SuitedAces21 2,722
Had an appointment with the Oncologist today to go over last weeks Pet scan (basically a cancer scan) and my lymphoma is in remission. The damned staff infection I got in my port not long after receiving it back in June is still hanging on though. I have 3 abscesses that will need drained and I'll be back on antibiotics to try again to clean it out of my system. I've been off antibiotics very little since June which isn't good but every time I go off them the damned staff raises it's ugly head. Once the infection is gone we'll decide on our next move. Will probably mean a stem cell transplant (using my own stem cells) after 7 days of prep, then 3 weeks in the hospital for 7 days of very strong chemo then 2 weeks of my stem cells regrowing my immune system. The goal being a cure of the disease or, at worst, prolonged remission. We shall see. keep the faith brother. you got this thing on the ropes.
Napa Lite 3,278
Yeah but isn't he also supposed to be like wicked smaht? Surely it wasn't those parts either... Definitely not those parts, either. More the obsessive/compulsive and lack of social skills parts. Good luck, tilt. We're pulling (our dicks out) for you.
Napa Lite 3,278
I actually signed up for the bone marrow donor registry a few months ago and just 2 weeks ago got added to the official registry. And I just matched with somebody and they want me to come in for further testing now. She's a woman in her seventies, which feels a little selfish to me, but I'm too polite and awkward to back out now. It's a good possibility I won't end up having to actually donate though.
Napa Lite 3,278
I would advise you are treading dangerously close to tm infringement and i will vigorously pursue any perceived infringement of Somewhere on the Spectrum Tax Prep LLC intellectual property. By the by, I forgot about this name and how great it is and wish I could use it. Although...I did just see a CPE course offered by a large woman called "Too fat to be homecoming queen, but not to be general counsel - life's lesson on the way to the C suite" so...maybe?

Essay21 2,385
every time I think about a marrow donation I think of that Rescue Me episode where Lou donates and the guy is ungrateful and Lou gets drunk and yells GIMME BACK MY MARROW, ASSSHOLE.

Napa Lite 3,278
I've had a terrible headache all day and I didn't even drink last night. 2017 can kick rocks as far as I'm concerned. I'm ready for 2018.

Tiltinagain 973
Oh, that was probably too soon. We just learned today that a good friend of my wifes, who she's known since high school, died of an aneurysm on Friday. 2016 was a nasty bitch.
Napa Lite 3,278
Well we wouldn't have known unless you told us. Thanks for bringing the mood down, dork. No joke, I used to legit worry I had an aneurysm in my brain just waiting to explode because I could feel the vessel pulsing in my head when I got stressed (so, like all the time). Not where I always get this headache, mind you. And then I almost died and as part of that they ran all those different tests on all my major organs and I came back with no problems and I haven't felt it since. Go figure.
Napa Lite 3,278
A tv's a solid choice, braj. And I know you make about a milli dollars a year but I bet if you wait a week or two for Super Bowl sales to really kick off you can get substantial savings.
Essay21 2,385
That's a good point brosef Stalin. I'm in no hurry, so why not wait until the moment is right and fvck Best Buy good and proper.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I bought a 50" Westinghouse from Best Buy for $230 today. Pretty good deal I'd say. First entertainment thing I've bought for my place other than like, bourbon.
Essay21 2,385
That's a hot price. I went up there today and narrowed the choice to the 55' curved Samsung for 1299 or the 60' LG for 1099. The Samsung had something called quantum dot technology (or something like that) that really made the colors POP.
InternetExplorer 2,609
I also got a Chromecast and the 3mo HBO Now deal that comes with it. I will definitely get $270 of value out of this setup. I can't believe the price compression in TVs. Side by side, I'm sure mine looks like shit compared to the $1100 model, but I watch TV on only one screen, and don't notice the difference standalone. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just explaining why going super cheap wasn't the waste of money that it typically is.

SA, not sure what model you are looking at but Amazon is cheaper than that on the Samsungs. May be worth a gander.
Governator 54
Can't believe the cost these days. Back in 2007 I bought a 48" Sharp Aquos LCD for $2800 (CDN). The thing is worth like $15 today. Good ol' LCD vs Plasma days.

But will amazon accept the 1000 dollars in Best Buy gift cards I have burning a hole in my pocket?
Napa Lite 3,278
Bestbuy will price match Amazon if it's the same model. Sometimes they get tricky by changing a letter so it's the Best Buy vs Amazon model though.
