  1. I'm not insinuating that they have not done anything to date, although the very disorganized online poker community may be an indication. There is nothing that I can find on their website that outlines their mission statement, goals, plans, strategy to accomplish, etc.I just want to make sure this is not yet another poker site trying to make a bit of profit. Twenty bucks is a no brainer if these guys have a plan and will execute it. But anybody can come up with a name, get a few pros to join, and ask a very large market for 20 bucks.Any information from anybody involved or who knows of their
  2. I did the gear deal. I'll have to re-read the contract but I think if nobody makes a TV final table, which nobody has, then only 2.5% gets split among those that participated. It was a good deal. The button down shirts are really nice and it was easy to spot and meet som of the FCPers.Daniel is going to have to win this sucker. I invested a hell of a lot of money to wear that gear in several events. No cashes. Should have, but haaaaaddddd to play to win when I was 50 or so out of the money.
  3. I have no opinion on Fidler yet, but the hands you mentioned below are the types of hands that must occur to win a large tournament. As you know, rarely will you go through and win an entire tournament without a few suckouts. Why he ended up all in with K9 early is questionable, but sometimes bad plays get rewarded.Since he has retained his chips and is at the final table with the chip lead, gotta give the kid some props.I'm not sure if you were saying that the only reason he is doing well is the cards are smacking him over the head, but he must also be doing many things right.
  4. Two things:1) Slow play <> no pay , slow play = getting cracked2) You must look at the chips you play with live or online as game pieces. I am completely serious when I say you must find a way to have a complete lack of respect and disregard for the money in a poker game. The minute you think about what those chips can buy, you are screwed. I'm not saying play stupid, because those with he most game pieces wins If I think back to when I started playing, I would likely have thrown up if I were to lose what I now regularly win or lose in a session (hopefully win more than lose). The r
  5. ***Edit - Should be noted that most of this was written from a cash game or deep stack portion of a tourney perspective.Tswing could have been gentler, but his post makes a lot of sense. The question you and the OP are asking is not one that an inexperienced player can ask and expect to understand the answer to.Most people that have an understanding of what I believe you are getting at have put in thousands of hours and figured it out for themselves. As you climb in stakes, you may find that players play even more “bizarre” hands in a particular position with certain players in a hand. The
  6. Irrelevant. Poker is a game of imperfect information. It is only relevant whether a hand is 52-48 or 49-51 if you know EXACTLY what a player is holding. Just as the poster who said AA is 35% was close enough. Running hands through a calculator is only helpful to get you close and for study. Are you going to make a different decision against five players with a possible 5% difference in your odds? Very unlikely.
  7. http://recpoker.com/search.php?group_id=1negreanu duke in the search box with no quotes.Best post that is returned with that search:god good, it's 3 years old.they've moved on.how about we do too
  8. Don't be a welfare case and file for bankrupcy. Contact a debt solution company as another poster stated, get a plan, and work your arse of to get it paid. If you are willing to work, $6,000 is not much money. Work hard! Work evenings and weekends. You got yourself into this mess, get yourself out. You will learn a lot in the process.DON'T TRY TO EARN IT PLAYING POKER!Be responsible and don't turn your problem over to the tax payers.Good luck!
  9. Looks like Sol Bergen is the man, even though not the official Protege.http://sollucas.com/
  10. Dude, be carefull making jokes about Ninjas. This is a totally credible testimonial:Ninjas can kill anyone they want! Ninjas cut off heads ALL the time and don't even think twice about it. These guys are so crazy and awesome that they flip out ALL the time. I heard that there was this ninja who was eating at a diner. And when some dude dropped a spoon the ninja killed the whole town. My friend Mark said that he saw a ninja totally uppercut some kid just because the kid opened a window.http://www.realultimatepower.net/index4.htm
  11. This logic is so very flawed. God made me that way is not a valid reason to act on one's urges. If it were then it would hold true for a murderer with murderous urges. "God made me the murderer I am so how can you ask me not to murder".I am in no way comparing a homosexual to a murderer, but just can't keep reading the "God made me that way" posts without pointing out the flaw in that logic. It can be used for any urge of any kind.Good luck in figuring all this out, becasue it certainly is no easy affair.
  12. Ok, so maybe my motives are a bit selfish. In my fantasy world I thought I could pitch this as an "adventure". The reality is I plan to play a lot of the WSOP events and did not want to fly back and forth a lot and don't want to be away from the family that long. That what I was trying to confirm. I already knew the answer but I held out some hope. Most of my Vegas trips have been in non summer months. My one summer trip was unseasonable cool in the 90s. I would defineitely get a place with a pool, but even so, that wouldn't cut it. I knew the strip wasn't for kids, but I figured there
  13. Anyone! Help a brother out, this is not an easy sell to the wife!
  14. I'm contemplating an extended stay in Vegas from mid June to mid August. I will be bringing my wife and 3 small children (8, 6, & 3).Does anybody have any advice on a good area to rent a furnished house for this time period? Ideally a family friendly neighborhood with a pool. I would also like to be 15 to 20 minutes from the strip as I will be playing a lot.Second question is what is there to do with the family that can be done in July. My fear is that it will be so hot that we will either need to be locked in the house or in water. Any feedback on the climate during that time of year
