Recommended Posts

i was wondering two things maybe someone can help me here :/how much did the Bellagio rake the 2000/4000 and the 4000/8000 games? and how much went to the dealers per hour?someone has an idea?/how much the big games(100/200 to 500/1000 and the nolimit 100/200) are raked by casinos in live play?online the 100/200 of ps is rake about 3$ per hand (0 pre flop 4$ on most hands) in short handed playthanks all

The rake is probably some fixed amount, or a percentage.I imagine the dealers make their usual wages + tips no matter what limit they are dealing.

I think there is a seat charge (I agree with the guy above). I also wonder if the big game even pays much (casinos want the big game so I am sure there is some competition). As for tipping...I have heard that most pros are not big tippers. Then again it is hard to tip when all of your chips are $1,000 and $5,000.Maybe DN can shed some light here.

i knew it was an hourly rate but i'm chocked to see that it's only 8 or 10 an hour !!!!!at my club (the acf in paris) it's 50eur (60$) per hour to play dealer choice pot limit 20/40 (minimum stack 2000eur)i knew the rake was enormus at the acf(on the 2 4 no limit game it's about 250eur an hour for 9players ! but the game is so soft and there's often a lot of money on the table sometimes 10keur or more so it's worth it) but i'm choked !even if it's mostly limit poker i thought it was 100$ an hour at least plus 30$ per hour for the dealeron big games players use small chips to tipdealers and spectators have to understand that it cost a lot to tip even if you're playing thousands every day because you can play thousands every day but only win a cople of hundreds a day and you have to tip waitress, doorman, car man, man who take you coat...

Its an hourly rate and the reason they arent tipping big is because they arent usually winning big. You win an eighty thousand dollar pot are you going to tip thousand?I would imagine the swings in that game make tipping limited.on a side note that is ridiculous that the charge is so low on those seats.we have a 1-2 no limit table at our casino that charges 5 dollars a half hour. I have never been able to beat the time, for profit much less if I tip.

Now that I thought about it, maybe it is better to pay time...if you win 5 pots an hour with a $3 rake you are paying more than you would in straight time. But, if you don't win any the first hour you are seriously behind in the second hour.

Ten bucks an hour for 1/2 is ridiculous...surprised any body sits for it.
foxwoods had a 4 hour wait for people to play 1/2 NL with a 5 dollar half hour time charge.
10bucks an hour for 1/2 no limit is a big rake but it can be beat for 1/2 limit it's just ridicoulus !when it's an hourly rate, you know exactly what you're paying to the casino i prefer and you're not afraid of making the pot big and spliting

The rake for the big game is the same as the time charge for 30/60.  Eight dollars per half hour.  And the previous poster was correct; the tips in that game are very small.  Better tips dealing 10/20.
Why do you morons offer up answers as fact when you have no clue what you are talking about? Time:30/60 = $6 per dealer2000/4000 = $10 per dealer=Not the same so shut your piehole

I'll kick you all in the teeth then, Star City Casino in Sydney Australia's lowest level NL game is 2.50/5 blinds and each pllyer is charged $1 per hand before they are dealt cards.Limit lowest game is 5/10 with a 75c per hand. If this ammount seems funny u give the dealer $10 and he gives you a pile of blue "CC's" worth 75c and a $2.50 chip for ur small blind

Yeah, I've played at that casino in Detroit. 1/2 was 6 bucks per half hour. After I sat down and realized this, I was like "are you serious? Why does anyone play this game?" Everyone just kind of shrugged at me, looking like zombies. "grunt........hurrrrummfff"It makes me wonder why people would play in the casino at all at low limits. I have a feeling if the rakes don't get better in casinos, home games and the internet will eventually make poker rooms outside of the higher limits a thing of the past. But then again, who am I kidding. There are some seriously dumb people out there playing poker, and I'm reminded of it every time I sit down and play.....

These players aren't realistically looking at hourly expectation and rake. They just want to toss chips around and have a few drinks.

they have $1-$5 chips when they play the big game I heard daniel was kinda a cheap tipper but chau gaing would tip the most (like $25)
Cheap fu(kin' ba$tard. Probably doesn't understand a hard day's work, while Chau Giang has worked tip jobs, and understands the working man/woman's struggle. Chau is a better man. If Negreanu tips big, it's all about him; he is afterall a sleazy guy, pretending to be the "people's" poker player. You $uck Negreanu. Why people on this site turn you into a hero is beyond me. Show some class. Even John Phan, a middle class poker winner donates to poor Huean villages. Get out of the poker world for a second. They say you think outside the box, but all I see in your career is bottom lines within a tiny box you've built around your huge-a$$ ego: poster boy for the MTV poker generation.

Yeah, that $6 charge is far from prohibitive. I was playing 1-2 live last weekend, and I saw someone go all-in for $150 with K3...........and get called by 83. Of course, the 83 guy was completely trashed and he wandered off a few hands later, and the K3 guy left before I could get a hand too. Then, inspired by the shit hands that had been getting shown down, I got all-in with AQ against AK in a spot I normally would have gotten away from. The ATM was broken at the casino so I just gave up and went home a $200 loser in the worst game I've ever seen in my life.Kinda got off track there a little bit. The point was that most of the people that play live poker hardly care about money at all, and as long as people like that keep playing, the rake will have to get a lot higher than $12 an hour to keep the good players away.
