Bellagio And Adjacent Hotels

is the tropicana walkable to the bellagio? if so, how long? is it a complete shithole?
To be nice...it's not very nice.Flamingo and Barbary (Bill's Gambling Hall now) are pretty much across the street from Bellagio and relatively inexpensive. IP is cheap as well, about another 5-7 minute walk.

Wow. Trop might be your best bet then. Other than that, try expedia. You might get lucky.

Stay downtown.Cheaper rooms, since all you're going to be doing is sleeping and showering in your room (I assume). The gf and I prefer Fitzgeralds. Clean, comfortable, good games. Go see the Fremont street experience. You can take a cab to the strip for less than $20, or for like $3, take a busride, but I wouldn't suggest that route unless you have 30-45 min to kill for the ride to the strip.

When I was Downtown, that place looked like a crack-infested, inbred-hillbilly joint. I even remember seeing a guy dressed as a farmer walking barefoot through the gaming floor.

i ended up booking the trop, it was a whopping $500 total for 6 nights, and id rather put the other $2000 or so towards poker than stay right next to the bellagio.i was told there's a monorail in the mgm that goes to ballys. figure ill take that to get to the tournamenti CANNOT wait to get there

I always find that travelworm www.travelworm.com has the best hotel prices for Vegas. It's usually better to rent a car and just use valet parking. If you end up getting trashed and can't drive back to your hotel then find some friendly person and ask if you can share her room.

try taking a look at imperial palace. Its cheap and its very close.
QFT. Like 40 bucks on weekdays. 60 bucks weekends. It's a dump, but you can't beat the location unless you want to play at MGM the entire time. If that's the case, stay at Xcal -- just a little more than IP.

A very nice man whom I was playing with at casino Windsor took a one dollar bill and made it into your avator and gave it to me. I offered him a dollar for the exchange and he would'nt take it. It was one of the nicest things I've seen a random stranger do, and I still have it with me.

If you stay at the USA Youth Hostel on Freemont, you can book 14 days in an 8-bed male dorm for $226. That's right, two weeks for $226! I just checked, and they're wide open. (How much time do people spend in their rooms, anyway?) Even if you found a room for $100 a night, staying here would save you $1,174 to invest in your game. Hell, even buying a new outfit would be a better use of the money, IMO. Take the bus instead of a cab and you'll save even more...I'm completely pathological about maximizing value and minimizing costs, so YMMV.

Then you could run that money up to like 5k then get your throat slit for it back at the hostel.

haha...true. Well, when I went a couple of years ago, it was mainly a bunch of friendly European backpacker-types. A lot of scum outside, but I still felt reasonably safe. Wear a money belt and never take it off, and you should be okay. Here's a picture from their website...LOL85.jpg
