Had no idea before the surg I would not be allowed to run for so long, this might have been the longest I have gone without some kind of high intensity exercise in my life. However, I have learned to appreciate the energy you have to expend in walking briskly on a treadmill at a high incline. Was not easy! That said, felt good this weekend to be running, even if it was at a slow pace and not much in the way of intensity. Dieting is hard! Drinking is fun. Saying no to desserts when placed in front of me is really impossible. GL guys, nice work so far, and nice to have you in Ollie, GL. Link to post Share on other sites

I had a "good week" in the daytime, but I ate pizza for dinner 3 times, lol. I was actually on pace for a really good week, but I ended up taking a 2-day road trip to Calgary to visit a friend in the hospital, and met up with some other friends and drank too much and ate out for 3 meals. Next few weeks I'll just hope to tread water as I have a 2-day Toronto trip for work next week that is never going to be healthy, and then a 3-day Banff trip next weekend for a yearly guys trip/poker event that is definitely not healthy. I have literally no muscle. My directions were to not lift anything heavier than a coffee cup for 3 months. Can you imagine how nothing my arm is now? I lifted a bit last night, part of my rehab, and sore today already. Would love to take pounds off the gut and add some muscle to the arms. Link to post Share on other sites

Desserts is the toughest part..I havent had a beer in 3 weeks..I did have a shot of tequila over the weekend to celebrate with some parents..Exercise is key ...I dont run, but I am walking...I wish I can run but i have issues with my feet. I think its not a bad day to once in a while have a cheat meal..That way you arent deprived..Long as it doesnt become the "gateway" meal to eating bad..I followed Jaime Staples all year and everyone was trolling him because he was drinking diet soda everyday..If there is something you cant give up, just have to work it in to the diet... The Diet Soda debate is a big one...I am always on the side that no sugar and no calories is ok..But there are a lot of negatives to diet soda that i am sure someone can write an essay about it... Having said that I have gone from drinking two or 3 a day to now ONLY drinking maybe one or two a week.. Link to post Share on other sites

Don't knock walking. It's a tremendous exercise and significantly lower impact than running (which is pretty horrendous for most people). Walking burns more calories than people expect. Keep it up! I can't wait for higher temperatures so I can get back on my bike. I just can't do it in the winter, with my lack of fitness and how much the cold air ****s with my lungs (asthma). I feel soooo out of shape at the start of the summer. I need to get it together and find a replacement exercise for the winter. 1 Link to post Share on other sites
Babying 613 Posted April 10, 2018 Share Posted April 10, 2018 I gave up soda or pop at least 5 years now. I use t drink a lot of coke. Dr Phil said if you give it up you drop 25 lbs in a year. I’m not in the contest but also hoping to drop 10 pounds and rooting for you guys. I’m naturally thin and have no muscle so healthy weight for me is likely ridiculously low like 145-150 but I doubt my lifestyle of no exercise, sit at a computer and eat like crap will get me there Link to post Share on other sites
