Fcp Summer 2016 Weight Loss Challenge

Recommended Posts

my exercising has fallen off in the last month with the hot weather. I play golf 2-3 times per week if that counts. Usually, I like to go for a walk after work 4-5 times per week, but its hard to get motivated when it is 30+ degrees out.

I like the 10 weeks, I don't like the fact its the Monday of thanksgiving weekend. lol

My exercising has gone down to 0 this last 2 months. After Vegas, before family trip I was too busy with work, and with no basketball in the summer, I have no "set" schedule for exercise.

I am really hoping I become a runner, did some running in April-May to take off the weight, and found it doable and pleasant.

and frankly, its been really hard to exercise with my questionable shoulder. (keeps dislocating so scared to play most sports)

Im also considering hiring a trainer for lifting weights, because

1) I need someone to tell me what Im supposed to do

2) I esp need a pro because of my shoulder. to make sure I do it right and build up the muscles around my prior dislocations.

has anyone hired a trainer before? how expensive is it? Im kind of wary to pay for something I could probably just look up on youtube, though a trainer for 3/6 months might get me the right motivation and help I need for a lifetime???? any experiences???

my shoulder is kind of fcked, the doc said if I was younger, she would 100% tell me to do surgery, but she thinks at my age might not be worth it. I hear too many stories of how the surgeries dont work and make it worse, PLUS the fact Id be out of commission entirely for a month, cant really afford that with work. Plus 3 months of no exercise, and 9!!! months of no sports+ lots of rehab!

I dont know what to do, kind of depressing actually, and why I need to keep my weight in check in case I suddenly cant do fck all for 3 months.

sorry long winded answer, Im just venting!

I mean, you're not 80. I would say go for the surgery, You've got decades of an active lifestyle ahead of you, if you can get that fixed, it's gotta be worth the 9 months of discomfort. Easy to say as the guy that doesn't actually have to get the surgery I guess, surgery does suck :(

thanks, and you're probably right, my worry is just from hearing about the possibilities of the surgery not working out. And I dont know how to schedule it at a time when I can afford to not drive or work with my right arm for a month. Thats really problematic.

actually, that reminds me, Chris had mentioned a shoulder surgeon he worked with who he really liked. Maybe a 2nd opinion is worth exploring, since the first surgeon really waffled with her answer. (that might just be the reality of the situation I suppose)

No need to feel embarrassed in our company.

Going to try. I'll fail but going to try.

176.5

Goal 170

I need to measure my waist bc I'd rather lose that and gain or maintain weight due to muscle. Need to find my tape measure.

pretty bad week. Didn't overeat, but my evenings were pretty unhealthy. Saved by playing 54 holes of golf on the weekend in 30 degree heat.

shocked I didn't gain weight this week. Too many social events. lots of beer, not very healthy food. sticking to my breakfast/lunch regiment is saving me I think.

I should join this. After the hack job on my crown I can't eat

I have not been able to eat properly since the hack job on my tooth.

Weigh myself today and I hit 190. I have never been that weight in many years.

Unfortunately that may be it since I paid to get my tooth fixed to the tune of $1,300 today.

I am now pain free for now. Last night was the worst night I had to deal with my tooth. Could not sleep because of the continuous pain

I started tracking myself with a spreadsheet. I think I basically recreated myfitnesspal, in a worse format. I have entries for calories and weight for each day, and an input for my guess at my maintenance, and it just projects what I should weigh on paper given the data. I mostly just look at the weekly average vs. the projected, and it is actually pretty close.

I'm not shooting for dead-on accuracy or anything, just trying to give myself a reason to pay attention to what I'm eating. I'm up 20+ pounds in about 2.5 years, and stuff is starting to not fit anymore. I'm down a little more than 2 pounds, which I don't care too much about... I'm more excited that I have continued to pay attention after almost two weeks.
