so your playing heads up online and your opponent either doesn't show or disconnectsdo you steal his blinds or sit out and wait for him?I'd be more likely to wait for a disconnect in the middle of the game than someone who never showed but really I just take the blinds and feel sort of badPoker stars takes forever to fold the hands but FCP actually does it pretty quicklythey usually ***** when they get back but its happened to me and they do the same thing

i would do it pretty much like you, but lets not forget if i do play a heads up sng, it is probably only for about 10 bucks, so its not like anyone is losing substantial money. if he doesnt show up from the start id steal the blinds. if he disconnects during play, i would sit out for 5 minutes giving him time to restart his computer, then id steal. i would be too afraid of him coming back while i was on the pot or something and stealing my blinds.

This is something that's plagued me for a long time. I have come to the conclusion that you HAVE to steal, or you are simply giving away money. There was a period of about 3 months where I'd disconnect 2-5 times per 6 hour session on Full Tilt. I do not recall a single time that anyone ever waited for me. It doesn't justify the behavior... but if you're willing to get taken advantage of, and not do the same thing to others, you are giving away money.I used to wait for people... let all my timers expire and even trade blinds with them. NO ONE does this. I know there's going to be people below in this thread saying, "I wait every time..." and to them, I frankly don't believe you. I have thousands of HU games under my belt and many disconnects.If this was a feature that a poker room did not want you to exploit they could very easily code the game to stop, put a 2-3 minute timer on and then let play resume whether your opponent has come back or not. They have not done this.

not only that if the blinds are say 50-100 of FCP or poker room and you are gone three minutes you could go from dominate chip lead to out

its a touchy situation for sure. remember this is a highly opinionated question. it all comes down to what your morals are. i personally wuold give them at least 5 minutes to get the computer back up and running. then steal that f*ckers blinds and get your money.

I had a guy show up late enough to lose about 200 chips once and he shows up and starts bitching at me (i think that people that don't show have less to ***** about because - your time is after all money online)then he says i have to tend the babyI ask what he expects me to dohe keeps swearing at me that i'm a jerk and won't let him tend his babyI tell him that if he sits out I will sit out too but he refuses and just keeps swearing at me

I'll steal it all day long, unless I happen to be on good terms with the opponent. But my reasoning is that I need every advantage in HU play. I am a horrible HU player and if the oppenent d/c then it's a godsend. But that's just the HU donk player part of me talking.

I've slow played for a disconnected player twice since I started playing online. The first time I slow played, the guy came back and called me an idiot, but said thanks. The second time, the player returned and just cussed at me for stealing his blinds, even though I had waited. Since then I can't hit the call/check button fast enough.

Poker stars takes forever to fold the handsI once played a $5 lhe hu at Stars, then disconnected after the first hand on purpose. I didn't care about the $5, but the player who wanted my money had to "earn" it.

I've waited on some occasions and stole on others, really just depends on the situation and if the person disconnected from beginning or half-way through and also if they were an a** or not before the disconnect. Also if its happening frequent I will not wait, but I give everyone some slack as I too would want some if I got disconnected.....JMO

Oh nice. On full tilt you just raise from the SB to take their BB and they auto-fold their SB.

On FCP I don't think you can sit out, only wait for the timer to run down all the way then bet. I think of myself as a nice person, but there's no way I'm not stealing. I've disconnected HU against maybe 15 different opponenets and all 15 immediately started stealing. It's like game theory, everyone picks to steal instead of wait because there are always a few people that would steal under any circumstance.

I've had internet problems before...I'd say 3 times where I couldn't get back on within 5 minutes.You know how many times the other guy waited for me?ZERO.F 'em all!You're not breaking any rules and the other guy won't give you a break when it happens to you. I fully expect the other player to take my blinds while I'm screwing around with my computer.I don't care if his name is Kid Pocket I'm taking the cash!
