Napa_Don 688
Boss just asked me if I’d be interested in staying on as a consultant until, presumably, the bank conversion next April. Turns out, nobody wants to work with the only other person who could come close to doing what I do. Told them to send the offer to my lawyer to review. So, be expecting that. hank213 1,823
It's only a 3 day weekend for the socialist rich banker types and public sector apparatchiks. The rest of will be clocking in and grinding away as per the usual.

Napa_Don 688
No real plans. Went to a local German bar for their Oktoberfest party Friday night with some friends. I wasn’t planning on going but my friend said one of his friends girlfriend was being some single friends. Talked to them a little bit. It was so loud and crowded that I couldn’t really hear what she was saying. She was cute though. Fortunately, that ended at 11 so for good measure we went to a Russian vodka bar. The single girls didn’t join us though, unfortunately. But we got there and since I’m not into vodka I just ordered some bud lights. It was a good time. My friend though had a bit of a hissy fit when he got the tab and realized his wife’s 3 drinks cost like $70 and he paid and then walked home. (Like 2 miles). Pretty good stuff. All in all, a solid night. Yesterday, I spent most of the day making the foundation and then moving my new shed into place. Today, I anchored it down and then did a bunch of lawn work. Now, im sitting in my robe trying to muster the energy to go to the store to get some food because im starving. A real catch-22 on my hands. Tomorrow I’ll probably just do inside house stuff. Been doing outside stuff all week so the inside is a real pig sty. Plus, I’ve still got a handful of boxes to go through and organize.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I bought these: https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/loafers-slip-ons/arezzo-italian-loafer/SF55106.html?dwvar_SF55106_color=55106#prefn1=styles&srule=best-sellers&prefv1=Tassel%2C+Kiltie+&start=1 If I like them, I’ll probably replace the rest of my work shoes. Still need to lose the weight to redo my wardrobe. Tired of looking like shit at work. I say this as I sit here drinking German beers.

InternetExplorer 2,609
I came very close to buying these as well. https://www.allenedmonds.com/shoes/mens-shoes/oxford-derby-shoes/fifth-avenue-cap-toe-oxford/SF5705.html?dwvar_SF5705_color=2175#srule=best-sellers&sz=18&start=1 I felt like I needed to make sure I am capable of taking care of nice shoes. I have a similar style pair that I’ve abused. I would need to form good winter habits for example. We have a shoe shine guy that comes in a few times a year, which makes it easier. I don’t know. Having regrets about not doing it.

Essay has a lot to learn from a man like you, Strat you had a chance to slide into the top spot and you BLEW IT as for those shoes, i'm not sold on the silver thing. a little flashy for me. i prefer a classic tassle. BigDMcGee 3,352
I don't like loafers of any kind, tbh, but I like Strats Moxie, and that's what is important
Essay21 2,385
there’s no room for moxie in financial planning, not when you’re looking to generate safe but reasonable returns.
David_Sklansky 1,903
Hey SA, check this out: https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1987-mercedes-benz-190e-2-3-16-13/ I don't know how you feel about Mercs, but you can get a TON of 190E for your money, and these are built better than an E30 M3, for 1/4 the price. The stock inputs are going to feel a lot sloppier, but that's an easy fix in the aftermarket, and I think it's a cooler car in a lot of ways, with less vape baggage attached to it. Nice little affordable option for a cultured German car guy your age.

You're my best best friend. Don't get it twisted, my best best friend. I've worked too long to be your best best friend and vice versa and I couldn't live with myself if I had already lost that place. Look, our (not best) best friend Strat is making progress. Personally, I don't go for dress shoes with soles like that pair, impracticability in a winter climate be damned, and if I were getting a pair of horsebit loafers I couldn't live with myself unless I spent the $700 on the OG gucci version, which is why I don't have a pair of horsebit loafers, but that's all personal preference and they're still a very nice shoe and miles and miles ahead of whatever pair of rockports he was wearing before.
