing to win the tourmament, but you can't win it for another 3 days. It's kind like the argument of hand 1 of the Main Event. You've got QQ, and a player in front of you moves all-in, accidentally exposing AK suited, do you call? Obv. you're getting the best of it, but I don't think those extra chips give you enough of a chance to win the whole event to risk going broke.Anyone want to bet me that neither Phil Hellmuth nor Roland wins this event?wow dude, are you serious? Of course I didn't have to go broke with 25dd here, but if I'm gonna play the hand I'm certainly loving this flop. Did you not understand the action? I hope you didn't because that would make more sense. Once again, he checked I bet 6k he c/r'd 26k after playing EVERY flop super aggro, and I haven't played a big hand other than the neverwin hand which I didn't show. I think MOST of the time I'm going to make it 100k and he's going to fold a hand like A7dd 910dd, 78dd AJdd, and any 1 pr hand he might have there is 45k in the pot before I make it 100k, thats about 1/6 of my stack, which is a lot. The rest of the time he's going to have QK, Jd10d, and slight chance of a set, in this case I've already commited myself to calling the all in, with 350 or more in the pot it would be absolutely retarded to fold for 120k more. You're acting like he open shoved 250k into 40k and I made the call.....Also your arguement on not winning the tourney in the 2nd day is terrible....in that case you should be folding any risky situation on day 4 because you can't win the tourney on day 4 either can you? I think every tourney that I've gone deep in I've a fairly good Idea that I was going to go deep by the end of day 2. Sure, I can't guarantee myself a win, but once I have the chiplead I can guarantee myself a better shot to win than most of the field. Betting that hellmuth or Roland to win would be retarded but I bet that 2 out of the 3 people Roland, Hellmuth and Imperium (sorel mizzi whom I have 5% of btw) will get deep. Being good + having a stack = good shot at winning. The only thing you can argue is that I should have folded PF or that I should have bet folded the flop, but if I called most of Ivey's raises with 47s K5c's and J8o why wouldnt I call RW's with a similar type of hand....I've done what I've done in tourneys playing these hands and playing them aggressively and not being afraid to bust, and that's what I did here.
