ShakeZuma 585
well I'm getting ready to go get in bed, and I have to assume you're just kidding, but just in case you aren't... really? I mean they're two stories (the bottom two I mean, I don't even remember what the top two were about) about the exact same topic and they're reported with completely polar opposite slants. I mean, I think the AP's was way more anti democrat than cnn's was pro (they just politely ignored the 800 pound gorilla of the fact that the democrats decided not to vote on the tax cuts and instead praised them for doing their most basic function, but still) but to say that they were basically the same? I... really don't think you could have read them.

I bet mk did the same.who gives a shit about anything outside of econ amirite?Like I said, I barely saw a difference. The top two were almost identical. The bottom two had the editorial differences I expect between news organizations with differing agendas but it was not anything egregious. So, yes I am serious.
mk 11
How else can you explain Clinton twice?Hmm...quite simply correct on everything that matters, approval rating of 73% on the day he was impeached, greatest President of the modern era, yawns.

Pot Odds RAC 23
Juan Williams tell the honest truth so NPR has to fire him, nice.NPR Ends Williams' Contract After Muslim Remarks Wow.Interesting that NPR's "editorial standards and practices" don't allow Juan's comments. Amazing really that they seem to have had a long time issue with Juan's appearance on Fox. Williams' presence on the largely conservative and often contentious prime-time talk shows of Fox News has long been a sore point with NPR News executives. That is from the article on the NPR Site!!!I know that BO'R has been critical of certain conservatives in the past and he seems to have kept his job on "Conservative Fox"
LongLiveYorke 38
Juan Williams tell the honest truth so NPR has to fire him, nice.NPR Ends Williams' Contract After Muslim Remarks It seems like an overreaction. He was just being honest about how he feels. He wasn't trying to be provocative (from the short quote I read). I mean, everybody thinks that for a split-second when they see a group of Muslims on an airplane. It's a natural reaction at this point, you can't not think of 911. That's why we have to counter these temporary impulses with planned and deliberate tolerance.
AmScray 355
"His remarks on The O'Reilly Factor this past Monday were inconsistent with our editorial standards and practices, and undermined his credibility as a news analyst with NPR,"Translation: They don't fit into the deluded, bliss-ninny agenda we're constantly crow barring down everyone's throats. NPR is a huge, huge joke and hardly much more than a mouthpiece for the far left agenda. Amusing to watch them cannibalize one of their own for not toeing the ideological line. Balloon guy 158
Juan Williams tell the honest truth so NPR has to fire him, nice.NPR Ends Williams' Contract After Muslim Remarks Fox News is standing up for him..but of course, they are the ones willing to have an opposing side of an issue have a voice on their network..so that might explain their willingness to support a man in the journalism trade of having the freedom of speech rights afforded him by his Creator in the constitution. CaneBrain 95
I would say that firing Juan will do just the opposite. You'd be wrong though. The more partisan the move, the more you get the "base" to give money. Sad, but true for both sides. Sharon Angle raised 14 million dollars in short stretch after unveiling an ad accusing Harry Reid of supporting the government giving free Viagra to convicted felons. Reid is a lot of things but I'm pretty sure he does not support THAT.(To be fair, Reid just unveiled an ad with a teenager on screen as a narrator tells Nevadan voters that if this girl was raped and impregnated, Sharron Angle would make her have it. Good gravy. I am sure he raised a lot of money from it too.)

CaneBrain 95
Maybe where your base is strong like the coasts but here in middle America I bet it will hurt.Exactly. The best funding always comes from the strong base. I am sure the DNC is funneling a lot of money raised from the coasts into Reid's race....just like I am sure a lot of Midwest money is being funneled to GOP candidates on the coasts like Meg Whitman or Dino Rossi. And so it goes.I would be surprised if things were much different for NPR since they are national after all.
hblask 1
after unveiling an ad accusing Harry Reid of supporting the government giving free Viagra to convicted felons. Reid is a lot of things but I'm pretty sure he does not support THAT. http://politifact.com/truth-o-meter/articl...agra-rand-paul/In the ad, the the narrator says, "Here's the kicker: Reid actually voted to use taxpayer dollars to pay for Viagra for convicted child molesters and sex offenders. What else could you ever need to know about Harry Reid?"We concluded that the ad is correct that Reid voted against a prohibition on taxpayer-subsidized Viagra for sex offenders. But the ad leaves out a lot of important context that, if it had been included, would have given a different impression. We rated the ad Barely True.'Barely true', on that site, when referring to a claim against a liberal means "absolutely true" in normal human standards.
